Good morning!!!!

Doing our own haircuts was something we learned early on. One of the things with many kids is that we had to find ways to save time. Taking kids to get haircuts takes lots of time. This as well as shopping for shoes clothes etc had to be streamlined. With a few kids we had the luxury of going to stores and take our time but not later on.
Bought a hundred shoes on a factory surplus sale and saved lots of time. Got all the Y's surplus tees and saved lots time and so forth

So true. I am oldest of 8.
Catalyst for this was last haircut, Sophie saw I paid $42 for the 2 of us. Just plain, simple cuts, not styling or anything. Next trip to Costco resulted in $46 clippers. Only $4 from break even, next cut.

Good morning, the low is 17 and the high to 21°F. Wind NE 2 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

2 spare (new) sump pumps in the basement where they will live until the current 'spare' dies. It seems to be working the way it should, so time will tell.

Plans for today = none.

Happy New Year, all.
I have 2 spare pedestal sump pumps. Seems to be a good plan to have 2 spares. They have been spares for over 30 years.

septuagenarian is hard to pronounce.
octogenarian is much easier to pronouce. You only have to wait 10 more years.

Productive day. I moved the mowers through the shop. While touching up the cutting edges on the flail mower I found a split hammer and replaced it. Glad to get that before it got worse. Then hard-faced the skids on both mowers, grease and oil. They are ready to go. Fields are getting green.

The Apple menu has now shown a recovery contact invitation for software that suddenly showed up
No way to delete it and I don’t want to open it
Any ideas on what to do to get rid of it
It shows on the pc as well as phone

Frits, not seeing anything like that either on my ipad or iphone.

28°F and cloudy this morning, getting up to 38° today.

I started feeling better a few days ago, but the Wife's progress has been a bit slower. She's still fighting the coughing.

Three day weekend is over now. Back to work tomorrow, and "the long drought" before the next holiday, which is Memorial Day at the end of May.

Happy New Year, gents.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 17.8C and it's presently 23.7C, overcast with the odd gust of wind.

Yesterday, after replacing all of my calendars & tabulating last year's rainfall total (758.6mm) I decided to mow the property with the Z-turn; house/driveway/horse exercise area/front paddock. It took about 1.5hrs. Thank goodness I bought that Z-turn a couple of years ago.

I'm not sure what I'll get up to today. My Mate has just headed into town for a haircut/car wash & a few groceries to tide us over 'til tomorrow's 'real' into-town trip.

That's about it, take care all.

I miss the old GSW pumps.
Dad had installed a Otacko piston pump in the house I grew older in. You knew when the sump pump came on, thumpa, thumpa very softly.
He put another piston pump up in the attic right beside the 55 gallon barrel that held our toilet flushing water. It had a micro switch on it and when the barrel got low enough the pump would suck up the water out of the well and fill the barrel. He eventually plumbed the bath tub into the system
