Your table saw looks great! Nice work.

I've got an old Craftsman 10" table saw I bought used in 1971 sitting in the shop, unused for several years since I replaced it with a 5 HP cabinet saw. I need to find time to refurbish the surface as you did. Mine doesn't quite as much surface rust, as you started with and the side extensions are heavy aluminum.

I see a restoration project in the future! :thumbsup:

The bad news of the day... a minor inconvenience... my plan for the shop layout is not going to work. After trying to maneuver the tools all around, I gave up and took a bunch of measurements. I am just going to do a scale drawing with scale tools and try to find a good layout.... I think I need a bigger shop.... or another garage for the tractor and other less used stuff.

Yep. I bought a nice Delta T2 Fence for it .. right before getting a good deal on the cabinet saw. I'd like to get it cleaned up, fence installed, and set right besides the other saw .. probably use it primarily for ripping and dados. Both run on 240 Volts AC so power will be very easy.

I've got plans nearly complete to build a new smaller out-feed table. My present OFT top is 72" x 48" and I'd like to move it to a different part of the shop for assembly / glue-ups. In its present position, if I'm assembling something, or have something in clamps .. it's in the way of ripping anything very long.

The new out-feed top would be 48" x 48", on casters, so it can be easily moved behind either table saw.

I think I bought my Delta T2 fence at Lowe's .. probably 7-8 years ago for less than $150. It's got 60" rails.

That might be a great upgrade to your table saw. The Craftsman saw cuts great .. the crappy fence .. was it's only problem.

Locking casters .. are your friend. All my WW tools are on large bases with big locking / swivel casters. I can place them easily to handle large material and easy hookup to my shop dust collector.

The Texas Chain Saw massacre continues.

My Husqvarna lasted till 30 minutes before the end and then it would not crank. But I went to town found a replacement spring on the pull cord for the one that broke and had it working two hours later so it's ready to continue the cedar massacre again next week. The other two chainsaws continued to massacre and I was self demoted to hauler of amputated limbs. I was having visions of a new chainsaw for Christmas, but it turned out to be too easy of a fix and for only $6.

Good evening all. 57F for the start, overcast, windy. Windy and wind increase till about 8:00 tonight, overcast cleared out then came back this afternoon, and high temp was 63F at 10AM, low temp 34F at midnight. Bike ride this morning after consulting several wind forecasts, and did catch lowest wind for the day. Cleaned out ash from insert and emptied the "ash" can and got nap in today.
Covid update: Cooke 1807 confirmed cases, 174 active cases, Montague 1076 confirmed cases, 58 active cases, Grayson 6083 confirmed cases, 548 active cases, local 13 active cases.

Kyle Glad you got ring in the bike and all is well. Most people don't add extra oil to mix because it leans out the gas too much and will overheat easier. My racing buddy would run 32:1 in a 20:1 engine while racing with no lube problems. Neat action pic. Run ball sound delightful

Kyle, now you have me a bit curious. Our water is stored in 4k gal tanks. Guessing they stay around 70° range, I say that based on that being our mean range. Guess I’ll be checking the temp. It sure isn’t the crisp cool I grew up with in Maine.

I have same kinda problem. My solution is everything is mounted on wheels (locking castors). Tablesaw, drill press, metal cutoff saw, and miter saw all have their spot, but can be repositioned when required. These are also located close to a door if work is longish. I could rip a 4x8 sheet on the tablesaw if needed and have done 16ft lumber on either table saw or miter., but a second pair or hands sure help. Planer, router table etc are lined up against the wall and brought out only when needed.
