I have never seen a Owl at my place. I do hear them. Hawk was back yesterday. Keeping it’s distance. About 300’ out.

Good morning all. A tiny gap opened up in the fast moving clouds when me and Max went out first thing this morning. I was taken by surprise as sunlight took the opportunity to race across the ground, tear across a distant field, flash along the tops of some far off trees and finally pick out like a searchlight the brilliant white wings of 3 swans flying into the unforgiving Russian wind. Ten seconds later the show was over as clouds closed ranks and sent down another flurry of snow. Max was not that impressed, he just wanted to get back to the woodburner.

Eric, I've been primarily shooting an air rifle, lately, too... mine is CO2.
Wng, CO2 is great for totally recoilless shooting, though I once had a CO2 pistol (after powder handguns got banned here) that was always temperamental when it came to sealing onto the capsule. Got close to frostbite a few times when the liquified gas came rushing out of the pistol grips :)

As parents, we are doing our best to help our kids pick good friends. We see the side effects of overlooking some things now. As a very poor kid, I got to do a lot of bucketlist things, because my friends' parents invited me along.
Kyle, going off with other families is certainly all part of the fun of growing up and seeing what others do. So what bucket list things did they invite you along to do ?

Good Morning
It’s 13 with a high of 29 forecast with clear skies. Then snow tonight and intermittently the rest of the week.

Yesterday we got about 8” of snow, but it was pretty easy to plow / shovel. I got almost everything down to the blacktop, but not in time to dry before the temperature dropped. Now I’ve got a sea of black ice. Hopefully today’s sun can improve that. Daughter slid off the road an crunched the fender on her RAV4 on the way to her shift in the ER in the middle of the heaviest snow. Apparently it is still drivable, I’ll take a look at it today.

More baked goods from the neighbors showing their appreciation for getting plowed out. Maybe they are thinking the 900 pound weight on the 3PT needs some help.

Not sure what today will bring, I can always fall back to cleaning and organizing the shop.

Still no word on vaccine.

Good morning, the temperature is -7°F and going up to 18. Wind E 5 mph. Sunny.

After getting out from being stuck pics on https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/rural-living/223701-good-morning-post5922937.html#post5922937 I kinda ran out of get up and go, so I will finish that up this morning.

Might have to go to North Bay and rescue the DIL. She got a meat wagon ride up there yesterday....anemic is what they found. Over night stay with all kinds of needles stuck into her. I swear, the amount of needles they stick in people in this country, if the needles stuck out we'd all look like porcupines.

Going out in 45 minutes to finish the plowing.

Ron, that tree rat is just begging for a pellet in the face.

Have a safe day all

15° bathroom alarm beat the phone alarm.

I was mowing the other side of my creek years ago, and there was a huge owl up above me, scared the crap out of me, it was so big. I took tractor back to house to grab a camera, went back down and it was gone.

Minister for Dad’s church in hospital with COVID. He’s a high risk.

Dad thinks he has a leak in his water line from well to house, it’s probably 1200 ft away. Another brother going to check it out today. He has a heat lamp to keep his pump from freezing, since he can’t go over to physically turn it off, he turns off power at breaker, turning off all his outside power including the well.

Oldest brother still in hospital. He tried walking a little, couldn’t do much. Laying in hospital really takes it out of you. My sister came home from there yesterday.

Almost time to get started.

Another subject....As parents, we are doing our best to help our kids pick good friends. We see the side effects of overlooking some things now. As a very poor kid, I got to do a lot of bucketlist things, because my friends' parents invited me along.

We helped our kids pick their friends at a young age, they picked some different ones in HS but kept with decent kids.

In college, I got invited by my friends parents to go to the beach with them a couple times. Growing up on the farm, we didn’t have the money for many vacation. Going somewhere and staying overnight in a no name motel was a treat. It was either to Lancaster PA, drive down skyline Dr, or overnight trip to smoky mts and back the next day. We still tell the story of staying at “Lexington’s finest motel” in VA, we left OH at 5 am, took 2 cars and took my grandmother.. drove rt 50 across WV, drove down skyline drive, then couldn’t find a motel. Got to Lexington Va, slept in the cars in the parking lot. Returned to OH the next day via Hawks nest on the new river gorge.

What fun.
