Good morning!!!!

Good morning, the low temperature is 55 and going up to 79°F. Wind SE 4 mph. 40% chance of showers. The blackflies will be hungry today. There are showers in the forecast for the next 5 days for home.
There are 'special air quality statements' issued for both home and Timmins, due to smoke. I wont be smoking as many cigarettes.

First on the agenda is to cut the grass, then take the stock CB antennas (1/4 wave) off the truck and replace them with my 'oil coils' (one full wavelength each). I thought about installing the boot, but really cannot justify it for only 4 months. It isn't that hard, just 2 power wires + and -, and the two antenna cables, in and out. I already have the antennas that will handle the added power, but cant push myself to break the law that badly, 75 to 150 watts or 300 watts for the other one. I would have to use the virgin Uniden (3 watts) I have in the truck right now, the Cobra (25 watts) would fry the boots and it ain't no virgin.

Well if I don't get to it, then the blackflies wont get fed. lol

Have a safe day all
What is your opinion on dual antennae? Thanks!

I have found in the past that one good (1 full wavelength) antenna gets out just as good as two. Duals are just more pleasing to the eye, but a huge pita to match. The truck I have has factory installed duals, all the coax is burried in the interior and the mirror brakets aren't the traditional ones. That goes for everything. You've got dual exhaust, dual headlights and the list goes on.

Thanks - I was thinking about how much of a PITA they would be for installing and tuning, I guess if you get it right they work well, but the big steel whip will probably be my next antenna. Currently using a Firestick. No warmer.

Friend of my sister has a Harmon pellet stove that is 10 years old for sale for $500. Was over $4000 when new.

What a deal. I’ve been looking for a used one. Former coworker had one he didn’t want but would never give me a price. He knew what they were worth new.

63° going to near 90°

Maybe will hook up washer and dryer at son’s new place. He’s not moving yet, he has little over a month to get out of apartment. Might take a few things over, it’s not far.

Son said it sprinkled at home, not enough to even register in rain gauge. Chance of thunderstorms Monday.

Good Morning
It’s 60 and going to the upper 70’s another dry day, but at least without the smoke.

Got another load of mulch yesterday, getting ready to spread it in the beds around the shop now that they are cleaned up and the roofing is done.

Have a quick trip to Martha’s Vineyard today, hopefully mulch when I get back. First trip in a couple weeks. Have a couple short ones next week as well.
All day trips, no waiting and an hour or less. Just the way I like them.

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 6:00AM. Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 83F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.

Good progress on the roof, with all but the portion around the chimney chase covered in steel. Crew isn't sure how to deal with the flashing, so the boss will be out on Monday with a plan. I hope. They still need to get the rest of the flashing done.

Buddy and I put the red dirt bike on the lift yesterday, the one that swallowed a valve last year. Thought I had everything needed to put it back together until I looked inside the other cylinder and found it scored. So it'll go back for replating next week. What's another month to wait since it's already been a year?

A van I'd previously inquired about, but that wasn't actually on the lot, was delivered yesterday. Right color, but missing some key options, so I passed. Again. Still haven't heard how the roof repair is going, so I'll get with my body shop buddy today and show him some enlargements of the photos they shot. Maybe he can pull a rabbit out of his hat; I've seen him to some amazing work. And maybe that'll save me some cash on the purchase. Or it could be a lost cause. Either way, at least I'll know for sure.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

59F and sunny @ 08:30, heading up to around 82F for today's high. The overnight low was 50.4F.

Enjoying fresh pot of coffee, would be even more enjoyable if I had remembered to pick up some Half and Half while I was out yesterday.

Quite a contingent of ground hogs out back this morning.

Watered plants and seeds in pots yesterday first thing.

Also put out the last 22 mealworms, checked nest box and the bluebird egg count was up to 3 ... (y)

Ran down to Dunkin after that and picked up a donut and a large iced Butter Pecan.

Swung by Eddie's Live Bait on the way back to pick up more mealworms but they weren't open. Will run down there in a little bit and pick up another 250 mealworms ... that way we'll be ready for the rainy weather which starts tomorrow PM (99% chance ... (y))

After I got back decided to go ahead and mow the front and get that out of the way. Wasn't all that long but it needed done. Wasn't looking forward to it, as I knew it would probably be dusty and it was.

Once that was done, I hooked up the dump cart and went up and trimmed some low-hanging branches along the road. Also trimmed some multi-flora rose up there around the gas meter and out back in the expanded lawn area. That area was cleared out at some point, then kept cut, and the grass has just expanded into it.

Upstairs cats fed, downstairs one complaining loudly for her's.

Agenda for the rest of today:

Water Woman's flowers out front.

Get Woman's Siberian irises planted back in flower bed.

Move some more cans of paint from back to front for disposal.

Check Cub tire pressures.

Finish up mowing down here around the house.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday ... (y)

successful visit with landlady
first I buttered her up with a perfect strawberry I saved for her to pick in the garden
and then we looked at formica color chips and picked one out for new kitchen counter.

my cheapo HF powerwasher does not have the right heavy duty air connections for the soap cannon.
have to figure out a solution for that that doesn't include buying a larger pw.

weeded the garden, pushed the cordless trim mower a little, good to get a little exercise.
put some clips on the tomato plants, they are growing like mad

LED fixture in rv is kaput. Need to find a replacement.
