Coffee is done brewing. 24° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 35° with cloudy skies. Got my projects done yesterday. No tractor seat time. Sassy had all her paths in snow all knocked down to her height. Did go over and watch the big smile on my neighbors face as his new Kubota tractor was delivered. His whole family was there to watch.
No plans for today. Conserve energy day.
Got a call from warranty company. Contractor can get the parts to fix Furnace. They are trying to blame delay on contractor not giving them the information. That's not what he told me. :confused3:
There is always someone at feeders wanting their picture taken.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All

good morning all.
A chilly 17 this morning going up to 40, getting warmer tomorrow with high of 51.
Not much planned for today other than doing some laundry and taking car to car wash to get the salt off it.

Avalanche Damages Ski Resort in New York - Videos from The Weather Channel | weather.com
Don't know how many of you saw this on the news, but I did a doubletake when I read this, this ski lodge in NY Catskills is the
one my friend who owns the cabin up there goes to every year for a beerfest and to walk around. We have sat in the very room where the avalanche
came in.

Good morning, the temperature is 9°F and headed to 21. Wind SSW 6 mph. 40% chance of flurries and a snowfall warning. Warning says up to 8" of snow coming tonight.

Today is another energy conservation day.

Ken, I just make brown paint. White cheeses I am okay with more or less. Extra old cheddar is good, too. Just not a lot of it.

daugen; it is good the resort was closed for Christmas.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning.
It’s 20 heading to upper 30’s with mostly clear skies today.

Yesterday went according to plan, worked on speaker, got the jack plate and crossover wired and finished, also got the baffle painted.

Also got to airport and reinstalled the repaired master cylinder, bled and tested it.
Stopped at the grocery on the way home and picked up a nice round roast. Rubbed it with olive oil, salt and pepper, and put it in a 200 degree oven until it was 110 inside. Pulled it out, covered it with a piece of foil and set oven to 525. Once oven was up to temp, put the roast back in for 10 minutes or so to get a nice crust.
Looking forward to sandwiches from the leftover.
Never got to do any shop cleanup......

Today I’ll work on the exterior finish of the speaker and hopefully go back to the airport and take the plane for a ride around the neighborhood as a final test of the brakes.

If that doesn’t keep me busy enough till bedtime, maybe some shop cleanup as filler....

Ron, was this your first experience with a claim on your home warranty? Sadly, it sounds typical of what I hear from contractor friends, including getting thrown under the bus by the warranty company. I’d be curious if any claims go smoothly.

We had 50 mph plus winds last night with heavy rain. It was good this morning to see the sheep had taken shelter on the east of the Dead Oak Pit, all were fine, just a little reluctant to get up and stretch their legs as I walked through them.

Not so good was to see a pair of jet black birds with long necks plunging into the big pond, right where I had been putting the fish in. Cormorants ! I have no objection to herons taking the occasional fish as they only do it from the bankside, but cormorants are just too efficient. Perhaps I need to look at building some fish refuges. Alas cormorant pie is not an option Rs - against the law to shoot them and anyway, I am told the taste is revolting.

Mostly, squirrel playing chicken :confused2:. Plan was to stop you at 5999 miles - need to bribe it with more nuts next year :D

Popgadget, what does the I/II switch operate? Different crossover points?

Dayton Audio has an interesting website. I learned all about
"exciters"... Not enough excitement in your life? Well....wire a couple of these babies
into your favorite recliner
Dayton Audio - Exciters

hmmmm. RF transmit and receive to a solar powered exciter attached to
one of my bird feeders. In accompaniment to the screeches of a serious raptor like an owl or eagle.
wonder if that would scare a squirrel away.

Popgadget, I've already had questions about mounting cameras inside the birdhouses.
You could be my electronics consultant and installer.
I mean, need to top this year's model for next Christmas...;) :dance1:

Need a full electronics package to offer including anti egg theft motion detectors, beak print identification,
and possibly a low wattage heater for those cold nights.
And don't forget to spec the wire as non edible.

And let's put it all in a package that resembles a small utility tractor.
Ten percent for Mohammad the owner and the rest of our millions for us.
Just think how large the market is out there. All those retrofits...
All those Kubota cab feeders with the cab door that opens and lets the birds in and out...
We can do this.

25 right now...high at 32 today...
When I went out (about 1000) to see if the walks needed to be salted, they weren't bad at all, so I didn't spread salt. When our stepdaughter got home (about 1600) she remarked that the walks were pretty slick...freezing drizzle... So, I'll check again this morning and probably spread the ice melt.
Nothing else planned....I watched the first disk (of a 3 disk set) of the science fiction series "Firefly" yesterday...probably continue today.
Thinking of it just now...guess I'll drag my company laptop in and catch up on any e-mails.
