The gutter cleaning pipe sections are about 3 feet so I guess I could reach up about 20 feet with 4 sections. 30 feet sounds about right for the height of the gutter on the high side, although standing on the ground it looks higher.

59F with steady rain @ 12:30, calling for a high of around 62F.

LWS reports 0.92" since midnight - does not look like any really heavy rains from Nicole will materialize. Rain should end around 21:00.

Yesterdays high hit 68F and was quite a nice day.

Got quite a bit accomplished yesterday.

More juggling pallets and tables around inside the barn.

Got another light fixture hung.

Dug out a groundhog burrow on the south side that went down about 3' on the inside of the barn to point that there was no further tunneling leading from it. Then got it all refilled.

Dug out the (interior) perimeter on the southeast corner so that foam board can be installed.

Moved everything that I didn't want to get wet back inside the barn.

Moved large pile of clay inside to prevent it from getting soaked any further.

Some grading done on the north end of the pad to hopefully prevent any ponding.

Dirt piled up in the opening of the north overhead door so that can be sealed up.

Woman cleaned up the planting bed behind the frog pond and got some day lilies in pots planted there.

Agenda for today:

At the moment, really not much.

Valves/fittings from Amazon to blow out water lines are out for delivery.

Might go over to the barn here in a bit to try and take advantage of the last of the warm temps.

Hope everyone has a great Friday ... (y)

BEF, that looks like a German helmet to me.

Don is having the storm go over him very soon with temps dropping. Still 72F here. A couple more hours to get here, looks like the worst is going north of us...wait and see. The first of the rain is just now falling at 11:13 am. Nice. We still have cracks in the ground.
BEF, maybe he is coming out of a German strong hold and took the helmet off one of the fallen occupants. Run the scenario by him to see it it sparks any follicles of memory.

The Tempest is not reporting (new unit was shipped today) but the manual Cocorahs is showing close to 2". Have to go outside when it stops raining and dump the overflow into the measuring tube to get the exact rain to the 100th inch. Now Tempest came back on-line, temperature dropped 18˚F, now 51˚F and falling.

My first Tempest also suffered an early battery death, but like you, they sent me a complete replacement station promptly. When I got the new station and set it up as a “replacement” so as to keep all my old data, it I took it a little while to come online.
So far today, the Tempest says .25 inches of rain and the Davis is reporting .29, so it’s in the ballpark. All other parameters match pretty well.

They have already e-mailed me detailed instructions on how to set the new station up as a replacement. Good to know it will take time to come on-line so I don't rush it and mess it up or think it's broke. Thanks.

Saw a YouTube video of a girl at an auto parts store asking for headlight fluid. someone set her up.
Also seen some on youtube...
Women asking auto tech where to add oil in her car engine, auto told her and she said no such cap just 710 cap.
Women at town meeting asking the board if they would remove Deer Crossing sign so deer won't cross there anymore and being hit by vehicles.

Yeah you gotta wonder at times.

Just realized I missed lunch, so grabbed a bowl of soup.
Been busy running numbers on retirement again. Other than reducing fuel usage, don’t see many places to cut expenses in order to go full retirement. Might have to look for a tractor driving job.
Without starting SS early, I’ll have to contribute from my retirement nest. Course about 20% to go towards taxes.

No money in my calculations for a cabin yet.

Hasn’t rained in awhile. 1.17”
