38 right now...after that rainy day yesterday, it feels damp and clammy. High in the low 40's

Chores: Definitely a dump run, stop at the bank (finally got our tax refund check!) and pick up a few odds and ends at the store. After that, continue those tasks I didn't complete last weekend due to the sciatica (which still reminds me it's there now and then..)

Sadly, my neighbor's wife, Kim, passed away yesterday about 1100...quite a bit sooner then the diagnosis. I stopped by after work to see how he was doing...he was OK, considering. A little reminiscing, between he and I, even though we've only known each other since 2013...
She had made all the arrangements a few weeks ago and will be cremated sometime this weekend. Tim (my neighbor) will have her ashes...
Nice lady, we'll miss her...

Roy, sorry about your neighbor.

That tax refund sure took a long time.

50° and sunny, going to 60°

Wife went to Costco yesterday and it was normal. No shutdowns here yet. Numbers going up, but not like other states. I think the large increase is due to protesting and carelessness. 2321 new cases today, our states largest 1 day total. Shutdown had no effect on the numbers before.

40F and partly cloudy @ 12:00, headed up to a high of around 50F. Overnight low hit 25F this morning.

Roy and Don, condolences on your neighbor's wives.

Squeak out in garage on afternoon safari.

Deer here are following the lead of Ron's deer and cleaning up around feeders:

They have also figured out that the depressions in the upside-down retaining wall blocks make decent water dishes:

Finished up BLO on first squirrel feeder, second squirrel feeder assembled and BLO treatment started ... will finish that today.

Washed out the two new garbage cans and lids yesterday and transferred sunflower seeds into one of them + other household cleaning activities. Cleaned out bird bath remounted and refilled, adjusted mount so that it's sitting close to level.

Squirrels seem to going through one ear of corn per day. Don't know if they are actually eating it ... or just hoarding it ...

Need to refill bird feeders, corn on the cob feeder for squirrels today, clean out rubber water dish and then put it out for deer (since there really isn't much in the way of water around here), fill and hang first squirrel feeder (if I can find a suitable lag bolt)

Also finish consolidating retaining wall blocks and move empty pallets up to shop to stack firewood on.

Feed fish and fish room maintenance.

Possibly work on roost boxes.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

We've hit a record number of new cases here in the state again yesterday (over 8,000) with hospitalizations approaching near-record levels.

According to Governor Dewine's briefing most of it is being tracked back to small gatherings of friends/family and the like.

So yeah ... carelessness and a failure of personal responsibility to mask up and social distance.

While I was initially supportive of our governor's early actions, he ultimately got cowed into taking a less strenuous approach ... and has been relying on peoples' individual judgement to act in a responsible manner.

It ain't working out.

I suspect stronger measures are in the offing.

RS, this is the filler that I use. The white oak. There are a few different types, red oak, pine, walnut, maple, etc... It is made from actual wood and takes the stain to match. Dries very hard, but sands easy. I usually get it from Home Depot (in stock), but is available online.
