Good morning!!!!

Good morning all. Noticed this morning that a few more wild Cherries have broken bud. Some call this the "false Spring", as the worst of our winter weather is often still ahead of us. Even so it is a sight that cheers on cold wet mornings.

RNG, for once I know a little of the place you visited last week. My cousin drove me and my mom there from LA and up the coast road through Monterey to San Francisco back in '66. It was the first time I had seen sea otters. My mom was not impressed - not the otters fault, she just didn't like my cousin driving one handed up the middle of the road while pointing out to sea !

Good Morning.
It’s 22 now, but might get to 50 under clear skies today.

Yesterday was mostly inside, never got to the hangar, but did make some progress with paperwork. Was finally able to access FAA site using my old Win7 laptop and it’s version of IE. Did some cleanup and repairs in the shop, nothing noteworthy.

Today I get to visit Detroit, or Ypsilanti to be more specific. I get to wait at Willow Run airport while passengers attend a dinner meeting. It’s hard to imagine that Ford was turning out B24’s there at a rate of one an hour in the 1940’s.

Good morning, low temp 18 and the high to 32°F. Wind ESE 13 mph. Flurries with a risk of freezing drizzle.

Went out and checked on the Jeep yesterday morning and it had 12.46 volts in the battery. She fired right up, backed it out of the snow bank it was in, dropped the trailer (no lights) and went to town. $60.oo worth of gas only brought it up to 3/4 full and I started with a tad under 1/4. $1.64/Litre = $6.20/US gallon. Came back home after grabbing the mail, hooked up the trailer and stuffed it back into the snow bank. The portable shelter it used to live in is now occupied by the backhoe, so I nose the Jeep in over the subframe and that keeps the hood and windows clear of snow.

DILs funeral is all paid for, now she can croak whenever she wants. I still don't agree with her methods, but that is not my decision.

The new driveway I picked up is only two cars long and 1.5 wide. He is all paid up until next February 2023 and I will probably let him go until the end of the month. I told him that he is only covering the fuel, so is the other paying customer, paying for the fuel. The disabled one makes a really good relish, she pays me in relish and baked goods.

With it getting as warm as it is forecast, I may do the fuel sending unit today and maybe the horn as well. We will see. Maybe conserve energy.

Have a safe day all
I'm a huge fan of trading services for baked goods Used to trim limbs and trees back for little old lady who lived at the end of the street. Shovel out her automated gate for her driveway as well when needed in the winter.

Payment was homemade Dutch apple pies

NWS says it's 26 degrees in Denton, but here, 10 miles south of Denton shows to be 36 degrees, but going for a sunny 69 today. We're having very pretty weather this week, except for a lack of needed rain.

Some of you have posted some interesting stories about FedEx, UPS, and USPS deliveries, so I gotta tell you what I saw yesterday.

About 2 p.m. I happened to be in the kitchen when I noticed a FedEx van slowing down as it passed my house. It stopped in front the house just north of me. The first thing I noticed was it being on my side of the street, stopping on the left side of the street instead of the right side, and it stopped in front of the house next door, and I've NEVER known of him to have anything delivered. But then my wife asked what I was laughing about, because the smallest female I've ever seen driving one of those trucks was struggling to carry a big box from her truck to the house next door. That box was about 6' long, I'd guess 2.5' wide, and about a foot thick. I have no idea what it weighed, but she was managing to carry it, not drag it.

About the same time, I noticed a good sized piece of paper trash in the yard next door that would eventually be blowing into my yard, so I went out the front door to go pick up that piece of trash, just as that young lady was struggling to deliver a second box, just like the first. She set both of them on the walk near the front door. Of course I also noticed the neighbor's pickup truck was not there, and he has not been getting out much at all lately. So just as I'm picking up that paper trash, the young lady gets back in her truck, starts moving foward, stopped in about 6 feet, backed up to where I was, and before I could say anything, she said, "Just a minute", got up and went into the back of her truck. I began to wonder what was going on, when she came back to the door of the truck and tried to hand me a box that was at least 2.5' square. I told her, "I don't live here; I live next door." But at the same time, I also noticed the name and address on that box, so I told her, "This is not the address shown on this box."

She needed to go two houses farther north. So she disappeared back into her truck, and I went and looked at the labels on the boxes she had left by the door of the house. Sure enough, they belonged to the same address as the box she had tried to give me. So she was still somewhere in her truck and I started on home. Then I saw her go pick up the boxes, one at a time and manage to get them back in her truck, then slowly drive on up to where they were addresssed. I assume she got them delivered.

Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 5:15AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High near 80F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Temperatures way above normal are forecast through the weekend and into next week, all without a drop of rain. Gonna be a long, hot, summer.

Good thing you came along when you did, Bird, or the real owner of those packages may have never seen them. In the same vein, I was expecting last week's held mail to be delivered yesterday, but there was no sign of it. Wonder where it ended up?

Much of Highway 1 on the coast is still just the same as it was in '66, Eric. Others, though, have seen vast changes due mostly to landslides. Hope your cherry harvest isn't hurt too badly.

I had the same experience when I tried to replace the tires on the Kubota side-by-side, Check. The Kubota dealer wouldn't sell just the tires, only the ones already mounted on new wheels. I was able to find tires with a more aggressive tread pattern of that size that would fit, for a much better price, then got to struggle trying to get the beads to seat. Hated to do it, but finally ended up using the starter fluid trick. But all these years later they're still going strong and barring a catastrophic failure, will probably outlast me.

It's almost as if Kubota never intended its vehicles to last that long, eh Doug?

Too bad they can't do both procedures at the same time, Drew.

If 8 hours is part time, I'd hate to work full time for that guy, Thomas!

Yesterday could be your longest post ever, Bruce!

Gosh, I could have saved a lot of good money employing those "welding techniques", Paul. And probably ruined my eyes, too.

I noticed a wisp of smoke and a slight melting plastic smell coming from the headlight at the end of Sunday's ride, and today I found the cause. The LED "bulb" had backed out of the plastic H4 adapter ring, and one of the LEDs had gotten hot enough to melt some of the adapter. Took it all apart, cleaned the melted plastic off the LEDs, then put it all back together in the very confined space, making sure there was nothing causing it to twist apart again. Thinking a zip tie or two somewhere in there wouldn't be a bad idea, either. Then got the touring bike running, set the timing, and called it quits. Still need to put the front cover back on, but I've done that job often enough to know that the chance of burning my fingers on the head pipes is just too great. So that and taking a ride is on today's agenda.

Next week is our motorcycle club's annual campout in Death Valley, and this beautiful weather has me thinking about going. Might also be too soon for another trip, too.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Morning all, 24 and sun is up!
Too much going on at work, not getting much fun stuff done

Drew-do you get to keep heart monitor as trophy for having no heart problems?

Mostly - welcome back, seems you caught up in the summary pretty quick, not sure how as it must be quite a bit of work, and well appreciated!

Alien- that fan is pining for the fjords.

RNG - I don't think I have been through Death Valley, only by it a number of times. Anything to see? Take pictures please.

Stay safe and be well,

We were in New Orleans the year after the hurricane. Still people rebuilding and we decided to contribute to the local economy.
One day we were walking a little after 1pm and a guy pulls up with a smoker on his truck. The locals all came out and got on line, as did we. Great BBQ, and a slice of white bread. One of the best meals we had there.

A little while latter:
