I found another project. My Weber Q grill has been suffering from "low heat", which I find is "a known issue". Seems that the regulator is in "bypass" and limits the gas flow. This thing is 20 years old at least, but is a simple unit and nice small size for the deck. Like many of you, I try to fix things rather than throwing stuff out. There are work-a-rounds on uTube, so I will either find the right/close enough regulator (Weber seems to use different brackets for several models) or use the uTuber style and find fittings to connect a universal.

speaking of college
I have a copy of my 1968 room, board and tuition bill from college.
3200 bucks.
about 30 grand today, actually a relative bargain considering current all in rate is 68k at Brown.
interesting that relative cost of education has doubled

I had to earn a thousand dollars a year for books and the rest.
couldn't afford a car in college, took the train to Providence.

Two weeks before I graduated I bought a new Toyota from Jack Thompson in Doylestown.
So for two weeks I had a car at college.
But it was such a strange, strange time.
1971 height of protests, campus upheaval, I never made it to graduation, which I'm not sure if it was called off.
All I knew was I crammed that little Corolla coupe with all my stuff and couldn't wait to get out of Rhode Island.
with a BA in American Civilization. yup, pure liberal arts with minors in psychology and black studies.
Not very useful, but well credentialed for a new England insurance company to hire.

gstrom, don't blow yourself up ;)

Got jeep working, looks like with all the things that happened yesterday, the shifter did not set in Park.
Moved it around , just in case, and it started!
Have around 130,000 miles, so just waiting for it to self destruct when my son is on his trip north next month.
Will bring it in for service once we are back from our trip to make sure nothing obvious will go wrong.
Not having a lift makes it hard to go through things.

67°F and .45 inches. Light rain as I type.

Trip to Costco went well. Left over $600 for what appeared a lesser amount of stuff. We did splurge on a couple of food items, some nice crab legs and the stuffed salmon which we’ll share with friends this afternoon. The hot dog and soda made for a cheap lunch, cheaper than filling the truck with E0.

Managed to get home and unloaded just ahead of the rain.

Nothing major planned for the morning. Stay dry. Piddle about and try to get an update on my tractor.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Older Fords had the same problem. You had to hold the shift lever up into the park position and then they would start.

Drew, I think hair cuts are a colossal waste of money. ;)
You are not going to stop the hair from growing unless you get your head burnt.

After a $40+ trip to local cutter for both Sophie and I we opted to get the $46 kit from Costco.
What’s been an unexpected is the reaction from folks. I’ve cut Sophie’s 3 times and every time she gets unsolicited compliments. Makes me feel I did a good job.

Good morning all,

The Great Big Boy Locomotive chase was a success!!

A friend of mine and I did a crazy thing yesterday of driving over 1,000 miles to pick up a trailer in Utah and return back to Nevada. We were trying to sync up our driving schedule to connect up with Big Boy-- and it worked!!

On the return trip, we pulled into Elko, NV, about 7:15pm. 15 minutes after Union Pacific said Big Boy would have departed. We had been watching for it on the rails alongside the freeway-- presuming we had missed it-- then we got to the tracks and there it was!!

Big Boy started rolling about one minute after we arrived. This was so odd-- we wound up timing it perfectly even though we arrived after it should have departed. It was almost like it was timed and waiting just for us. A real treat in a cramped day of driving so many miles.

Big Boy is massive. The engineering, the restoration, the sight, the sounds of the steam and the whistle is awesome to see. Reminds me of the era where American might was brought full bear to get things done. I have some good video and if I can figure out how to post a video I will do that.

Everyone have a great day!!!
