Pop, real nice looking mailbox...and there's room for a little alpaca artwork on the side.

Not sure if it will get an alpaca on it this time, as I made a sign for the end of the lane that has one on it. When I first made the mailbox, it had a biplane on it. When I refinished it, it got the alpaca, now after a total rebuild, it will likely have neither..

Good morning! Yesterday was surprising cool after a afternoon haze covered the sky, just barely made 100˚F. 73˚F now heading to 100˚ again. I'm missing out on 100˚ trail work as they sent out another e-mail for this afternoon.

In the garden my squash plant died because of the heat, I have the drip irrigation going every 8 hours for 15 minutes. All of the okra came up surprisingly and now needs to be thinned. Since every seed sprouted I need to thin about 90% of the sprouts. The tomatillos which I started from seed in the garage are liking the garden and starting to bud. The green beans are struggling and only half came up. We need rain bad the town lake is the lowest level in the last three years but only by a half inch.

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 5:15AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High near 100F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
So much for Spring; tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter.

+1 on the mail order prescription thing, but I don't recall if it's USPS or not. I was working up at the gate yesterday when the postman arrived, without my vacation held mail. Which incidentally should have been delivered the day before. He got out of his truck and apologized, but I didn't let him off the hook. I reminded him that this wasn't the first time he'd screwed up on both the start and stop dates for a mail hold, and asked that he do better. Probably a waste of breath, but I don't know what else to do.

Tractor Supply sells Kubota orange in a spray can, Paul, but in my experience it doesn't hold up very well in sunlight and fades badly after a few years. Haven't had much luck with Rustoleum hammered finishes in brush or spray, either, for the same reason.

It's maybe even more important to know when to take a break than it is to keep going sometimes, RS.

Hope the new cart fits on the trailer, Drew. I've had a pair of those plastic ramps for a number of years now, and they've held up well (no pun intended).

When we arrived at my friend's place last Sunday, we learned that the daughter's boyfriend had tested positive for aligatoritus the previous Tuesday, and she'd last seen him the Sunday before. I gave some thought to checking my friend and I into a local motel, but we're both vaccinated and the daughter wasn't feeling any symptoms. Neither am I, but I'll be masking during today's shopping trip.

Found a dead mouse in the snap trap when I got home Monday, but the maggots got to it first. Big mess to clean up, but I'm glad I checked it before the maggots filled the house with flies. Turns out the kitchen garbage can drawer is a pretty good spot for a trap, as that was number four for that location. One of the joys of rural life is sharing the space with wild vermin, that always seem able to find their unwelcome way inside.

I did manage to get out on the tractor and clean up some downed trees at the gate yesterday. That put the hour meter past time to lube the FEL and pushed the fuel gauge too close to empty, so I lubed and fueled and put the tractor away for the day. It was getting too hot outside anyway, and more paperwork was waiting in the much cooler office.

Pretty sunrise this morning.

Unfortunately during yesterday's clean up, the grapple hooked the wire for the gate opener car sensor, so I've got that to repair this morning. Probably won't get much else done but a grocery run, but it's better than doing more paperwork.

Hang in there folks, Friday's comin'!

thanks guys. Frankly I was surprised any would be sitting there on his lot. He buys at end of lease, adds new parts, and resells.
Seems to make a nice business of it.

I called them back and asked if they could install a rear view mirror on the left at eye level that would be hinged; swing back if hit.
They did and will install it. There is the panoramic wide mirror up high but I would rather have a mirror at eye level.

Nice cart Drew, my backseat folds to a flat bed, I like the sides. Like I said, mine won’t fit on my 8’ trailer, I have to back it on and pull the ramp against tires and chain it. Mine is gasoline and has the long top.

Randy, I have a sinking suspicion the cart won't fit on my trailer also. Sigh. I will try going on backwards, worst case I'll go back and trade up for 6x10.

I believe you will be happier with the 10’ trailer, if I didn’t have my 22’ I’d buy a 10’-12’.
