No major complaints with UPS or Fedex when regular drivers. The subs tend to take short cuts like not driving down the drive when I leave gate open for them.

I have a much bigger complaint with Amazon Prime. Was good service until major changes a year or so ago when they ditched Fedex. Almost never get anything on projected date. Even worse when items posted as in stock don’t ship for days and days.

No Mail yesterday but today it came before 4pm. It wouldn't bother me is they delivered every other day. Amazon hasn't been hitting 2 day delivery but it gets here.

RNG size of 12 Pro Max has not been an issue at all. Easy to adapt.
I always get a wallet style case Amazon.com: CASEOWL Wallet Case Compatible for iPhone 12 Pro Max, Case Wallet Magnetic Detachable 2 in 1 Folio Leather with 9 Card Slots, Hand Strap Compatible with iPhone 12 Pro Max 6.7 inch 2;) (Black)
When home I usually carrie just the phone, leaving wallet portion on the table.
I did make an adjustment. the magnetic back prevents wireless charging so I get a clear back
Amazon.com: Spigen Liquid Crystal Designed for iPhone 12 Pro Max Case (2;)) - Crystal Clear: Electronics
And add a couple velcro tabs

When I first moved here, I had a UPS driver tell me that they won't come down unpaved driveways. Period.

He probably misspoke - should have said: HE won't come down an unpaved driveway ...

They (UPS) come down unpaved driveways here (meaning in this area) quite regularly (including in the winter) ... IMO only exception being would be if they are impassable or there is a decent probability that they could get stuck. (No place to turn the vehicle around probably falls under "impassable" :D)

Ultimately, it's a judgement call on the part of driver - at least here (other terminals/regions may have different policies)

I'm quite sure that neither UPS or Fedex wants drivers going down driveways (know for a fact Fedex doesn't: all sort of hazards) ... they would prefer the driver takes the package and humps it to wherever it needs to go.

That's all well and good ... until the package is 100+ lbs, there's 2'+ of snow on the ground, and the driveway is unplowed ... and is 1000' long or more. At the point where you have a number of those on your route, the issue becomes: Why aren't you making all your assigned deliveries ?

Neither company wants them backing up either (it's where the majority of their incidents/accidents happen) ... but many drivers still do it.

If the driver makes the call to go down a drive (or back up) and it turns out bad, well then, it's on the driver ... at least from management's perspective.

From that aspect, I can't blame the drivers ... at least when the conditions are really hazardous or difficult.

But at some point, the excuses start falling on deaf ears.

Here, today was that day ...

What's this driver figure he's going to do for the rest of the winter ?

So I put a job box up at the cul-de-sac.

That's one way to go ...

The FedEx guy comes down the drive anytime I leave the gate open for him.

USPS never comes down the drive, either.

Fedex, USPS, and Amazon ALL come down the driveway here ... although USPS will only do it if they need a sig for something ... or have a package that is too large to fit in the mailbox.

Obviously, what they are willing to do is weather/conditions dependent.

I certainly don't blame them for that.

GT80 rings appear to be stuck in a Pennsylvania USPS meltdown...tracking is not getting updated.

Even the post office is saying "Don't use the post office" up there right now. Also saying "Deliveries are not happening before Christmas"...

Doesn't look good

North and east of here it's pretty bad.

Here, not so much ... ;)

Not sure whether this particular driver is my regular driver ... or a sub.

Also not sure if he's the fellow that drove over my newly repaired berm around the catch basin about a month ago ...

Yikes ...

Good morning everyone. 9.30 am and getting hot already (83F)
They promised us it would be cool till Christmas but I don't believe them.
No hot meals on the day that's for sure. Ham and Salads will be the menu. Maybe jelly and icecream and Pineapple Fluff if I can find my recipe again.

My son stopped at post office to ask about his package. Postmaster called the mail person, who said she forgot to ask at the wrong house. Mail lady got chewed out and told again to ask for the package. No cookies for her this year.

Wife set out hotdogs to thaw for supper, I decided to pick up something. Kids said Chinese, wife said ill ride with you. Had to wait for her to finish making more cookies, so didn’t make it to TSC. But got another gallon of cider at the orchard and had a very filling supper.

Youngest setting up Lionel around the tree.

Pellet stove full for the night, 25° out now, so much for that being the low forecast.

I worked part of the day.

Drive thru 2 of the covered bridges just for fun.

Got down to 23 this morning, then it was 28 about an hour ago, but up to 31 now, rain moving in tomorrow.

Had baked cod, baby red potatoes and a cauliflower, broccoli and carrot medley for supper. Love that cod.

I remembered to order my new flag and some new swivel collars for the pole today.
Baby sitting stepdaughter’s bulldog for the night. Gracie likes to have her visit, but not for too long, cats don’t care.
Watching some college football tonight.
Have a good one all.
