I remember Americans coming up here in the 50s and 60s and raving about Canadian gas and how they got so many more miles to the gallon than they did in the 'states. Lol
It might have something to do with a bigger Canadian (Imperial system back then) Gallon.

Good morning, low temp is 13 and going to a high of 14°F. Wind N 6 mph. Sunny.
Got informed yesterday evening that our kitchen sink is out of commission. The P trap broke. That is the project for today. Should be an easy fix, just buy a new trap and install it. I will check on Home Hardwares' website shortly and if they have two I will get them. I only need one, but if I have a spare then it will never break again.

Buppies, feed a cold, starve a fever. Just drink plenty of liquids, preferably water.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
fell asleep too early, up too early
30 degrees going up to mid 40's, cloudy winter day

Mostly, you're right, there is no rush. I had in the back of my mind if I could pull this off, I would rv to Florida
in two weeks, instead of spending all that money on the train. Not to be.

happy birthday RS, did you get a special sheet cake for your birthday?

I can only remember gas being about 28 cents

Buppies, best wishes for your feeling better soon.

Coffee is brewing. 24° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 35° with a mix of rain and snow in morning and cloudy skies in afternoon. Correct lift arm pin has been installed on snowblower. Pin I made to align wheel, spacer and axle flange worked very well taking off and reinstalling wheel and tire assembly. Went out in woods and cut down what was left of a tree that was damaged in last storm. Hauled it to neighbors burn pile. Today is house and shop cleanup.
When this small Sharp-shinned Hawk shows up. All the smaller birds leave my feeders. Squirrels also leave.

Buppies, hope you are feeling better today.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

Drew, I have travelled with Vans, Trailers and Motorhomes. Easiest was with motorhome and flat towing a car. Today there are only a few vehicles that can be flat towed. Looking at what is available today for something similar to my 2004 Super C motorhome. They are way up in price. Mine was around $100k. Today something similar is $250k+.

read an interesting article on road rage.
Want to know where it is worst?:

Eugene, Oregon, followed by Atlanta; Orlando, Florida; Pittsburgh; Miami; Birmingham, Alabama; Nashville, Tennessee; Cincinnati; Tampa; and Buffalo.

who has the most guns in cars?
Drivers of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Hyundai brands are the most likely to be armed.

Sports cars and BMWs are most guilty of cutting drivers off, and pickup drivers show a specific finger. Minivans brake-check, Jeeps don't yield to other drivers, Volkswagens speed, and Teslas race or chase.

I wonder what it is about Eugene Oregon that has so many angry drivers?

Ron, it's getting like boating, you mean that little boat costs 500 thousand dollars?....
travel trailers/fifth wheels give the most bang for buck. I've now driven a V10 F53 Ford, like many of us.
Thank goodness they have gone to a bigger V8 now instead.
Pulling the 30 foot Jayco trailer behind my air bag equipped Ram was simply a delight. Gosh that towed nicely and that truck
rode so well, with the load automatically leveled. The little MB was fun to drive, but just not big enough. I need some space....which is why
I'm glad I said no to the baby rv I was looking at.

I sent an email to the sales mgr of local Chevrolet dealer, asked him if I could order a truck with super cruise plus max towing. Online build software doesn't allow that.
They say you can tow now with Supercruise, so waiting for reply. I want to be able to pull about 9k safely. That's the most I'd want to pull behind a F150. Beyond that you need to go up to a heavier truck and they ride poorly.

gosh I wish my brother didn't sell my truck when I was in the hospital. But then he didn't think I was coming back.

22 outside this AM, heading to upper 40's.

SO checkup went well. No cancer detected. Recovery time 4 to 12 weeks. All appears good.

Got a call from the Barn contractor while on the road, looks like today they will start showing up for the new roof. Had to cover all the hay with tarps last night. Looks like we still have around 400 bales left, which is good for this time of year.

Need to move some equipment around this morning. If the roof gets done, I imagine siding or painting is in the SO's mind for this summer on the barn. Only two outbuildings left for reno work, and one is leaning. LOL.

Belated B-day wishes, rs. Get well soon, Buppies.

Hope all have a great day, be safe.

No, no BBQ inside store. Some Buc-ees gas stations have BBQ inside, and it's decent.

mostly, cutie pie there. Pray your GD finds work.

Work was good today. I'm giving 4 older machines to another entity within the school. I got them electrically unhooked this morning. Movers coming tomorrow. Some machines might be close to 2 tons heavy. No easy way to get under an old, old drill press.

Last week, we got the chiller for the waterjet replaced with a new working, correct sized model. Not nearly as loud, and since it works, it cycles off when the coolant temp gets down to 50F. Today, we worked on a different chiller. We replaced the circulating pump on a smaller unit attached to the Renishaw AM400 3D laser metal printer. Now awaiting the $500 bucket of 5 gallons of coolant. $100/gallon....ouch.

We painted the plasma jet torchmate 4 x 4 basin with POR15 semi gloss black. If you get that paint on you, it takes over a week to wear off. Hopefully it lasts and keeps the rust minimized.

I'm in the process of shopping vendors for our welding gas cylinders. We don't want to buy our own bottles due to the liability. So we rent. And it adds up. We need about 24 bottles. Not as high as AirGas was charging me. I might get it setup to deliver them just before we need them for the syllabus, and then send them back when used....It will be a bit to keep up with, but that's what calendars are made for.

Drew, maybe I should start playing the power ball too. At least 2 tickets, that way, I double my chances of winning. :)
If I win, the church that God has me attending, would win. Then I'd go look at one of those Grand Wagoneers with the McIntosh sound option.
My extravagance would be one of those small McDonnell Douglas helicopters to go fishing. (Not sure if work would let me park it in the back.)

Prayers for our team.
The only thing worse for getting off your skin is Marine-Tex Epoxy.

And you can do suit/gloves/mask/Tyvek, you’re gonna get some on you somewhere.

Lin fact, if you don’t get some MarineTex on you somewhere, you didn’t use enough. . .

It isn’t the job per se, it is just the timing. Mrs and I are both very happy we found this gig last year! It is just the way life goes, and one either adjusts and keeps it moving, or one gnashes their teeth in the sub-3mbps Darkness. . .

23 going to 48.

Hope you had a great birthday, RS.

Got a lot of little things done yesterday, and the day really flew by.

I am really enjoying having no alarm go off in the morning, and being able to lie in bed and read GM instead of racing into w&$k (4 letter word) to beat the traffic.
Going to leave tomorrow for a quick overnight trip to visit dad, supposed to snow in mountains Friday.

   / Good morning!!!! #162,619
we all wonder why diesel prices haven't dropped like gasoline
appears the combination of record high purchases by China plus Russia's energy impact on Europe
has Europe trying to buy diesel like crazy right now, and US imports to Europe are at a recent high.
supply and demand. I guess Europe is willing to spend more for diesel than US is...

I paid almost 50 cents a gallon less for premium in NC than I do here in PA.
I read that California charges 86 cents a gallon tax where Alaska is around 33 cents.
Regressive tax, regardless of income everyone pays the same. But collection is so easy, so enforced, unlike income...., this is
a gold standard of tax collection. They've got you.

and even with today's $5.15 a gallon diesel, PA raised taxes four cents a gallon more first of the year.

supply and demand liberally greased it seems with greed and opportunism.
profit margins at XOM are gigantic, hundreds of billions of dollars a year.
Not millions. Billions.

clearly these oil companies are not paying enough taxes.
They avoid taxes through complicated investment credits.
I wonder what rate Mobil finally pays?

Buckeye, in one word.....enjoy.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

27 F right now, with Freezing Fog. Luckily yesterday was sunny, mwhich should minimize black ice.

yesteday, I predict the bottom section of the mast and locked in two bolts with nuts and washers so that as the mast is raised, they will pass through two holes and one may simply spin on a couple nuts by had to secure it until the guy lines and other fasteners can be secured.

Today, I will hopefully be able to attach the next section and repeat the assembly mockup, and possibly pre-assemble the steel cable guys.

and I think I just came up with another idea for for an additional bolt location for the top section, by drilling a hole about 1/4” from the end of the EMT and also one through the Star-link post access hole to the opposite side, which will allow me to fish a short bolt up into the tube and slip it through from inside, without it obstructing across one inside of the tubes. . . Coffee is great stuff!!!

Buppies: Mrs and I are finally over our good Ol’ fashioned bronchitis. We have been using a nebulizer with a mixture of 50 parts Saline solution 5% + 10 parts Hydrogen Peroxide + 2 parts Lugol’s solution (iodine+iodide). CONSULT WITH YOUR MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL AS WE ARE NOT DOCTORS but we found this helped immensely for us. YMMV

i hope everyone has a wonderful productive healthy blessed day!!!
