Buckeye.. I just use paint.NET for photos. I have photoshop but Paint is so darn quick and easy I use it 99% of the time. Mainly for resizing. I only use Photoshop if I am cropping an object out of an image.

Windows video player is to view pics, not edit. I use Irfanview to edit, and to batch rename with the date, script that pulls date and time from metadata and uses it for picture name.
I’ll download latest and install it.

71 high of 94 still dry rain within one half mile still no joy

Prayers for all

I had the same lack of joy last night, probably had inches of rain just to the south, none for us.

79F and partly cloudy @ 10:30, HI 82, heading up 87F for a high. There's a large area of severe thunderstorm activity to west that's heading this way. The southern portion that is most likely to effect us is capable of producing up to 70 mph winds ... along with torrential rains ... should be here in a few minutes if it holds together ... :(

Made the run to Menards yesterday and picked up the small order I had placed online.

Also took my rebate coupons along and did a little addition shopping while I was there: another 75 retaining wall blocks, 5 more bags of concrete, a quart of concrete bonding additive, 4 50# bags of fertilizer (which was on sale), and two gallons of paint for the exterior of the shop.

After I got back we worked on trimming the forsythia clump some more. Got six bucketloads of trimmings hauled up and to the burn pile and three bucketloads added to the compost pile. Starting to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel:

Deer were out, feeling frisky, and making the move to the apple tree ... hoping to get there before the others:

But were not quite quick enough:

The rain has started.

Hope everyone has a great day ... (y)

When I got home from work yesterday, I noted that the steep hill from the front yard down to the road ditch had been roughly mowed. When I asked The Wife who did it - figuring it was the oldest boy - she said she didn't even know it had been mowed. Best guess is that it was one of the county tractors with a boom mower. They've never done that on our hill before, but I don't hate that they did. The crab grass was getting crazy there, too, and I wasn't looking forward to getting after it with the line trimmer in this heat.

Good morning to all! Low of 58, going up to 84. A better chance at some t-storms this afternoon.

I just piddled around in the shop yesterday, just couldn't get motivated to take the trimmer for a walk. That will be this morning, while it is cool. There is only a small area that is 'necessary' to finish. The other area to do is the materials stockpile, but that can be done at a leisurely pace whenever....

We came up with a landscape idea for the larger open areas of the "courtyard". The sod idea was too costly (about $3k), seeding the area would be a royal pain and take forever to get started, and mulch or stone would just be 'blah'.
So, we thought a walking path meandering through the area, creating smaller areas or flower beds abutting the other beds, would make good use of the area. We have a set of wrought iron outdoor table and chairs that will finally get an appropriate home (and some good use). Not a quick project, but will be a nice project for the rest of the season.

I was watching a 'murder' of crows this morning having a good time just swooping and chasing each other. Flying high / soaring, then dive bombing other crows. Really looked like they were just having fun! Normally there are groups of 4-6 hanging around.... they must have had a "block party" or reunion.... at least 25-30 flying around together.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Seems like the worst has passed but light rain and rumbles of thunder continue, looks like it dropped 0.39" so far and pushed the temp down to 69F. If the sun comes out later it's probably gonna be rude.

Not enough flow to overtop the creek crossing thankfully.

And the tomato plants did survive the winds ... plus everything got a good watering ...(y)

good advice Newbury, thank you.

as the sun was coming up, hustled outside and washed car just as the heat hit.
Now HI is at 98 and climbing fast, just going to be yukky this afternoon.
Came in soaked in sweat, tossed the golf shirt and happy to sit here trying to stop sweating.
Aimed a fan at me, that always helps.

69°F and another 2.04 inches rain and still coming down. Another inside day.

Our Governor reinstated COVID restrictions. 50% capacity limits, max 10 people inside, max 25 outside gatherings.

I still see Mandatory vax as something of last resort in most cases. Also see vax as a personal choice that should be respected at least until full FDA authorization. But not as a single, isolated choice. Respect that taking advantage of stimulus money, ppe, unemployment plus ups, eviction moratorium, etc was a part of the choice. Accept the benefit, accept the shot. Accept the new childcare $$, everybody in family gets shot. Legit medical/religious exceptions. Otherwise refuse the shot, then payback the money. IRS still has your address. Bet we’d see the shot needle move up quickly. Seems right now the only perceived drawback to not getting the shot is personally getting COVID-19 and this population seems to think that’s anybody but them and don’t care. Choices have consequences.

Rant over

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

More than half the folks in supermarket yesterday were wearing masks.
I thought I had ten of them in the car but had cleaned them out....too soon.
So no mask for me yesterday and honestly I didn't feel safe in there.
I'm now back to wearing masks in high density public places.
I may not get sick, or as sick, but this is to minimize my chance of being
a covid carrier.

David, I don't think some folks have a clue as to what it means to be a good citizen.
The discussion usually centers on ME instead of US...

been on phone with both JD and Kubota sales folks. Both were very competent, Kubota guy was from
another store but was the company tractor expert and he was a delight to deal with.
I guess he felt the same way because he said this discussion usually takes three times as long and it was
nice to talk to someone who knew exactly what he wanted. Thank you TBN wisdom...

93/111 sure not going outside
