Not too much going on...dump run, definitely; than a couple minor chores

Haven't taken the test yet...it's not really required to get certified, but I guess I'll give it a go sometime this weekend

Good Morning.
It’s 47 for today, gets cold and supposed to snow overnight.

Yesterday we took Emily to the vet, bloodwork was all normal, so they suspect the cause of the seizure is neurological. Said they could do an MRI and possible surgery. Considering she is 9-1/2 years old, which is up there for a large breed, we are not going to pursue anything that aggressive. Just give her anti seizure medication and let her continue to be a happy dog.
Her demeanor is amazing. While sitting in the waiting room, every person, vet, tech, or other people had to stop and pet her. No other dog in the room got that treatment.

I did get the ductwork finished in the basement when we got home, but not much else for the day.

Today I’m going to help with a mini-split install with my mechanical contractor buddy. When I get home I’ve got a welding project for another friend, making some lumber racks for his shop.

I counted 3 F’s

Good morning! 31 now, temps to slowly drop all day.

The warm days of late has done wonders at starting to get rid of the ice from the ice storm last week. Still a ways to go. Temps in the 50’s are predicted this week. That should help.

My wife surprised me this morning. She suggested we go to the shelter to what is available. It has only been a week. The 2 surviving cats don’t even act like anything has changed. So guess we make a road trip this afternoon.

I have been S L O W L Y rebuilding a 1952 BSA M33. With a lot of emphasis on slowly. Have had a mental block over the fuel tank mounting. Tanks for this specific model impossible to find, so I don’t want to damage this tank due to incorrect mounting. I have the right pieces, but there is no good information on how the pieces fit. A friend in the UK is hung up on the same thing with his M20. I have been looking at a lot of grainy photo’s, Mike has been measuring ancient NOS rubber parts, and between the 2 of us, think we figured it out this week. I now have the tank mounted and it looks like it will work! Finally!

Everyone stay safe out there!

RNG, I know you have explained this before but I'll cry age here, could you explain the history of your BMW painted
like a zebra please. Is it a copy of something else or your original design?
That paint job is the product of a ten year old boy watching too much TV back in the '60s, Drew. There was a John Wayne movie called Hitari that came out back then, and it featured a vet in Africa that went around in an olive drab Land Rover painted with black zebra stripes. Later, a TV series called Daktari featured the same theme, but used white Jeeps painted the same way.

More than thirty years later, I bought a purple motorcycle, and while I wasn't exactly in love with the color, I could live with it until the Barney jokes started. Since it was a dual sport bike, an off road theme seemed appropriate, and that Daktari zebra paint job sprang to mind. Hours and tons of tape, paint, and sandpaper later, Barney was in the rear view mirrors. When I logged yesterday's oil change, I noticed that the odometer now reads nearly 155,000, miles, all but 18,000 of which I've put on in the past 22 years.

Morning all, 48 going to 55, and still calling for snow tomorrow, though not much.
My company has a number of ads in the superbowl from Pringles to Volvo, so we will see how they did.

Today I am out on the woods while the kid is at band practice.

BEF - bubble wrap and ice cleats
Drew-let me know if you want me to stop by and drill that stump for you. Could make a nice short term fire pit
Alien- be careful with the rib- will need to take it easy for a while.
RNG - I showed hitari to my wife who is not a big John Wayne fan. We have been on safari in Africa, though not Tanzania and she really liked that movie, so now she is still not a fan, but can say she likes at least one of his movies.

I saw some F's and other letters :)

Gotta go, vines won't get rid of themselves.

Stay safe and be well,
They used to use these as forest tractors in India, we rode one up to the Amber fort.
Nothing like riding high up on a narrow cliff road in a place where liability is not really a concept.
Have ridden a number of elephants and camels, but prefer horses.

what a great story, thanks RNG.
You can make up great stories of all the safaris you have been on.
Once there was a zebra that posed by my bike...
Well loved bike, that's a lot of miles. Has the engine been rebuilt? rings?
