I've not been keeping up on TBN at all lately, but I see I'm not the only one taking Paxlovid. Last week I got to feeling so bad that our daughter tried to get me to let her take me to the doctor, but I refused. I slept most of the time for a couple of days, got to feeling well enough to call for a doctor appointment and the nurse told me to call when I got there, but not come in. So I did, and the nurse came out to the car and did the usual taking of pulse, temperature, etc., went back in and came out with the swap to stick up my nose, back in, then another lady came out to the car to tell me I had the Covid, and she was calling in a prescription for the Paxlovid and Methyloprednisolone. She also told me if it got any worse to go straight to the hospital.

I hope I'm doing better; will be taking the last of those pills today.

So sorry to hear that, Bird. I hope the Paxlovid helps! I took it when I got Covid in December, but I really can’t tell if it helped or not. All I know is that my case was fairly mild and didn’t last that long.

when you have time:

there was a discussion earlier on oiled permanent air filters.
I found this Banks video remarkable, in how much effort is involved to maintain the filter.
First you have to have two of them, or not drive your vehicle for at least 24 hours. After cleaning you must
put the filter out in the sun to dry, no hair driers, etc. Maybe put a fan in front of it?
And then the reoiling process takes four hours for the oil to properly wick into the media.

when the video started talking about measuring this and that I fast forwarded. What nonsense. Just package the oil in
an appropriate size for one or two oilings. Do you really want to measure the depth of your air cleaner pleats?
If you are into this, I guess it's fine. I'm happy to buy a 16 dollar preoiled Fram filter. Even the 14 dollar Fram filter looked ok, but
oil has been used to trap dirt for a really long time. I remember cleaning the old oil bath air cleaner on our
John Deere B as a teenager, what a mess. But simple to do. And that wire mesh wasn't wearing out anytime soon either.
What I wonder is what the micron rating of that old air filter was.
Compare that to today.

We get good specs in hvac filters, but surprised this isn't a big advertising deal with car/truck/tractor filters.
You just know if you buy a Baldwin or a Fleetguard, you aren't going to get a bad filter.
Always thought they were a step up from Wix, which was a step up from Fram. But so much stuff is private labeled
you wonder who makes what.

Why not a micron and CFM/GPM spec on every filter. Of course, the real issue is how do those specs change over time and use.
Most air filters work better when a little dirty, don't know if that applies to oil filters too. ??
Clearly Banks is all about boosting power. But power at what long term cost?
They make great equipment, proven, seems to be a smart outfit. Of course, they are selling their own
brand of high priced air filters.

The only reason I see to go through all that work is to keep all those dirty air filters out of the land fill.

Think I found problem with fuel cap. Underneath gasket you see when taking cap off. There is another gasket. It has 2 slots in it to let air into tank. Over the years it had imbedded its self into first gasket. Fixed it by turning one of the gaskets 90° from its original position. Then remember not to over tighten cap when putting it back on.

I am still having problems getting my oil fill cap/breather off - it moves about 1/8” up and down and that is it. I may have to put a come along to a rafter and hope I dont lift the tractor off the ground…

I ”pre-dry” my filter with the electric leaf blower on low, just enough to get rid of the major water droplets, then let it sun/air dry on the black bed cover on the PU. Oil it at the end of the day.

Good Morning. Here’s today’s weather here in southeastern PA.

Yesterday was all day in the shop working on speakers. Good to get the old dust off and put some new dust in its place.
I primarily use the table saw, and switch to a dado blade rather than use the router table to cut dados. I do use routers hand held for a lot of other tasks though.
I use a fine tooth blade for cutting up the Baltic Birch

And then a stackable Freud dado blade. A digital height gauge makes setting the depth easy and repeatable.

The resulting pieces fit together nicely, and will stand on their own without any clamps or glue for a dry fit up.

I’ll continue to make progress, but it looks like I might have to go to Punta Gorda tomorrow will will kill the day by the time I get home.

Morning all, 33 going up to 51 and cloudy.
Weather is just doing whatever season it feels like.

Went out for drinks after dropping son off at friends, then home to a nice fire.

Did not get wood stacked and used last of the wood from the rack by the door, so will need to do today.

PopGadget- getting the setup and skill to do those speakers so well must have taken some time.

Good morning! Low of 30°, going up to supposedly 45°. Sunny and not a cloud to be seen! But, the forecast from NWS shows rain showers around 11:00, changing to snow by 14:00, 80% chance. Wunderground shows a 93% chance, same basic forecast. I guess we'll wait and see......

Don't mind getting any moisture, but this time of year, the wind usually is prevalent with the storms.... gusts to 55 mph expected later today.

Bird, hope you get over the bite quickly. Rest and take it easy!

RS, hope the wife is doing better.

Paul, I bet it feels good to be making sawdust again! You definitely have it down to a science!

Drew, there was a post in another thread about 3 motor homes being washed away in a river out in LA. It appears that the RV park just started collapsing into the river torrents. That RV park in St Augustine looks pretty narrow..... pay attention to the weather....

Ron, glad the fuel problem was a simple fix.

The drip system worked ok for the majority of the zones. One had a split fitting (from freezing), another was still frozen (shady area). Not a big deal, watered them with the hose. Trimmed a couple more branches off a pine tree. We are eagerly awaiting for the first buds to pop.

Today will involve some puttering in the shop. Might rearrange the tractor attachments, otherwise, not too much. The knee was arguing already this morning and I didn't do anything yet!

Good Morning!!!! 39F @ 7:45AM. Periods of rain. High 47F. Winds SSE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a half an inch. Higher wind gusts possible.
Picked up another 0.4" of rain last night, more due in today with snow returning tomorrow.

Hope you continue to improve, Bird, and that your wife is doing OK as well.

Got TurboTax loaded on the laptop, and transferred last year's info into it, but that was it. It stopped raining, so took a ride on the little roller for a while and compacted the gravel on the driveway again. I should run the land plane up and down and try to get some more dirt mixed in with the gravel to keep the gravel from breaking down when it gets driven over. Maybe next time.

The new limit switch for the furnace showed up, so I installed that yesterday, too. I don't think the old one was the problem, as I've already had to power cycle the furnace once to get it going again. Error code is still complaining about the limit switch, and I wonder if I got a bad one.

Another inside day, probably take another swing at the taxes.

It is good that you found the problem, just leave the cap on loose. You really didn't need another tank, just a cap.
