72 going to 86...fortunately the storms missed us yesterday.

Randy, I'm feeling your pain...we've gotten over 9" in a week including the tropical storm, so I need stilts to walk through the yard. Since no rain yesterday, I'm hoping it will dry for mowing today...but foggy now...never dried yesterday due to the humidity.

Kyle, sounds like you had a nice visit...that honey farm looks real interesting.

Eric, I borrowed a 10mm from the auto store...I did have an adjustable wrench, but theirs did the job much better. I forgot I had to remove the battery clamp, but thankfully it needed the same 10mm size as the battery cables. Nice harvest of hay. If I was feeling sheepish, I'd be getting hungry right now.

Roy I see how you could go to sleep by those sounds

There's quite a few on YouTube...some holiday related (Christmas especially) which I'll play on the TV.
Rain and snow sounds are very relaxing, especially in the evening or when going to bed. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Good Saturday Morning. It's 73° with 100% humidity this morning. The dew point is also 73° so .. we may see a little fog before going to 94° this afternoon. Still very low rain chances .. near term.

I got a good start cleaning up last pasture .. over the last two days. After the storms Sunday evening, I made a quick tour of all fence lines to make sure that I didn't have any trees or limbs across fences. After working inner parts of this pasture I've found one large post oak down and the top of another one broken off and hanging up in the top of another tree and .. about 30' above the ground. This one will be "fun".

I recently bought a new chain for my Echo 18" chain saw but .. I'd been noticing these "sharpeners" all over the Internet.

PetAZ Transparent Chainsaw Sharpener Chain Saw Blade Sharpeners Fast Sharpening Stone Grinder Tools Bar Mounted Teeth Fit for 14 16 18 20 Inches Two Holes Bar with Total 5 Whetstone Amazon.com : PetAZ Transparent Chainsaw Sharpener Chain Saw Blade Sharpeners Fast Sharpening Stone Grinder Tools Bar Mounted Teeth Fit for 14 16 18 2 Inches Two Holes Bar with Total 5 Whetstone : Garden & Outdoor

Since I was going to replace the chain anyway .. I decided to risk $20 and see if they work? To my great surprise it works great, easy to use, and very quick. I used this saw, with sharpened "old chain", to cut up the storm damaged oak tree. It cut it "like butter". I now carry it with me in the Ranger.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Prayers to all.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 52° with light fog this morning. Heading to 83° with mostly sunny skies. Took my aunt home when we finished installing new shades. She had to sign some papers after selling her car. Has given up driving at 91 years old. When she visits. It is so enjoyable that I have less time for my forum post. GD is coming for House cleaning today. Have not decided what I am going to do rest of the day.
CV, is now at 86,191 cases, 6,247 deaths. Getting about 700 cases per day. Oakland county has 12,027 cases, 1087 deaths. Over 2.2 million have been tested in state.
Had some hot air balloons fly by yesterday.

Eric, lost both pairs of my glasses yesterday. I am sure Sassy hid them. But my Aunt found both pair before she went home.

Roy, glad winter sounds help get you to sleep. BUT :confused2::eek::thumbdown:.

Buckeye, hope arm starts getting better.

Drew, being a your own health advocate is a good thing. Give your friend an extra social distancing hug.

David, glad Sophie is healing.

MFW, A lot of stress in your life. Sure hope it settles down. It's been almost 1 year since my wife of 58 years passed. A lonely life without her. Will I ever find another mate a 78 years old. Well lots of good things happen in life. :dance1:

RS, I have a Wet stone grinder for my mower blades. So sharpening to not cause loss of harness. Never have had a bent one. I have 3 sets of blades for both mowers.

Kyle, squirrel story was good. Saw another one get taken by a Hawk this week.

Randy, time to look into a flail mower for your tractor. That should take care of having lawn that is to long.

Thomas, I seem to more done on putter days than planned days.

Mostly, 100° with humidity is not going to get any trimming done at my place.

Don, hawks do the same critter control here. Then do not bring them to house for inspection.

LS, shelves and gates. Will keep you busy.

Rick, good pictures.

RNG, hope install of new equipment goes well.

Prayers for Riptides, Jay and Peg.

Everyone be safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

nice trip to Food Lion, got what I needed just as they opened and almost no one in store.
Passed on the steaks on sale, keeping Don's always excellent advice in mind, and bought some salmon burgers instead.
Also got salad material and lots of veggies.

email from best friend who said he bought another Ego cordless device and he is now petroleum free and delighted.
He has had very good luck with them just as I have had with Makita. Just has to be sized right for your property.

speaking of losing things, which I am remarkably talented at...took me only one week to lose a really nice Amish leather fly swatter I ordered. Didn't want to buy
a set of five cheapy plastic ones for same price and this one had wonderful reviews. How can one lose a fly swatter with a red handle? And now of course I have this
obnoxious fly buzz bombing me constantly, reminding me of my limitations...

Not much planned for today other than vacuuming floor of car which despite mats is covered in sand and grit from this parking area
Might try to get my Amazon Firestick working and see if I can start streaming their movies but with the 27 inch monitor right in front of me, haven't seen the point, can just get it off the internet, and now after changing my Verizon account to basically unlimited data, doesn't cost me any more.

Are two holes in the bar necessary? My bar only has one hole. The sharpener sounds really good.

Eric looks to be a good hay crop.

Roy, I would not be able to sleep - too excited about snow!!!!

Good morning! 73˚F feels like 73˚F Wet bulb temp 72˚F, 97% humidity dew point 72˚F. heading to the 100mark with clear skies and no wind. DDOA (Dog Days Of August).
Today is a putter day so if Ron is correct I'll get a lot done.

Gray two spent 7 hours yesterday at the neighbors rock ledge waiting for another rat and he is sitting over there this morning also. The neighbors are asking how much he charges. He used to do the same thing by gopher holes - wait all day - that is a good hunter quality that I could never acquire, I'd better just stick with plants.

66* now with low humidity, where is summer........ That sharpener does have a good 4 star rating so someone likes it but I thought it only worked on a specific stile chain. In the mean time I'll just daydream on how to get this tractor............

"Are two holes in the bar necessary?"

For good alignment .. yes. I use my HF Lynxx 40 volt pole saw a lot .. it has only a single hole too. This seems to be another winner. It sharpens the cutters and lowers the depth gauges .. simultaneously. Some good prices on eBay. They are specific to chain gauge. Most of mine are 0.325.
