Good morning! 75˚F heading to the upper 90s, S wind no clouds today.

Got the garage ready yesterday for the cabinet/closets installers later this week. They will be the same kind I had in the old house that really hep keep things organized. I'll take pics. Hospice would not go outside in the old house but here he screams if he dosen't get to go outside.

The last of the flowers from the vegetable garden were picked yesterday and grace the veranda's table this morning. Two crops from my neighborhood garden at the horticultural gardens, potatoes in May and sunflowers in July. This Buch of flowers was from one plant 8' tall. July and August is too hot to play in dirt. The green rounds are onions almost ready to bloom.

thanks for electrical advice, understood; one is ground issue one is amperage draw
I had a ground for sure, due to water
I took small Makita leaf blower, one of my favorite tools because it gets in small places, and
blew out anything that could be blown out.
then plugged it all back in.
happy blue lights (y)
oh happy days

since I washed rv yesterday, now trying to figure out how water got in that gasketed outlet.
and since I blew out the AC inlet also at the same time, have no idea where water got in.
sounds like i need tiny drain hole somewhere or maybe better gaskets

now out to push the little mower while cool enough, no heat stroke for me thank you
I'm procrastinating because I'm all nice and clean and shaved and now to turn into a sweaty mess.
or I could text lawn mower guy to come tomorrow, normally his off week.
I think that sounds like a better plan. Once I start trimming I have to do everything and it's already in the 80's out.
yes, I think I'll let my fingers do the mowing...

Good Morning
75° and 95% humidity, high of 95 forecast with a chance of a thunderstorm. We got a few showers yesterday, a total of .16” of rain.

Rehearsal went well, all the technology with the monitoring behaved as it should. Very little head scratching.

Spent some time laying out the components that go between the boiler and radiant heat loops. There is a fill valve, thermostatic mixing valve, hydraulic separator, circulator, zone valves, air separator and expansion tank to fit in a fairly small place, and plumb correctly.
I’ve never done a radiant heat system, so there is a batch of head scratching as I figure it out.
One challenge is that the boiler has a minimum set point of 104° and the radiant loops should be under 85. I’m planning on addressing that with the mixing valve and using an outdoor temperature sensor and programming a steep reset curve into the boiler that could drop the temp as low as 36°.
If there are any hydronic heat experts here, I’d love to get your thoughts.

It’s also time to mow again, even though it’s mostly plantain that is sticking up and looking unkempt. Takes the same time as mowing thick growth, but uses less fuel.

Also have to look at son’s generator, it didn’t start during the last power outage. He said the overcrank indicator was on. I’ll start with checking the level in the propane tank. It’s got a 500 gallon tank that does nothing else, so it lasts a long time without a weeks long outage. Probably long enough to be forgotten….

Ron, nice pix! Presume a woodpecker with strong beak and red head?

Oh it was wonderful here yesterday with cloud cover and an occasional thunderstorm. Temps in the mid-80's after so many 100F+ days. Going to 93F today.

A disappointment-- Big Boy locomotive did not make it here yesterday for a public event due to a track issue in Roseville, CA. It is due today, but only for an employee event closed to the public. Then it heads east-- hmmm, maybe I need a road trip to chase it!!

Everyone have a great day!!!

Morning all, 73 going to 97 and cloudy/humid.
Got some small rain bursts yesterday, but not much accumulation.
Just enough to stop me from going out with the weedwacker.
Will need to do that today and some watering.
Instead went shopping for trip, not too exciting.
Did some more cleanup of dust tools in garage.

Table legs were purchased so I could make my timeline for table completion. And because the place I bought these from is much better at welding that I will ever be :)

M7040 - rough on the kid impacted by birth mother. She was so lucky your family took her in.

Be well,

Even though some of the trees are showing stress from being dry, most of the yard is growing way fast. Have to trim the weeping tree in front of the gazebo again, or duck low to get in.
Only tree that looks ragged is the ornamental hazelnut to the right in front of the garage. It seems to be dying off, maybe due to age :-(

should have taken my own advice
decided I was being a wuss and needed the exercise.
went out and pushed mower. And then I weeded.
now I'm red in the face, flushed, ear sounds like it's underwater from swelling,
a little dizzy, and soaked in sweat.

cranked house ac down to 74 and have a fan blowing on me.
this too shall pass

I think I may drive up to Quakertown to see the Lapp folks about my proposed garden shed. That will keep me in a/c.
need to remember to put rv exhaust fan on to move the air in there
The screen was getting really dirty and plastic retainer clips too hard for me to turn with my fingers.
Ken got in there and lo and behold they turn. Took the screen out, squirted it down with cleaner and hosed off.
looks like new now.

need to check on my rv mouse trap. I bet I got my Bounty muncher

Another hot one here today. I need to mow (ZT), but will maybe just do the fenced in yard for now (self propelled push Craftsman - the ZT doesn't fit through the gate). "Yellow Alert" for heat and also big storms later this afternoon. More south and east me, I think. They're talking derecho, more towards Illinois. I still lived in the Chicago area when the last one came through. Pretty scary.
