Good morning!!!!

Good morning all. A tiny gap opened up in the fast moving clouds when me and Max went out first thing this morning. I was taken by surprise as sunlight took the opportunity to race across the ground, tear across a distant field, flash along the tops of some far off trees and finally pick out like a searchlight the brilliant white wings of 3 swans flying into the unforgiving Russian wind. Ten seconds later the show was over as clouds closed ranks and sent down another flurry of snow. Max was not that impressed, he just wanted to get back to the woodburner.

Wng, CO2 is great for totally recoilless shooting, though I once had a CO2 pistol (after powder handguns got banned here) that was always temperamental when it came to sealing onto the capsule. Got close to frostbite a few times when the liquified gas came rushing out of the pistol grips :)

Kyle, going off with other families is certainly all part of the fun of growing up and seeing what others do. So what bucket list things did they invite you along to do ?

Too many to list right now. I just feel blessed.

I've gotten to go to deer hunting on a 750 acre working ranch in far south Texas. A 4 day trip to a 17,000 acre ranch, just north of Big Bend National park in west Texas. We flew out there in a STOL Seneca airplane. A snow skiing trip to Ruidoso New Mexico. Countless salt water fishing trips to the Texas coast, where I was taught to fish the waters. I was taken to the flattrack/TT steeplechase M/C races in the Astrodome. My dad had left us when I was 8. Other men stepped up, and gave me countless life lessons.

good Monday morning all. It's mighty cold out and will be for the next ten days. 15 out now, only getting up to 32 today.
At least it will be a sunny day, and then snow showers tonight. On and off snow actually all week.

up too early, read my book instead of watching game and after yesterday's exercise in the snow went to bed early.

save my change/coins in a big plastic pretzel jar, half full and need to get it to bank. Made mistake of letting it fill up last time and it was too heavy
to pick up. Guess I'll have to call bank and find out if I need an appt to do this. I see a machine at the supermarket but I'm sure there's a fee for using it.

With Coin Star .. there's a fee to get cash but .. no fee to get a gift card or donate to a charity.

Good morning all, 18 going up to 30, got snow cleared out both houses pretty well, had at least 7"
Lucky I did get most cleared, as cold snap turned a lot of it to ice.

Today I need to clear a path through the snow for oil delivery, more $$$$$

Ron -glad you got to see your son and DIL-sounds like a nice day

Mahommes got so let down by his team. Bet he looked like he finished a boxing match instead of a football game that night!

NHBX - hope your second shot schedule comes through soon

PopG - sorry to hear about the daughters accident - she ok?

L4N - hope DIL ok and not a long term thing

BEF - praying for a fast recovery for your brother

I remember when I was about 10, we had a whole bunch of families do a weekend in the poconos, rented a big place with a loft for us kids.
That was so much fun for all of us. ski/toboggan.

Stay safe and be well.

Good morning to all! Low of 30, going up to 48. Today will be the warmest of the week, temps dropping to the low 30's by weeks end. The weather guessers are hinting at maybe some moisture on Friday.

Yesterday gave me the chance to water everything outside, had to do it manually with a hose. Apparently the drip line was frozen somewhere, I wasn't going to take the time to find out where. Hand watering took 2 1/2 hours, gave me some exercise pulling around a 100' hose.

Only one calamity.... I was pulling the hose, stepping backwards, when the leg with the bad knee caught a little clump of grass.... and over I went... I am glad that I have been able to perfect my 'tuck and roll' skills... All is good, no apparent injuries, except to my pride!

Apparently, I purchased 2 right hand lid supports for the blanket chest. So went online to Ace Hardware to see if they had any. The site showed multiple counts of all types. Took the drive over there (about 15 miles), only to find they had NONE! I was angry to say the least.... the idiots working there had no clue as to what they were looking for even after showing them a picture of the supports. They even looked up their stock, which showed they should be there..... I left empty handed.

I too, still remember going with friends and their families on outings... what a treat! Out fishing on Barnegat Bay, up to the Pocono Mts, even just to the local drive in on Saturday night.... that was $2 a car load.... one family had a big old station wagon.... we would cram at least 10 kids into it! The good old days for sure!

Ron, you guys sure caught the moment with the squirrel... he sure looks to be posing!

Need to run some errands this morning, then stop at the local lumber center to see if they have any supports. Hopefully shop time this afternoon.

Everyone have a great day!

18°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 25° today. Snow or wintry mix expected most of this week.

Older gentleman and his wife came by Friday evening to pick up the Bowflex, which my Wife had listed on Facebook Marketplace. They drove about 60 miles from the west side of the STL area. Really nice people, who hung around a bit and chatted for awhile. He said he's retiring in a few months, and wanted something to maintain his fitness when he's no longer working every day.
The new Nordictrack rowing machine showed up early Saturday morning. The delivery guys brought it into the sunroom, and The Wife and I moved it to the basement, unboxed it, assembled it, and rolled it to it's final destination in the walkout porch next to the stationary bike. Got it registered, signed into the iFit account, and took a maiden 24 minute rowing workout. Definitely gonna like this thing.

Temp Sunday morning was +5°F with a windchill of -8°. That was a cold trip to the chicken coop. Never got warmer than 16° all day. Carried the rower box out to the burn pile in the afternoon, and that was my only other chore outside.

A lot of great snow pics from youse guys. We got all of a light dusting Saturday night. I'm OK with that.

My dad had left us when I was 8. Other men stepped up, and gave me countless life lessons.

You were one of the fortunate one's, Kyle. It's too bad that doesn't happen in all those same situations.

How to cash in your coins at Coinstar

I called local Giant, they confirmed they have Coin Star (yet Coinstar website does not list them ??) and no they have no option for Amazon, machine prints out
a receipt, you take it to teller and get the cash, minus 11.9 percent. Called my bank Wells Fargo, they don't do it at all, and if they accept money it must all be wrapped.
Nearest coinstar location that shows full services in is Levittown, quite a drive.
Struck out.

beautiful bright blue sunny day

update: checked coinstar website and came in from a different direction, this time it showed my local
Giant as an authorized coinstar location. Which of course begs the question whether the asst store mgr knows what
he is talking about, or is only aware of the receipts brought to his staff, versus any other receipt the machine prints out for Amazon and others.

16F and cloudy @ 10:45, headed up to a high of 25F for the day.

Refill hopper, two sunflower tube, two nyjer, squirrel, ear of corn, deer, and one suet feeder yesterday. Mob of blackbirds back out there again today.

Fish fed, with some additional maintenance, probably more today.

Van started yesterday with no issues (was above 20F), made trip Menards, got fuel at the Meijers on the way out, picked up hot wings at the local pizza joint on way home which makes the second night in a row we've had them (had a hankering :D) ... probably clean up the leftovers for lunch today.

Found out buttermilk got tossed, asked Woman if it was bad - reply: "I don't know ... how would I tell ?" ...

Neither of us are a fan of buttermilk for anything other than an ingredient apparently. Will have to make some for the sheet cake today.

Thinking about thawing some salmon for dinner this evening.

Watched some of the first half of the Super Bowl and the halftime show then watched a couple of movies which were pretty good.

This is recycle week so tomorrow is recycle day ... the can is nearly full, so hauling it up to the road is on the menu (not looking forward to it)

Other than that no real plans.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...
