Motivation seems to be hiding out today. Can’t say I looked too hard.

Did get the new deck belt on the BX, not that bad. Found a neat trick to deal with the tension spring using a string. No exposure of fingers. My only prior deck experience was the fiasco with the salesman. So much easier when you follow directions.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 66° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 81° with mostly sunny skies. .3" of rain yesterday. Never made it to GD graduation partly yesterday. Had a sore throat and sinus problems all day. Still having same today. Hope to get out in some sun today and help clear up the sinuses. So far netty pot and other cures have not helped.

good morning all
woke up to loud alarm on phone, I guess an amber alert, sounded more like a tornado alarm.
wide awake from that...
1.36 inches of rain so far, and still coming down
sump pump running, going to be a wet day

Ron, sorry you weren't feeling well, you are up too early also, did you miss Sassy's delivery?

73 going to 86. Some t-storms last night and more likely today.

Sure is darker at 5am than just 3 weeks ago. Turned on the outside spotlights and saw mama raccoon and 4 young ones under the branch where the goldfinches spill sunflower seeds from the feeders...feeders are safely in the house right now.

Buppies, hope you got caught up on your missed sleep.

Rip, glad you and your wife got some mountain time. I find it breathes energy into my soul. BBQ sounds good, too.

RS, nice beetle "harvest."

Thomas, that's a cool Wheelhorse. Sure his grandson will be excited.

Had a typical hot summer day...dump run, hike to the river, watch a little baseball (San Diego vs Phillies) and then mow for a couple of hours until my wife got home with groceries to unload.

Morning all!
75 and humid already and staying cloudy with possible rain for the day.
Rained almost every day last week!
Future doesn't look to good either. Wish it would go where it's needed.

After fighting for 4 months with Medicare I finally picked up my new CPAP machine and supplies! Trying out a new head gear to see if it will cause less neck pain. So far it seems to be ok. Added bonus is I can now put on my glasses to see my phone if needed.
All this rain has stunted most of the garden but we are getting some out of it. String bean plants are only 1/4 the size they should be by now. Tomatoes are stunted too! Squash plants seem to be doing fine.

Worked outside on various projects for my sister and cousin till driven indoors by heat or showers. Worked in the shop on a special project for myself. Although some might find it squeamish I decided to make my own final resting place. Hopefully won't be using it for a while!

Wife and I are status quo on health issues. I see the doc on Tuesday.
Other than that still poking along trying to cut the grass between storms.
Wife will be out visiting friends today so I will tinker in the shop and maybe sit and read a book for a while!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly…).

68.8F, going to upper 80w, allegedly no rain today.

T-Storms held off until almost 7PM, but around 1PM the skies got threatening and there were some distant rumbles of thunder, plus some gust front winds, but the rain didn’t come with that. It was enough for me to stop my chisel & plane sharpening project … I still have to sinish the blade for gro my great-grandfather’s wooden block plane, and also strop all the chisels and blades. I have some spokeshaves that also need to be done but I never got those started.

Mrs had found a door harp (basically ansoundbox with four strings and four pendant beads that sound notes when the door opens and closes) at the local thrift. It was missing the beads and the ribbon that it hung from was torn. I replaced the missing beads with 3/8-16 nuts on dental floss, and a piece of old belt replaced the ribbon.

I was hosing some wax moth debris off of one old hive frames and must have disturbed some yellow jackets, and managed to get stung on my earlobe. That was fun, and I had two different ears when we went out, but got some anti-inflammatory ointment on quick enough that it was not too bad. Jewelweed is good stuff!

For a little podunk town, our local theater group does some amazing productions! Another fun night out at the theater. We got there early enough to not get rained on — normally we would sit in the car until the doors opened, but I looked in the rear view and said “ Let’s get under the marquee roof now… we can stand for 10 minutes…”

after church I will likely finish up the sharpening project. It will be nice to have all the wood tools back into true again.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!
