64°F and .25 inches rain.

Strange day yesterday. Eye Dr had car issues. Couldn’t get and Uber either so was 1.5 hours late getting into office. A whole gaggle of folks all prepped by the time he arrived. I was there over 2 hours.

Must have been the holiday weekend as Safeway and Walmart were a challenge just finding parking. I did get new glasses ordered. Settled for chicken sandwich at McD for late lunch.

30mm socket worked great, but sky opened up before I could get 3rd blade on. Will finish up this morning and go for a test mow

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

78F and mostly cloudy @ 11:30, heading up to around 80F for the day's high temp. Scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon, gusty winds and small hail possible.

Looks like most of the rain is off to the south and east at the moment though.

Ten Day showing unsettled weather for the next four days.

LWS reports yesterday's high hit 87.3F here.

Got potted plants on shelves watered yesterday first thing.

Then finished up mowing the front lawn. Ride was pretty bumpy.

After that I helped The Woman plant some French Marigolds from starter trays into pots.

She also got Her Asiatic Lilies planted into pots. They really need to be replanted somewhere in the ground.

Amazon finally showed up with the order that was MIA.

Finally connected up with accountant and got appointment scheduled.

After that I planted more tomatoes along the vertical trellis: 2 more Crimson Cushions for a total of 8 there ... plus 2 more Trip-L-Crop. Should still have room for 4 more Trip-L-Crop there.

Used up the last of 3' tall welded wire fencing to protect those, after unrolling it and straightening it out.

Got some step-in posts and put up a 2-wire monofilament fence on the eastern side of the vertical trellis as an additional impediment to the deer.

Helped Woman tie up the blooms on another peony plant.

Got the mud hosed off of one (of the four) shorter t-posts.

And then called it a day.

Woman fixed BLT's for dinner, I had 2 ... plus a leftover hard taco She had gotten from The Bell ... :giggle:

Agenda for today:

Dole out meds for this coming week.

Schedule one bill for payment.

Hose off the rest of the short t-posts.

Relocate one (shorter) piece of weed block fabric in the middle at the north end of the garden to accommodate planting space on either side of the arched cattle panel trellises.

Work on making up a Menards order: more mulch (while it's still on sale), hoops for the new netting, maybe some foam-filled tires/wheels for that little rolling seat that Kyle correctly predicted would be hard to keep the tires inflated on ... 🤬

If storms actually develop, then back up to the shop and work on finishing lift cylinder rebuild. Plus live trap repair and weld cross bar on the masonry ladder I broke.

Maybe work a haircut in there somewhere too.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

Good morning! Low of 45°, heading up to 78°. Wind is already here, started around 08:00. Supposed to be at 25-30 mph, gusts to 50.

L4N, glad you are back home. Take care and don't push it too far.
When I was a medic, I was always amazed at how bad physical shape people were in, some were 10 years younger than me and looked 20 years older.....
Made me feel good anyway.

Dennis, nice plan. Simple straightforward construction. I agree that 'air infiltration' is more important than just R-value.

Paul, nice progress on the foundation. That crew isn't messing around. How long do you anticipate the completion time?

Don, hope you get a quick sale! Will be interesting to see how much traffic goes through this weekend. Sorry about the deer eating the plant.

Drew, nice spread for the pancake breakfast. I used to enjoy cooking the pancakes for our VFD. I can't explain why... it was just fun I guess....

RNG, never had any fraudulent charges from Temu. We did find out that they will keep your card "on file" automatically. You have to go into your account settings and remove the card info manually. And, you have to do it EVERY time....

David, glad you are done with the dental work for the time being. Hope you don't struggle with the BX blades getting changed. I think the same gorilla puts on the blades that puts on the filters. Hopefully the LS has no more issues when you get it back.

Thomas, sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery. Hope it goes without issue and you have a quick recovery.

Ken, pool is looking good! You going to try it first?

Yesterday, decided to tackle cleaning out the pond. YUK! The bottom was coated in about 2" of thick black muck! Didn't smell too good either.....
Took much longer than expected. Knee was complaining during, back was complaining last night and so far this morning. Ahhh, the pleasures of getting old. At least it's done for another year. New pump is working great!

Today will be an energy conservation day. The only thing going to happen is watering the plants in the greenhouse. Not too hard to do at this point.

Going to grill some salmon burgers later. Not sure what sides are going with them.....

Everyone have a great weekend and please take some time to to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice given by our fallen heros.

BEF - making the doors wide enough for a wheelchair? If you plan for that, then hopefully you'll never need one :)
As you recall I was in a wheel chair for awhile, and have one. So yes, making most doors 3' wide, 2nd BR is 2'8'" (still wide enough).

LS, thanks.

Breakfast with most of the usual gang at a place close to me for once. Prices a little higher, fried potatoes the frozen kind, not as good. The rest was ok. More expensive.
Just finished mowing all the yard down to the creek. 2.5 hrs on the clock and on the meter. Dry here, haven't been getting the rains, I watered garden before mowing. Might go back out and spray some weed juice, and trim some limbs I keep forgetting to trim.

Popgadget - glad to hear your daughter is healing up fast. Walls look great.

She is doing great. She got in and out of my Prius effortlessly, and walked into the restaurant for breakfast with a cane.

I would imagine that Dennis is doing the ADA thing, I sure am, even a curbless shower so that I can roll into it!

I learned the hard way with my motorcycle accident a few years ago what life without mobility is like.

Not a curb less shower right now on the plans, but I do want one. If we decided to move to the house, the goal would be to add on a 2nd master bath with all that stuff. Did put in 3ft door to bath.
