65F and partly cloudy @ 23:30, high hit 79F.
Filled in around catch basin first thing, then collected more debris from weeding west bed and carted it up to the compost pile. Put box blade back on, on way up.
Grabbed a bucketload of screened soil on the way back down, dumped that over by west planting bed and started collecting more debris.
Shortly after that it started to rain. The Woman said "I think we're only going to get a few sprinkles." ... that wasn't how it turned out though ... I ran what I had in the bucket up to the compost pile and started to cover it ... at that point the rain started coming down pretty good.
With outdoor activities curtailed, she decided to do a quick grocery run to get some fresh bread for tunafish salad sandwiches and left me to hard boil the eggs while she was gone.
Got that done and by that time the rain had stopped so I ran over to the pole barn and grabbed 100' tape to get a measurement for the retaining wall on the east side of the house.
We ended up getting a decent amount of rain ... fortunately the ground was still dry enough that it soaked in pretty quickly. Sun came back out and I think I could hear the grass growing:
I went back up to the wood/compost lot and moved some sycamore rounds from out in front of a large pile of previously screened soil and onto the burn pile and took another bucketload of composted soil down to the west planting bed and pulled a couple of t-posts she had been using to tie up some flowers we no longer have (thankfully)
Then we ended up getting the oak tree in front of the garage taken down, all limbs cut off and taken up to the burn pile and the trunk moved up to the wood pile:
Still need to trim the rhododendron off the power lines, will do that tomorrow ... when it's a little drier ...
After that I got out the handheld broadcast spreader and the grass seed and hit around the catch basin, covered it with straw, and watered it in with three watering cans worth of juice.
Have enough measurements at this point I can get a pretty good idea of how much wall block and cap I'm going to need ... still quite a bit.
Still need to run the garbage up to the road and stick it in the can and close up the garage for the night.
Hope everyone had a great day ...
