Tropical storm warnings and a hurricane watch for us. Center storm on current path will pass about 15 miles west. That means we are on the northeast quadrant, likely giving us the higher winds. Heaviest rain is predicted just west of us but so close it’s hard to tell. Wind prediction is 40-50 with 65+ gusts.
I hope they’re wrong.

Drew, glad you have your key.

My playing with Drone taught me a lesson this morning. When operating drone close by I would watch drone not iPhone/iPad screen. I have been using screen more and more lately. There was a message saying that controller went into payload mode. This limits height and distance using the newer iPhones helped. But made message smaller. I now am learning to use screen while flying drone. Reason I was getting message was weight of propeller guards. Took them off. Can now fly out well over my needs. Back to using iPad Mini 2.

68°F and .22 inches rain.

Have to post our mail in primary ballots today, so a trip to PO. Hawaii has gone to total mail in voting. Already controversy in that each County has a limited number of drop off spots and Honolulu opened theirs a few days earlier than other counties. I thought the signature verification a bit hokey in that the signature card was just a bare postcard with signature exposed. I placed ours in an envelope so probably disqualified, but of course don’t know that. Our old local polling place was also thought of as social.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon, the social highlight of our COVID existence.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

My son was on a roof inspection a couple of weeks ago after work, near dark and a tree ate his mid size drone. He was trying to get in for a tight shot and got a little too close when a gust of wind pushed it into the tree. It crashed on a sidewalk between two large grassy areas, it will require major repair or replacement he says. He had his little foldable back up that he finished the job with. I never knew folding drones existed.

Ron, that Ian of London YouTube drone guru recommends always flying within visual range of the drone, and watching the drone, not the screen. That puts the k-bosh on a lot of stunts people pull with them, but I'd rather follow his advise and get it back every time.

FWIW, I had an anxious moment the other day when I fired up the Mini inside to check out one of the Fly app's menus. The drone didn't have a GPS lock and it was dark enough the camera couldn't see the ground, and it was flying itself straight into the bigscreen TV. :pullinghair: Mashed both the down and back levers and got it landed without further excitement, but next time I try to fly inside it'll have the propeller guards installed!

Sorry about your boy's drone, Randy. Most of DJI's new drones fold up pretty small now; did I understand correctly that he has a Mini? It folds into a package about the size of your fist. I you go over to the DJI website to look, be careful you don't come home with one.

No wipers, RNG. I won’t be joy riding in the rain and just negotiating between house and gate shouldn’t be a problem as long as I can look to the side. Heck, at least it won’t be blowing in my face anymore

AGS exercise setting pretty straight forward, pick day, interval, start & stop times. Don’t look now as OpticsRE is in maintenance mode.

I read in a video where some late model police cars have the ability to heat up the interior to 135 degrees, which allegedly kills off the coronavirus bug.
Maybe, but high temps are rarely good for electronics so wonder what the tradeoff is there.

If I recall correctly the article I read said that cars are designed to be unharmed by higher temperatures than that, which they can sustain sitting out in the sun.

About the covid19. I watched a Doctor's talk about the disease. She said in 99 percent of cases there is a temperature above 99 degrees so no temperature is good.

Glad you found the key Drew
Frustrating when I’m looking for something that actually looks different or different color than my mental image.

I have another project done! The park bench turned out very well, already put into its place. Wifey is happy.
Some pics of the final assembly and the finished bench out by the pond.

very nice Ted!
Every time I see your landscape I want to send you some water...
as the rain comes down here, storm is coming in
But then we need arid areas too...

I forgot to add, that after getting me and the generator caught it the rain storm, I looked on the radar history, and the t-storm really was a pop-up...it popped up like they say...on the first screen of the radar video, it wasn't there, the next it was and connected the north and the south storms for just 5 minutes.

I'd like dollar every time so call pop up shower/t-storm got me soak over the years and the weatherman never mention pop ups, chance of,maybe, etc.etc.

Was 66°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 75° today. Rained pretty much all weekend here.

Spent the better part of Friday at a friend's place in St. Charles MO Helping him with some keyboard programming. He's the keyboard player from the Sammy Hagar tribute band I used to play with, and he bought the same Roland synthesizer I have. The guys in the band have been giving him grief over taking too long to find sound patches during shows, so I went over and helped him program everything he needs into sequential user locations. Now, User 1-15 contains everything he uses. No more scrolling through six different banks of sounds, a little over a thousand in all.

Saturday was rainy all day, and I don't think I left the house all day.

Sunday was another rainy day. I ran a few errands early, then settled into my studio and got some guitar and keyboard tracks recorded on a couple of songs. A productive day. Made tacos for dinner, too, which is always a good thing.

Happy (belated) birthdays, Randy and Ken.

Glad you're feeling better after the fall, Ted.

Kyle, I just finished a book that could have been subtitled "How To Write Lists." The author must have suggested nearly a dozen different lists. I've never been a list guy. I've tried, but I can't even fathom the number of grocery lists that never made it off the kitchen table.

Batten down the hatches, Drew.

Line of thunderstorms moving through. Under lightning alert, less than 6 miles away.

Temp has dropped 10 degrees, rain just started coming down.

Got auger rack about 1/3 sanded but rain has put the kabosh on that for the moment. Did get a couple of Simpson Strong-Tie brackets added to stiffen things up though.

Happy belated’s to our Birthday Boys ...

I’m an irregular list guy.

Back when working I was a better list person.
Now my tendency is make a list that I can refer back to periodically, but not regularly. List is less priority completion issue, more so a list of step priority for more complicated tasks. I will refer to more as a reminder.

My master list is in a spreadsheet that includes sub spreadsheets for specific areas/projects. Being spreadsheets they sometimes get $ entries for material or comparisons. Sadly, this list has items with little to no progress that are years old.

Another hot and humid here. Portable units are not keeping up.
Looks like we are in the same path as Thomas. Rain and wind starting in the afternoon into the evening.
I hope to be able to go to my job in the early AM (will leave at 5 or so)and be home before the mess. Usually a three hour total commute. Plus I need at least 4 hours for work there.
Will finish the day home office. Won't have this problem soon. (64 more Thomas days)

RedNeckGeek said "Hope you get the A/C straightened out soon, Phil. Will the new unit save you some money through higher efficiency?"
We are still waiting for an estimate and description of the new unit. I hope it is better after 20 odd years of improvements. Thanks for the good wishes!
