Good morning!!!!

26F and cloudy @ 11:45, heading up to around 31F for the high for the day. Ground has a light dusting of snow.

Torpedo heater showed 48F out in the garage when I walked out there to turn it on a while ago. Feels like it is getting low on fuel, may have to run down to the corner later today and pick up another 5 gallons.

Coffee made, Woman rolled out of the sack a bit ago.

Made some forward progress yesterday.

Lumber unloaded from van and moved into garage before rain arrived. Eventually got all of stored up on the overhead lumber rack except for one long 2 x 6. Might see if I can figure out what I bought that for and get it cut down today so it can be stowed.

Have gotten tired of fighting with extension cords on the floor and lack of power out in the garage so I rehabbed this "extension cord" that I salvaged out of the neighbor's shed last year by sticking a couple of new outlets in it, putting on a proper clamp for the cord, and mounting it on the wall:

The cord is only 18 gauge, but it's less than 25' and none of the machines that it's feeding will be running at the same time so it should be good for the time being until I can get something more permanent installed.

Got handles cut out from the blank for sanding table with the Milwaukee jigsaw and did some work on shaping one of them, mainly to get a little better feel for the sanders:

Also got the dust port mounted and frame for sanding table screwed together. Three cabinet screws in each corner, Woman expressed some doubts as to whether three were actually needed.

Also got two of the Masonite/hardboard pieces cut to width/length and the cross-table supports screwed in.

Plus the two pieces of mahogany for the forstner bit holder glued up:

Forced myself to sit down and go through about a dozen little plastic trays which frozen foods come in that I use to accumulate random small pieces/parts. Got those mostly sorted/consolidated down to three containers: good metal parts (bolts, nuts, screws, etc.), known and unknown plastic and rubber parts, and scrap ferrous metal. More sorting still needed. Some of it will go down into the basement where another hardware sort-out project awaits my attention. The rest of it will go up to the shop to be put into storage up there.

Yesterday's Amazon delivery included some new tools - an Amana pilot hole/countersink bit, a small Japanese pull saw for trimming tasks, and a new Makita ROS and a small assortment of 3M Xtract Hook-N-Loop pads to go with it:

Woman's comment was "... another sander ???"

Which prompted a discussion of the various types of sanders, what they're used for, etc.

She followed up with "Well ... how much was it ?"

... about 1/3 of the cost of that slick new ROS that 3M came out with last year ... which was the one I really wanted ... :giggle:

Baked up that boxed thin crust frozen pizza from Menards for lunch/dinner yesterday, Woman was impressed with how good it was. It wasn't bad but the crust wasn't a Jeno's ...

Started collecting tools that are no longer needed out of the main bathroom.

Deer were out at the bird feeders last night, need to refill their feeder today. Have 2 buckets of whole corn ready to go. Will also refill one of the suet feeders while I'm out there.

Got the jig saw brought in and set by the stairs to the basement. Will get the measurements for the wallboard for the bathroom and get that cut today.

Likely do some work on the sanding table.

Finish the small pieces/parts sort-out in the garage.

Maybe get the chemical cabinet reloaded.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone has a great Friday ...

Just got to church building to do work and power went out. Very windy today. At least I already grabbed lunch.

Work flew by this week. A lot on the plate right now.
Daughter planning for going to college. She's at a tennis tournament in this cold windy weather today. Both my commuter cars giving me some problems.

32F this morning, going to 51. Freeze again tonight.

Buppies, can I buy and plant some small tomato plants yet?

Billy, enjoy your hiking stories and photos.

Some great drone shots.

Drew, hope you have a smooth ride home.

Need to get most of our family's vision tested.

Not sure what's for lunch yet.

The price of diesel here, wipes out their mpg advantage over the gas rivals.

Prayers for our team, our Nation, our Military, and for peace in Ukraine.

I drove a VW gulf on the Autobahn. About 120 kph floored. Lol.
Two of us in Temporary Duty to Heidelberg had a rental VW Golf, got it up to a real 130 kph, but that's only about 81 mph. It was rumored my Jetta TDI got up to 100 + once.

well that was sure fun, not. Rained entire way home and pretty gusty on rt 78, especially with semis blowing by doing at least ten over my speed.
but all's well that ends well. Didn't even wack the mailbox backing in, though it did take me two tries.
very nice experience at this place, they had just finished waxing the rig, looked really nice and now all slimed up again. But not that hard to clean with a pole and brush.
I forgot my headphones so I'm basically deaf now, wow was it noisy in there. Or maybe my ears have just gotten worse....all these things make noise inside due to creaking and groaning; stuff you don't hear when pulling a trailer.

and I'm sure my neighbors will appreciate it that the rv is color coordinated with the house....

headed back out to plug it in, put a small heater in it. Only have 15 amps in garage, but if I only turn one thing on at a time, that works.
Going to be very cold tonight with cold front clearing out this rain.

funny when I got there I was told I need to do a zoom interview with bank. Really?
Apparently they had been stiffed last year by some shyster involving identity theft so now nice lady
wanted to see me with her own eyes. That's fine, asked me about prior addresses, etc. Took two minutes at most.

I think I used a quarter tank of gas getting home, thank goodness it takes regular gas. They told me they changed the engine and gen oil, but I know they
didn't change the fuel filter. Needs front end alignment and tire balance, maybe new front tires, going to make a list. Also made strange hissing sound on part throttle, ?
