Still playing with water softener.
Ran thru 2 regen cycles to see what it was doing. Doesn’t draw much water out during the brine cycle, will take brine tank out and see if a screen in it is clogged.
Read the manual, now understand how it works.

Took brine tank parts out. There was a salt buildup under it, so broke that up and doing a 3rd regen now. No blockage in brine screen or tube, I could blow through it. It still hasn’t drawn down too much water, but this step runs almost 2 hrs.

My old water softener one also filled up to the top with water. The seals were dissolved and the water did not stop till the emergency float stopped the water.

Next step is the seal under the motor, where the plate turns to open & close various ports.
I can check that by simply disconnecting the brine hose during normal usage.

Drew, I have travelled with Vans, Trailers and Motorhomes. Easiest was with motorhome and flat towing a car. Today there are only a few vehicles that can be flat towed. Looking at what is available today for something similar to my 2004 Super C motorhome. They are way up in price. Mine was around $100k. Today something similar is $250k+.

I am really enjoying having no alarm go off in the morning, and being able to lie in bed and read GM instead of racing into w&$k (4 letter word) to beat the traffic.
Going to leave tomorrow for a quick overnight trip to visit dad, supposed to snow in mountains Friday.
Ahhhh your getting there. ;)

In the past I was thinking about a Bluebird motor home with rear diesel engine. They are built like a bus and not stick built with flimsy fiberglass sides. And they have brakes, engine and transmission that are built to last. They are still good value for the money

I used the Remco system for driveline disconnect when towing the Chevy 3/4 ton passenger van. It installs towards the rear on the drive shaft and required welding and balancing but worked out great using a cable in the front grill and used also a tow bar that activated the brakes on the van to make it a safe tow

Afternoon all!
35 now going down to high 20's tonight. Should be in the high 30's low 40's for the week! My kind of winter.
Wife called the doc today. She still can't talk! Looks like a visit to an ear, nose and throat doc coming. I'm doing fine except for my arthritis so can't complain.
Tractor is napping in the garage with a full tank and a maintainer on the battery.
Not doing much outside with the ground covered in snow so I've been playing in the shop again.
Made these today. Will be giving as gifts next week.

Was a fun project and might be my ornament for next years gifts. Will make them smaller to be able to hang on a tree.
Wife is at work today so I will get dinner going for when she gets home. Looks like tacos on the menu!
That's it for now. Need to catch up 15 pages. Post are flying here lately! (that's a good thing)
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Buppies so sorry. Sure makes getting through the day harder.
Plus it's hard for the boss to be sick. Good thing you are mostly off season now.

Phil, those would make very neat xmas tree ornaments. Job security! Keep that lathe running.
More nice smelling sawdust.

one of my regrets leaving Washington NC was losing touch with my next door neighbor's son. He and I had a good relationship, watched him born and grow up.
I was Mr. Drew to him. Very polite kid. When I was leaving I thought he might like his own cub cadet, a miniature "tractor" like Dad's 3 series JD.
So I gave the CC to his Father to give to son when time was ready.
And apparently he loves driving it and picking sticks up with it.
The cart came from Santa this year aka Mr. Drew, and he was out proudly using it Christmas Day. His reaction Christmas morning in the garage was precious
That early hydrostatic CC had a 12hp Kohler, I believe he has modded it already to pointless ignition.
I had totally restored it.

clearly these oil companies are not paying enough taxes.
They avoid taxes through complicated investment credits.
I wonder what rate Mobil finally pays?
no corporation pays taxes.

The customers do.

Jack the taxes on the corporations and the prices will go up.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 10C and it's presently 23C, clear with a gentle breeze.

Not much really happened yesterday. I was able to drop the MC jackets off at the 'Op-Shop', which were generously accepted. A wee bit of grocery shopping with/for my Brisbane Mate + a script collected from the Chemist.

Penelope the pussybeast didn't want to come in last night and, after the possum incident a few days ago, I said "it's your call" and shut the door... at 0600 I woke, opened the door and went back to bed. Shortly thereafter she bounced up on my bed smelling of hay so I knew where she'd 'bunked down' for the night.

That's about it. It's the last full day of my last guest's visit, then I'm back to having the house to myself and the hunt for where my guests 'put things' begins.

Take care all.
