Don, great pix from the trip...nice itinerary. I hope the plant-based diet was just as tasty as you make it.
They try, but I would usually think they should add a certain ingredient to get it right. The cookies were dry, if they would just add applesauce, or some blended dates to the mix. But at least I did not have to worry about them sneaking in cholesterol. My fresh ground coffee was so much better than the ship's coffee. I was thinking how would you get your good coffee on the ship and I came up blank.

Close call. Shoes are easy to replace.

Good morning! 30˚F this is the last freeze for the next 10 days. I always have to be cautious around Easter, there always seems to be one more freeze that will burn the garden. Partly cloudy skies heading to the 70s. Lots of held mail to go through and I started to scalp the yard yesterday to let the Spring grass come out. This month I'll order new EGO batteries.

Feels good to be sitting at home, even if it’s just for a day. Didn’t get much done yesterday, it was dinner time when I got home.
I was greeted by a letter from Philadelphia with photo evidence that I entered an intersection .6 seconds after the light turned red.
But for the mere sum of $100 they will forgive my egregious transgression. I wonder if this is about revenue or safety……..
Ask them to show you the last calibration report for the camera and timer...

it's too bad dieselgate hurt the future of diesel cars so much.
Folks have been burning all kinds of fuel in diesels and now Audi is saying let's burn used vegetable oil.
30% higher cetane. Better cold starting.

When you think of all the fast food restaurants with deep fryers, there must be a huge amount of waste oil available.
Besides, exhaust often smells like popcorn, though too much of that might be a bit much in a big traffic jam.
Pass the butter, pass the salt...

About 15 years ago a guy here sold some sort of kit that allowed the use of waste cooking oil in road diesels. He had an older MB, the exhaust smelled like French fries.

Here they have speed control cameras, they claim you are allowed 12mph above the posted limit. I got a bill, they don’t call them tickets because they have no affect on your license, for going 42 in a 30. Apparently you’re allowed 11.9 over the posted limit. I have no doubt these are revenue machines.

When I worked for a south NJ water company, they got 72 tickets for one morning going through a red light.
It was a backhoe digging at a site with police escort.

This was never supposed to happen as they obviously never looked at the pictures.
The tickets were also sent from the red light camera company, not the police, which is illegal.

There was a trial in Cali for this company and a few people went to jail, but NJ decided not to pursue..........

Good morning to all! Low was at 26°, slightly warmer than has been. High today should be 60° and sunny.

Wng, that was a close call. Don't get complacent, that's what Murphy is waiting for.... The boots still look wearable.

David, caretaker's suite looks good. Inside all complete?

Ken, another set of nice pics..... I'm getting a world tour from my living room (y)

Miss Ron's bird pics..... hope he's doing ok.

Run into town today for some errands, the next 2 days into town for Dr's visits. I am not looking forward to filling the tank....

Everyone have a great day!

37°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 71° today.

Got Wife to the dentist's office yesterday, and after another consultation the dentist decided to change the plan. So, no surgery yesterday. The Wife was not at all upset about this.

We spent the rest of the afternoon running a few errands. We were going to stop for lunch at Quizno's in Highland, but found they are permanently closed. That's a shame. I really liked that place, as it was run by a good guy who understood how to run a restaurant; very clean, very efficient, and very courteous. We ate at a popular sports bar on the other side of town instead, also a good place to eat.

As a Buddhist, Drew, I've lost count of the number of people who can't stop themselves from expressing to me the incredible depths of their enlightenment. It's been my experience over the years that those who can't seem to contain their superior understanding are always the ones who are furthest from the truth. They are often also the ones least receptive to guidance back to the true path. Best of luck with your dissenter.

Philadelphia's red light cameras are notorious, particularly on some of the main roads going North.
Ka ching
I think they have five second yellows, maybe as little as three seconds. Once I see a yellow I stop if I can; dangerous to do if someone is tailgating
you hoping to make the light

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 6:15AM. Clouds and some sun this morning with more clouds for this afternoon. High 76F. Winds light and variable.
The 10-day is now calling for rain Thursday and Friday, ending Saturday morning. Maybe as much as 0.6", it all depends on David's aim with his Pineapple Express.

Yikes, Billy. Glad the boot saved the rest of your foot. Is that it for that boot, or will a gob of Shoe Goo fix it?

I've gotten those letters before, Paul, with a photo showing someone else's face and vehicle. Mailed off a response and never heard anything about it again.

Good point about filling the tank, Ted. Makes it harder for us rural dwellers that depend on services in the city.

Last week I got a "Replacement Value Estimate" from the new homeowners insurance company that was very inaccurate, so yesterday I finally got through to someone to get it updated. I thought most of the changes would lower the value, but instead it went up and so did the insurance premium. Sheesh!

It was such a nice afternoon yesterday I decided to get outside and log some seat time. Gathered up a half dozen or so down trees with the grapple, then put the 4in1 bucket on and moved some dirt. Had to break one hydraulic line on the bucket to get the connector to seat, and it took all my strength standing on the 15" and 18" adjustable wrenches to do it. No idea how that coupler got so tight, but it's a lot looser now.

More dirt moving today, but not until I tackle some housework. Ugh.

BEF, sorry about your wife's relative. I

That was PJ who said that.

Although my sister in FL spent time in the ER while on vacation, and now her husband fell and broke his hip or leg, so they have to delay their return trip to Ohio.
