Good Morning.
55 and might make it to 75 under sunny skies. A nice change from the dreariness of yesterday.

Hard to get motivated yesterday, did some cleanup in the shop, played with Zoe for a bit, but definitely conserved energy until lunchtime.
After lunch I did make it to airport and made measurable progress on the little plane. Stopped at grocery store on my way home, for some fresh green beans and broccoli. Youngest son and his wife came to visit with their dog, Zoe loves the company. Grilled a couple of filets and NY strip steaks, baked potatoes, and steamed the fresh veggies for a nice dinner.

I’ll likely get back to the airport today, maybe go to the Q Mart for a Gyro at lunchtime. I’ve got to take care of the customs paperwork for tomorrow’s trip to Marsh Harbor. It’s mostly done, just waiting for a Fax from the Philly customs office, but I’ve got to have all my ducks in a row before I leave the country. It makes coming back a lot easier….

David, thank you for sharing your story about the house building and Sophies illness. I realize that being the new kid on the block I don't have the history that many of you have.

I went through a years worth of believing I had cancer only to find out the test results were wrong.
Drew went through some hard times also. Glad she is doing well today

Good morning, all. Looks like it’s going to be a nice day. Had quite a bit of rain over the last couple of days, so couldn’t get anything done outside. Today, however, it’s a different story. I went and picked up my new dock ramp, and I just have to put a couple of eyelets in and it can be put in the water, attached to my new floater, and then towed over to my main college from the rental property with the Sea-Doo. Can only make about 5 km/h, so it’s kind of a long boring trip. But not as long and boring as going to pick up the old one that someone found 3 miles down the lake!

Lots of fun stuff to do today. I’m going to be putting up the gazebo down on the dock so we can sit and enjoy the lakefront without the bugs.

The renters are safely in scones, and unfortunately, they can’t have a campfire because fire ban us on until at least Wednesday and they leave on Monday. They brought three fishing boats and a small, six horse motor to use on our rowboat, so they’re quite the fisher people!

Good evening all. 56ºF for the start mostly clear sky, Breezy. Moderate wind wind brisk sustained gusts, sky became partly cloudy, and high temp was 74ºF. Bike ride to start day, stopped in on garage sale and could not resist buying it, $40 and runs good. Needs new air filter, oil change, and blade sharpened. Also found full set Husky metric allen wrenches. Because of the sustained wind gusts did not no leave the lake. 60 miles. Took truck back to get mower, ate lunch and napped. Did not get a chance to go over mower yet.

That rail bridge in my pic was last used in 1928 when it was owned by the grand trunk company, best I can find historically. It was made obsolete by the highway that was built about 1/2 mile south between grand rapids to grand haven MI

Good Morning!!!! 59F @ 6:45AM. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 91F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Weather guesser on TV last night mentioned a chance of showers for next weekend, but there's no sign if 'em in the WU 10-day.

RNG, did you add a battery monitor? which one.?
It's a TriMetric. Contractor said he'd show me all sorts of ways to ensure battery bank remained healthy if I put it on. That was just another unfulfilled promise, and now that it's installed, I hardly ever look at it.

Nice find on the mower, Bruce. Looks brand new!

Finished out with the bushog mower yesterday, got the new 77" cut flail mower installed without too much problem, just the usual stuck push button on the PTO coupler. Man, I hate that style, painful on the fingers. Vibrated a bit more than the old one at first, then seemed to smooth out some. Got a little scalping even with the top link fully extended, so I'll try extending the roller a bit this morning before I start in again. The extra foot of width speeds things up a little, but the extra weight also works the tractor more, especially going up the steepest parts of the property. Ran it until noon when I stopped because things were getting pretty dry.

Found and fixed a bad splice in the speaker wire on the back porch; one of the all in one solder connectors let go. Fixed it with real solder and shrink wrap.

Moved a known good LED stadium light to the back porch where it went fully out, and put the new one back in its place. Seemed to go all the way out, but once dark it is still faintly glowing. There's a procedure for trimming the switch it's hooked to, so I'll see if I can get that to work once it gets dark tonight.

Netflix announced it was quitting the DVD rental business in September, so I've been using their streaming service more. But I'm seeing lots of buffering pauses during the movies I've watched, so will try other services to make sure it's not a Starlink problem. It may well could be, as Starlink has slowed way down since it was first installed. That's been the story with every internet service I've ever had, though.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Good morning! Low of 45°, heading up to 71°. Partly cloudy, 50% chance of storms this afternoon. No rain yesterday, looked like it would, but storms went around.

I did get some gravel spread yesterday, but the tractor was leaving some ruts, so only did a few spots.

Wifey decided that a few of the transplanted bulbs were big enough to go into their permanent homes in the driveway planters. I was her go-fer.....

The rest of the bulbs will have to wait until we get going on the courtyard again (probably this week).

I didn't take the advice given here about the "mulch sale".
I had only gotten a few of the smaller bags at HD.....
Lowes is apparently not going to have the Memorial day sale..... I should have listened.....

The mulch is one of the things needed for the project, used as its progressing:
Install landscape fabric, portion of walkway border, fill in the open beds with mulch, a little more walkway, fill in open area.... rinse and repeat. Working backwards out the gate.... Don't want to run the tractor over completed areas.

Going to definitely take the trimmer for a walk today. Then maybe get to set/fill the bigger strawberry planter (3'x8').
All depending on how bad Mr. Knee is going to argue.....

Everyone have a great day!
