63°F and cloudy this morning, going all the way up to 64° today. Cool front is finally coming through today, sending us down into the 40s overnight. Autumn is getting settled in here. We had rain starting in the early evening and lasting through the night. Slow and steady, good rain.

Helped the neighbor across the road yesterday evening move some stuff from his truck into his house, a small roll-top desk and a very heavy small safe. His father had a stroke recently and had to move into a care facility, so he and his siblings are cleaning out the house. It had just started to rain when I was walking over there, and he gave me grief for bringing rain with me. I reminded him that he lives west of me, so it actually got to him first. 😁

I think I'll probably follow the old advice about any new MS OS, and wait at least until Service Pack 2 is released before trying Win11. I've already been frustrated with my current laptop, and will probably just get something new. Going to have to eventually upgrade the studio computer as well.

I don't remember SolidWorks as all that friendly from a support standpoint, ... , good software companies keep links to older versions.
This was my first experience with their support, and I was not impressed either. I had that viewer program on the computer at my last job, and had no issues with it. I was rather put off by the dismissive nature of his response regarding getting an older version that would work on my system.

The one I downloaded is called ABViewer14, and it allows me to move around and take measurements on models, which is all I really need.

Good morning! 72˚F, cloudy skies. That cool front will change the wind direction here and keep the temps in the upper 70s this afternoon. We are not expecting upper 40s till Sunday and Monday morning.

Since no rain is expected I'll turn on the garden irrigation system again to keep the newly planted seeds moist. Yard and garage maintenance today.

67-82 today, like everyone else in the east, much cooler Sunday.
Got the EZGO tuned up and now discovered that the ground speed governor is sticking so when you nas the pedal the spring isn’t pushing the throttle open sometimes. It sat for three years and all those things happen when stuff sits unused. A little PB Blaster ought to fix it.
I may have to mow one more time, not sure yet. Still have to service both tractors and the zero turn, truck is due as well.

Drew, there are two places here that make genuine Ruebens and they are now $18 and $21. Last year they were both $5 cheaper.

Last big car show tomorrow hosted by my second club. Car shows are like mowing grass, can’t wait for the first one and can’t wait for the last one.

I had bloodwork yesterday, nephrologist appointment on Monday, I’m praying my numbers are still ok.

Tomorrow is Ellen’s birthday as well, so a lot of family are coming over for cake and ice cream.
I have to get busy, lots going on.

Dry weather for last two days has let me get on with more painting. My right arm is now complaining, it will either have to be left hand brush strokes for the rest of this afternoon, or else I take it easy and risk the weather for tomorrow. Whichever I go with, I am likely to regret it ;)
Might want to think of upgrading the slightly older equipment to Linux.
That is a good suggestion for older equipment that is struggling.
I had a mac mini that wasn't getting much use, so last winter I converted it to Linux. Since then I have been running an identical python program 24/7 on both that and a Windows 10 laptop. The Linux is flawless, while windows has needed a lot more restarts to keep it running (all due to operating system updates).

Not sure I have ever been hit by a walnut, Horse apple, or any other sort of falling object from a tree
Reminds me of the joke from school days ...

Why do elephants paint their toenails red ? - to hide in cherry trees.
How did Tarzan die ? - picking cherries.

76F and mostly cloudy @ 11:30, heading up to a high of 80F ... today might well be the last time in 2021 that we see a high temp that warm.

But I'd be happy to be wrong on that ... :giggle:

At any rate, calling for afternoon showers or thunderstorms later - looks like best chances around 17:00 - 18:00.

Agenda for today:

Check front to see whether it needs mowed and if so get that done before the rain gets here.

Mow compost/woodlot.

Re-screen remaining compost.

Move some treasure items from east frog pond planting bed into barn.

Move old fluids and waste oil up to shop.

Menards order ready to be picked up.

Amazon order due in.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)
