Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 7:00AM. Sunny. High 77F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Still no rain in the 10-day.
Wow, you folks were busy busy busy over the weekend. Took a long time to catch up. Sorry about all the ice. That's tough no matter where you are, but if you're not even used to driving in snow, ice is impossible.
Glad your knee is OK, Don. Don't worry, you'll catch up, too.
The trip started off Thursday on a frosty morning, but by noon it was time to shed a layer and go to lighter gloves. The interior mountains and valleys along the way were mostly green from the December rains, but most showed signs of drying out, and few had any wildflower color to show. We had nice weather all weekend, with highs in the mid 70s F and light winds. Morro Bay is a cute little town, evenly split between the tourists and fishermen with a very active harbor. Would be a great, safe, family friendly place to live, but when I checked the real estate listings, even a modest 1100 sq. ft. home would cost almost a million dollars.

We found some great restaurants and made pigs of ourselves, bringing home lots of leftovers.
Lots of otters in the harbor, this mama had a baby with her.
Lots of interesting street art, though this seat looked a little hard.
Morro Bay is named for the morro rocks in the area, which are a string of nine volcano cores that stick up from the surrounding landscape. We were able to walk most of the way around this one at the beach. People had built up little piles of rocks around the base on this side of it. There must have been a hundred of them.
The zebra bike ran great as always, though the LED headlight bulb somehow came adrift and needs attention. And yesterday at the last gas stop I caught my foot on the bag behind the seat when I was getting on and knocked the whole thing over. Sent myself sprawling but the riding suit absorbed most of the blow. And a nice young man helped me get it back up on the wheels. He did most of the work because my feet kept sliding on the spilled gasoline. It's due for a valve adjustment and also needs a brake flush. And since I can't remember when it was last done, I'll change the final drive and transmission oil, too. First I wanna get the touring bike off the lift, so I'll finish it up this morning.
