Fresh from Shiner Texas, their pork and beef is really good.
EJ's Meat Company

Drew, prayers for you, I pray you gain back 99% of your autonomy. 1% dependent on TBN :) I sometimes get Jimmy Dean's all natural breakfast sausage.

I am NOT a fan of buying meat in chubs that you can't see through....I did once for a big hamburger cookout, and all went well though.

Prayers for Dave and Sophie in their time of sorrow.

Welcome NHBX.

Don, I'm trying to figure out the merit of the parameters giving only a small handful of degrees variance?

Eric, wise use of old basket. Glad you got to see your son. I'll bet his GF is pretty. :) I believe the Facebook thing is a background "handshake" that Muhammad might would know something about.

Only .27" rain from yesterday's Hanna passing. :(

84F and sunny, "feels like" 89F ... calling for a high 92F.

Beeswax/BLO concoction has solidified.

Need to get cracking on the mowing before it becomes unbearably hot.

Definitely plan to get my hair cut later today ... getting to the point I can hardly stand it ...

Other than that no idea, but it's a fair bet that I'll be looking for shade to do whatever ...

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

:D

Good Morning!!!! 77F @ 8:30AM. Mostly sunny. High 102F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Sorry to read about Kalani's passing, David. But glad she went on her own without any help from the vet. We should all be so lucky.

Hope you can sleep OK tonight, Drew, and not be so excited about freedom day you can't close your eyes.

Good to hear from you, Bill, and that things are going right on the highways.

I'm thinkin' if they can simulate the fans, they might as well simulate the players and get rid of all the extra curricular drama.

Looking forward to a report on your new electric grapple, Randy.

:welcome: to GM, Luther!

Do you have your Tempest linked to Weather Underground yet, Don?

Even the EverReady bunny needs a recharge once in a while, RS.

I'm getting closer on the network equipment list, RS, but still need to fill in a few knowledge gaps before pulling the trigger. The technology changes so rapidly, it's difficult to sort the current info from what was reported a year or even longer ago.

Got the metal strips cut for the stiffeners yesterday, and the patch plates for the hatch as well, but I spent more time cleaning the slag off the plasma cuts than making the cuts themselves. Just couldn't get the cup to skate smoothly along the sheet, and every time it stopped I got a blob of metal on the back, and every time it jumped, it skipped cutting. Also managed to blow the fuse again on the battery. Guess it can't handle the A/C, air compressor, and 40 amp plasma torch all at once. Fortunately, flipping a couple breakers puts everything back on the grid, so now I know for next time.

I have a little more rust damage to cut out this morning, then I can get on with welding in the stiffeners and plates. Dug up an SO cord yesterday that already had the proper male plug on it, and found a female socket and metal box that I used to cobble up an extension cord for the welder. Still need to verify I got the wires connected properly before I try it out, though. Don't need any more expensive mistakes.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend:thumbsup:

73°F and .39 inches rain.

Douglas is passing through

Seems more a blustery rain right now

Did make for an interesting sunrise
IMG_1803.JPG

Likely just ride out the storm today, no big plans

Thanks for all the gracious comments yesterday. Very much appreciated. Sophie had made an awesome lasagna for lunch, played part of Hand and Foot game, then a couple hour nap pretty much rounded out the day.
A bit strange to get up this morning and not pet my girl GM, a new reality. Kekoa is always funny in the morning, always excited to see me, even though he may have just gotten up from being beside me. I always tease him as I scruff his ears that he must miss me, hasn’t seen me all night because he slept with his eyes closed. Simba is more pragmatic, simply sitting, looking at me, waiting for me to add some kibble to her dish, which Kekoa helps him eat.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Does anyone else like Swaggerty sausage as much as I do?

For a lot of years, I've been eating Purnell Old Folks "medium" sausage. Several years ago, I got a box that just didn't taste right, so I told them online that I wondered if something was wrong with it. I was surprised when one of their employees called to ask if he could come by the house and get the rest of the box, to which I readily agreed. He came, bringing me a box of each of their different sausages. And he said the problem with the one I had complained about was that they cut back on the amount of FAT, but found that it changed the taste and was not as well liked so they had changed back to the old mix.

For several years, I bought the Purnell sausage at Sam's Club; same sausage, a few cents more per container than Walmart price, but had an extra half dozen patties, which made it a tiny bit cheaper than Walmart price.

But then Sam's Club (at least in Denton, Tx) quit stocking Purnell sausage and went to the Swaggerty; just a tiny bit cheaper price. So I've bought two boxes of the Swaggerty; not enough different in taste (to me, anyway) between it and Purnell's. I think if you didn't which one you were eating, you couldn't tell which it was, from the taste and appearance. But I have found that when I cook sausage in a skillet, I'm left with a tiny bit more fat in the skillet with Swaggerty than with Purnell.

So the bottom line is that I'm back to Purnell Old Folks medium sausage but only because of the response (customer service) I got a few years ago. If I happen to need a box of sausage when I'm in Sam's Club, I'm likely to buy more Swaggerty.

Randy, never heard of that sausage.

Sunsetter Awning looks great. Installed on for my parents many years ago. It was great.

Good morning folks, thought I would join in.
Already 81 with a dew point of 67 high of 91 with a heat advisory until 8pm.
Boy the older I get the less my lungs can take heat and humidity.
Enjoy you day all.

Luther

Welcome to Good morning thread. My only time to NH was august 2001 and we were escaping 100° temps in MD.
