I wonder if best practices says a dentist should inspect his tools when finished?...
When I send the bill down to old dentist, who subbed me out to someone, I'm going to suggest that for the future.

I know surgeons have to count their bandages and tools.
It's the MRI that gives me the creeps. I get them fairly routinely due to falling apart.
What if it sucked it straight up through top of my head?
that doesn't sound like it would end well

I need to go back to sleep but doesn't look promising.
time for an early cup of coffee
Wagtail, late evening for you?
Nope, late arvo/early evening. 1640 Friday.

My wife just expects me to fix what ever is broken, and buy whatever I need to fix it.
I had a batch of fence repairs to do, with a lot of post replacement and new gates I said that I wasn’t going to do it with the 3Pt digger, it kills my neck looking out the back, and it doesn’t do well in our shale with no down pressure. When I pointed out that I could get a fence company to come in and do everything for what a loader mounted hydraulic auger would cost, as simply said “but then you wouldn’t have the hydraulic digger”.
There is a reason that we have been together almost 50 years. And the fence work is done, and I have a hydraulic auger……..

That was a good plan

Those PH diggers are hard to store. I mounted my 3 point on the old tractor just so it is not laying around somewhere

My Grandparents weathered the 1929 Depression and instilled in me "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without”. As long as I don't have to spend too much on tools and parts I try to fix first.
Mine too - I still have the piece of steel billet that my grandfather used as an anvil to straighten nails (and I still use it).

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 8.5C and it's presently 17.2C, overcast but no rain is predicted.

I was somewhat busy yesterday arvo; a wee trip into town, payed my RSL (our version of the "Legion") dues for '23, no mail, stopped to buy a couple of new picture frames. At home I decided to do a wee bit of branch trimming with my 'sawzall', but first I spotted my neighbour doing some string-trimming so I went over and had a great conversation over-the-fence. We'll be over to their place for Christmas lunch (and drinks!).

Today I'll need to leave in a couple of hours to Launceston airport to pick up my Aunt at or around 1530. The extra time to get there is that I still need to use Elephant Pass, but the news is that St Marys Pass could re-open as early as this Monday.

That's about it, take care all.

I feel your pain in the wallet :( our mailbox was destroy twice this year. :( never got refunded.
Our mail box used to be hit regularly but I used the dolly and body hammer routine to fix it although it did not look very pretty after the fix.
Lately I rammed in tee posts in front of the box to the side of traffic direction. The old trick with a baseball bat and leaning out the window does not work any longer
Since then no more damage

hard to store and a real pincheroo on your fingers/hands if not careful.

leaving a PHD on a smaller tractor is the best, ready to plant any time.
Planting auger enables all kinds of projects.
