Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 5:15AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High near 80F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Temperatures way above normal are forecast through the weekend and into next week, all without a drop of rain. Gonna be a long, hot, summer.
Good thing you came along when you did, Bird, or the real owner of those packages may have never seen them. In the same vein, I was expecting last week's held mail to be delivered yesterday, but there was no sign of it. Wonder where it ended up?
Much of Highway 1 on the coast is still just the same as it was in '66, Eric. Others, though, have seen vast changes due mostly to landslides. Hope your cherry harvest isn't hurt too badly.
I had the same experience when I tried to replace the tires on the Kubota side-by-side, Check. The Kubota dealer wouldn't sell just the tires, only the ones already mounted on new wheels. I was able to find tires with a more aggressive tread pattern of that size that would fit, for a much better price, then got to struggle trying to get the beads to seat. Hated to do it, but finally ended up using the starter fluid trick. But all these years later they're still going strong and barring a catastrophic failure, will probably outlast me.
It's almost as if Kubota never intended its vehicles to last that long, eh Doug?
Too bad they can't do both procedures at the same time, Drew.
If 8 hours is part time, I'd hate to work full time for that guy, Thomas!
Yesterday could be your longest post ever, Bruce!
Gosh, I could have saved a lot of good money employing those "welding techniques", Paul. And probably ruined my eyes, too.
I noticed a wisp of smoke and a slight melting plastic smell coming from the headlight at the end of Sunday's ride, and today I found the cause. The LED "bulb" had backed out of the plastic H4 adapter ring, and one of the LEDs had gotten hot enough to melt some of the adapter. Took it all apart, cleaned the melted plastic off the LEDs, then put it all back together in the very confined space, making sure there was nothing causing it to twist apart again. Thinking a zip tie or two somewhere in there wouldn't be a bad idea, either. Then got the touring bike running, set the timing, and called it quits. Still need to put the front cover back on, but I've done that job often enough to know that the chance of burning my fingers on the head pipes is just too great. So that and taking a ride is on today's agenda.
Next week is our motorcycle club's annual campout in Death Valley, and this beautiful weather has me thinking about going. Might also be too soon for another trip, too.
Happy Hump Day, folks!
