Drew, I was just thinking of something to help on your trip....

Gas prices vary dramatically, and you will be using a good bit.
I'm not sure about the midwest, but once you get out here, the reservations usually have gas at $0.20- $0.35 a gal cheaper.

It adds up quickly. Typical 40 gal tank would net $10 at $.25 cheaper.

Not sure if the reservation prices are posted on those "gas apps".....
thanks
good news is I'm sucking down regular gas and I doubt that V10 requires "certified" gas but I try to avoid no names anyway.
software I use for traveling has an overlay that includes gas stations in the area, and when you put cursor on them, shows current
gas price.

I expect to be buying my 830 gallons of gas at larger stations. I just put several cans of SeaFoam in the tank and I pump gas every day.
I usually fill up with 25-30 gallons, yes out of 40 total. At 10mpg that gets me 250-300 miles down the road, which is what I have planned trip on.

rained on and off all night, 2.71 on rain gauge now.
going food shopping this morning and then will putter until ready to pick friends up to go out to dinner.

major problems with internet, running very slow still this morning. Can't load weather. Won't run speedtest. hmmmmm

Good morning,
63° now highs in the upper 70’s today.
Raining now, off and on showers all day, steady rain later tonight into early Saturday morning. Winds pick up later this afternoon and overnight S 15-20 with gusts up to 35 mph. This is from hurricane Debby which is tracking more west of us than first thought.

Never dried out enough yesterday to get mowing done, looks like next chance will be Saturday afternoon. Did some weeding and a little bit trimming until it started showering after lunch. Feet up the rest of the day.

Off to pick up groceries and a Wally order this morning, the rest of the day just putter around.

Mostly - not sure exactly how much rain fell, enough to overwhelm the sewer system, flood streets and basements and a few car rescues were needed. Manchester NH is an old mill city, small by modern standards only 115,000 population, but the largest in the state.

Prayers for those dealing with Debby and the loss it caused.

Stay safe and healthy everyone

anyone else having slow internet this morning?
I switch from Verizon to T Mobile and they both are crawling this morning.
won't display weather radar, won't run speed test.

sometimes if I turn one on, then the other provider, the original one works better.
Like it knows it has competition and had better get moving...
pretty low tech explanation

weather radar just turned on, wow lot of rain going up mid Atlantic inland, right up through Maryland
and central PA.
Engineer, are you driving into this?

so it looks like the bulk of this storm has gone West of me.
That's good news for the car show tomorrow, now the forecast is bright sun all day.
perhaps in a sea of mud, but sun is good.

going to rain all day, maybe another inch.
So far this has been a good storm, a real soaker but slow

I wonder if Frits is down checking out his driveway soon.
This is coming right over him

I have been having similar problems with Xfinity for 3 weeks. They claim they are working on it. Have switched my 2 TV’s back to antenna. Seems Xfinity finds the best time to shut off internet/cable is in middle of something very interesting. Neighbors are having same problems.

76 inching up to 82...still windy and cloudy from the storm, but rain paused. Tornado in local area yesterday and many warnings. Got our first big rain (1+ inch) since early May. Good.

Too wet (thankfully) to do much outside yesterday but hike, so did a long one, then a short one with Della. She loves the rain now.

have been working on my Texas stops and hope to stay near Kyle so we can have dinner one night.
Found a small rv park in Giddings, between what looks like a rv dealer and a gas station. That sounds helpful.
Town's planners sure don't like curves...

looks like a railroad used to run through town
lots of small farms and I follow that road East all the way to Houston and then on to Crystal Beach at the shore.
