Good evening all. 30F for start, clear, light breeze. Light wind today, clear sky, and high temp was 58F. Cleaned insert this morning. bike ride this afternoon, and nap.
Covid update: Cooke, Montague, Grayson, unchanged, local not updated.

24 right now...looks like 3" or so and moderate snow still falling....I'd guess (which is what the weather guessers do anyway) we'll see 5-6 inches before it's over.
High today just below freezing...
Got my laptop and I'll be working from home today. It'll be a while before I need to clear the snow.

Not much use in being up this early...think I'll lie back down for a couple hours...

Good morning, the temperature is 7°F and going up to 23. Wind N 14 gusting t 20 mph. Sunny.

Block heater wire on the Jeep is shorting out and throwing the breaker for that circuit. I haven't made up my mind if I am going to spend any money on it. The frame is pretty much toast and wayyyy too expensive to replace ($4000.oo + currency exchange at 1.302% + freight + duty + another 1.302% and then there is the sales taxes (15%), both of them). The tub needs a lot of work, too. As much as I love it, I think tough love is the answer and get rid of it, after the motor craps out.

LouNY, is there not an audiology clinic closer to you than VT? Or is it that you don't like driving in NYC? If it is the latter, then I don't blame you, but in a snow storm with hurricane force winds I think I would reschedule, but that is just me.

An energy conservation day for sure today.

First cup of coffee is still too hot to drink. 19° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 30° with some sun in pm. Been cleaning out room my wife used as a sewing room. Finally got all the plastic storage containers/drawers cleaned out and move to garage. Still have 10 drawers full of sewing notions to sort thru. That's what I will work on today.
Sure hope all in the snow storm are safe. Take it easy clearing it up.

Mostly, back on schedule. Bike Ride and Nap. :thumbsup:

Morning all! 27 out there with wind blowing. Two coffees done so time to head out for snow duty. Doesn't look like it has gotten any worse then it was at 10 pm. I would guess 6 inches. I will measure it when I go out. A few of the neighbors want me to do their's also. Will update in a few hours.

Good Morning. After a few delightful hours of dry sunny weather yesterday, rain came back last night with a vengeance. I was expecting it and already had filled 2 wheelbarrows with firewood, both nicely tucked under shelter, away from the expected westerly wind. Unfortunately the wind must have been listening to a different forecast and came at us from the east, the wood is well soaked.

Looks like the ground source heat pump is going to get more use than normal today. It has a rated output of 8 kW, which is plenty for this place as it has lots of insulation, though with the water filled heating pipes being embedded in the concrete screed, it does take a while for the slab to warm up and start emitting heat in the rooms that are normally heated by woodburners.

Ron, our woodpeckers have been quiet these last few weeks, nice to see your close ups.

Drew, great to hear you are back into long term planning/adventure mode.

32 outside. Heading to upper 30's. Wind is howling. Looks like a feed the wood stove day.

Found a dead buried chicken in one of my run-in's last evening. No tracks though. All I had to do is clean it up and cook it. LOL. I took it to the back woods. Forgot to set the game cam up for the culprit. Neighbors chicken I assume. That was pretty bizarre.

Don, I saw those shoes on TV news this morning.

Did some tracking yesterday...found where the deer came across our fields and ended up at the food plot...but didn't go to the woods since they were bedding down a few feet off my trail in view out the window all day...they got up at evening and went back to feeding at the same wheat/oats, etc. plot. I also tracked a coyote across the fields...maybe that's why the deer stayed so close to our house.
