Good evening, all. Very busy day down in the basement. Got the vanity and the toilet installed in the basement bathroom, and they both look very nice. Also, more cupboard installation in the kitchen, and we are getting close to the end.

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 9C and it's presently 14.4C, overcast (no rain) with a steady breeze. A decent rain is predicted for tomorrow.

Time-wise, I wasn't able to get at the wattle tree so I decided to take a walk around the property to see if there was any other 'damage' from the two-day high wind event. Yep, another 'pine' type was split. It's on the Shire's side but, of course, fell over (but not on top of) my fence. It, like the wattle, is not a priority but I'll need to get at it.

Also, in my travels around "Wagtail Park", I've more than noticed that I won't need to aerate my lawn and paddocks due to what I can only describe as an explosion of bandicoot activity. There are 3" conical holes EVERYWHERE so there must be some sort of grubs down there to encourage such digging and I'm happy with that as the grubs would be munching on grass roots. And there has to be several of them (the bandicoots), they're about the size of a baby bunny, can fit into two cupped hands. They're nocturnal, however on a moonlit night are readily seen scampering about.

We'll see what I can get up to this arvo.

That's about it, take care all.

Had a Bell helmet that saved my life many years ago
Me too, a full face model, 3 times in one crash maybe. 4 lane boulevard road at an intersection, I pulled up and stopped to make a right hand turn, noticed oncoming truck coming straight from the left in the inside lane going the way I was turning. I made my turn in the outside lane and started accelerating. Usually pretty fast because I was on my 1976 RD400 Yamaha 2 stroke street bike. Anyway, I sneezed and must've crept a little onto the stripe or into his lane. I was whacked on the back of my head with his RV extended mirror that was sticking out almost 2 feet. The whack threw my head down with such force, that my faceshield/chin guard area smashed my speedo and tachometer. Then I must've leaned into the truck as I was on my way down and ended up skidding with my head under the bike and grinding down the face shield and chin guard. Turns out it was a doctor, on his way to the hospital to deliver a baby, about 2 more blocks away. He testified in court that he was not speeding.

Moral to the story, do not sneeze next to a doctor going to deliver a baby with 2 foot extended RV mirrors on his truck. Oh yeah, in 1977, It cost me $500 for a 2 block ambulance ride. I was knocked out for a minute or 2, and broke my collar bone.

Another time God let me live for reasons only he knows.

Glad you survived. I had my share of spills with cars pulling out in front of me or sliding on ice. But one got me badly injured hitting into a VW bus. I was just about to top out in third gear on a BSA bike when he wanted to do a 180 degree turn almost in front of me. Tried to cut in front of him laid the bike down as much as possible but hit the front door.

Man those bike stories make my ankle hurt!
It was probably late April of 1970. I was commuting from University of Vermont to Essex on my "new" Suzuki 250CC. Going through Winooski on RT 15 a lady pulled out from a stop sign. It was raining and I had a bright yellow rain poncho on.
I tried to swerve around her. Didn't make it. I can still remember looking down and seeing her front bumper, my right boot (with foot), and my engine become one.
Flipped me through the air into oncoming traffic, which dodged me.
Might have saved my career.
Went to hospital for weeks, just before exams.
Might have flunked some of them, but Kent State occurred, the campus shut down, exams were put off. It was chaos and professors were lenient and let me take exams later. Which I passed.
Ankle still hurts to this day. Almost kept me out of the Army when I enlisted.

Good Evening David,
Best of luck with your SCAG ! Could it be a nonfunctioning interlock switch giving you problems ! They can be frustrating !!

That was one of my concerns, but got lucky and appears it was the switch itself. It tested bad. Wasn’t crazy about having to order one and wasn’t about to make a special trip to town to find one. Then I remembered Sophie’s old Craftsman. Pulled that switch, it tested good. Cleaned it up and i stalled. A quick non mowing test.

Rewarded my good fortune with relaxing session in the hot tub.

Poured first cup of coffee. 57° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 85° with sunny skies. Got my place cleaned Up. Then went over to neighbors and cleaned up their yard. Starred on 2nd neighbor's yard. After a few loads of limbs taken to chipper pile. Front tire went flat. Had a cut in side wall of one of the front tires. No tires available locally. Ordered pair off Amazon. Should arrive on tomorrow. Grocery shopping this morning. Then back on chicken coop roof.
Got whole family in one picture.
