64°F and no rain. Yeaaaa

Sun shining in the sky. How encouraging.
Intend to get started on my door build. Plan is to get 1 could of paint on everything before any assembly. It’s the sheets of plywood, then cut the 2x6s to size then sand and paint. 6 doors, 6 parts each door. A major factor is the logistics of space, not like I can just stack 6 sheets of wet painted ply.

And in the back of my mind, my super tall grass finally drying out begging to be mowed.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I’ve been thinking of converting my basement slider to a French door. Anderson replaced my original back deck slider under warranty as the laminate peeled off.

I like both, have both. Really like the french doors due to usability of the large opening. Unfortunately the french doors at cottage have not weathered well. The frames have rotted out at lower corners. The doors themselves are the metal clad and the inside wood at bottom is rotting as well. If the rain is wind driven at right direction etc as in recently they leak. Oh well, almost 20 years, but the new sliders should last my lifetime. The Pella doors are reversible, the added benefit if I should need more than the 34” access I can remove both panels resulting in like space to the french doors.

I have French door on side porch where it’s protected. it’s got 1 fixed and 1 swing.
For basement I’d like to be able to open both. Every now and then I have to remove the basement fixed panel to bring something large in or out. It’s actually pretty easy to do. Sometimes just removing the slider will get me enough room.

"Managed to take in some Eagles, Wagtail called it right a few days ago. Lots of action in the sky, 4 juveniles, 6 vultures all flying about. Talk about an air show!"

That's what I call catching to moments Riptides. (y)

Mostly cloudy @ 15:30, WU reports 50F, WB reports 57F ... Think the closest station might be offline.

Rain due in around 19:00, heading into a cooler pattern for this coming week.

Up very late today, another late night out in the garage ... :giggle:

Woman in the (downstairs) shower in preparation for trip out to get cat food. We are totally out ...

Spent last night sorting through and organizing yet more small parts/fasteners and getting them stowed away in storage cases. Tedious.

Also worked on cleaning up some tools, including Grandfather's No. 34 Wiss shears which had gotten pretty rusty. Threw some Fluid Film on them just for temporary until I can get around to treating them with phosphoric acid.

And reorganizing pegboard and cleaning off workbench on west wall.

Got the mahogany blank for the Forstener bit holder sanded down and the marks for the holes for the bits laid out.

Removed the dust collection bag off the new Makita ROS and connected it to the dust collection system for the sanding.

Dust port on the Makita had considerable build up in it from using just the dust collection bag. When I removed the hose after sanding it had been sucked clean ... (y)

Some hand sanding done on pipe clamp rack parts as well.

Got column on drill press measured for the clamp for a bit/tool holder I will build.

We are just about out of critter food, so will likely make up and place Menards order and then run up and pick it up when The Woman gets back. Probably grab another 5 gallons of diesel for the torpedo heater while I'm out.

Will fill hopper feeder before I head out.

Plan on getting that first coat of poly laid down on the high shelf over the pegboard this evening after I get back. Might get the last bracket put up as well.

Then maybe some time on the computer laying out cabinetry (finally)

Hope everyone is having a great Monday ... (y)
