I think I read it gets closest to the Earth July 22 or 23rd, and rises a little on the horizon, to be exactly opposite direction from the edge of the Big Dipper as Polaris and half as close as Polaris. If only I can stay awake late enough.

My creek dried up last week. Makes clean up for trash easier. Been battling garbage since we moved here coming down the creek.

Yeah, been looking at the dipper. Just cannot find that comet. LOL. Clouds don't make it easier. Think I saw the ISS previous night.

Got wife's zoom lens back from Nikon, so am anxious to start competing with Ron.

First cup of coffee is cooling. 59° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 87° with mostly sunny skies. Rain totaled 3/8" yesterday. Just enough to make weeds grow some more. Got a grocery shopping list for today. Then visit RV friends that are remodeling a lake house next town over.
Here is some competition for Riptide. Let dogs out and noticed how bright 1/4 moon was. Did not expect full moon in picture. Taken toward east.

Drew, We rented a place from my Dad for a little over a year. It was OK. But was much better after we bought a Townhouse and lived on our own. It would be hard for me to pay rent on a place.

Buckeye, I do not think it would have been hard to find my place even without real estate link.

LS, going into town is a problem anywhere. They are still shooting people on the local freeways here. I think the count is now 14.

Kyle, son used a good old fashion brush like his old man. My neighbor painted inside of playhouse I helped him with same day. All he complained about how much it took to clean it up when done. Took longer to get the paint than do painting. He thought 1 gallon would be enough. I suggested 3 gallons. It took 2 1/2.

due to humidity outside and wearing mask, I now do my laps inside using the hallways, a great improvement.
Along my travels have noted some damage to building, looks like they had a flood, water got up into walls.
Well...found out this morning that a few months before I got here, sprinkler alarm malfunctioned and most of facility was flooded.
I can only imagine what that was like with many bed bound patients and folks with dementia wondering why it was raining.
Sprinkler leakage is a covered peril under commercial insurance policies, guess they haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.
