42 and sunny going to 72.

Congrats on the many years of happy marriage. We are in our 43rd year and seems like yesterday we were walking down the aisle.

Eric, my wife was asking me yesterday where I want my ashes, and my reply was similar to yours, except I made it more challenging by adding a mountain and a beach (more for her to enjoy the travel).

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 5:15AM. Partly cloudy. High around 70F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
No rain in the 10-day, but by this time next week, the highs will be in the low 80s F.😓

That's a beautiful spot for a final rest, Eric. If you start the paperwork now, will it be ready by the time it's needed?😄

Was only going out for an hour or so yesterday, but I couldn't stop until I found the end of the road. Well, the Bucks Lake road anyway, and I pretty much knew before I went up there that it would at some point disappear under the snow. Thought maybe I could get through going the back way, but it was closed, too. Maybe it'll be open come Memorial Day, but there's no guarantee of that, either. Many years ago I laid out a poker run for our motorcycle club over this road, but it hadn't thawed out yet for the holiday. The route sheets told people not to go up there if they hadn't reached a certain point by a certain time, but some people insisted it was my fault that they ignored the instructions...😄

When I got home I decided to balance out what up until then had been a perfectly fine day by tracking down the leak in the side-by-side cooling system. Pulled a couple hoses, one from a tank that started oozing something that looked like gray milk shake, the other, being the lower radiator hose, was just water. Made a fine mess on the driveway, but it was the lower radiator hose that was the culprit. One small split just past where a clamp attached at one end, over which I applied a bicycle tube patch as a stop gap measure until a new hose can be sourced. That end connected to the make shift part that was installed to fix a previous leak, so while I was under there I installed the proper part. I was going to also replace the fan belt, but the new belt was, of course, the wrong size. So it looks like I get to see the Kubota dealer this week, and scrape my knuckles again replacing that lower hose when I get home (assuming the hose is in stock; I'll find out later this morning if it's a special order).

Hope everyone's week gets off to a fine start!

First full mowing of the yard and string trimming was Saturday.

My wife and I got our 2nd Moderna shots this weekend, so we are now "Post-Moderna." No side effects (yet) other than the typical sore arm. On the way back from her shot on Saturday, stopped at the Kubota dealer in Fredericksburg and picked up a pole saw attachment for my 58V battery string trimmer...it's not a recommended power head, but it works. I tested it, but looking forward to some use...my first pole saw. My shot was yesterday.

Beautiful place. Why is there such an abrupt end to the snow clearing? ...beginning of National Forest land or something?

There's a "snow park" parking area at the side of the road there, and they keep the road open to that point so folks can get their snow buggies and such up there all winter. Apparently folks leave their vehicles parked there for the season, as there were dozens of tracked vehicles, many of them 4x4 pickup trucks with tracks, parked in that lot.

Here's a shot of one of the blowers they use on that road. I hope it's done for the season!
