Good morning! 63 now, 92 or so later. It was hot yesterday......did manage to keep somewhat out of the sun.

We made the grocery run yesterday. Shelves were probably best stocked I have seen them in months.

Did a little yard project after we got home, then tried some energy conservation.

First day back in the office today since March 17. I am not looking forward to it.

Drinking cool cup of coffee. 63° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 92° with mix of sun and clouds. Got all painting that I can do done on barn yesterday. Need to put all the tools away until I find someone to do upper portion. Little bit of Garden Pond maintenance today. No dew this morning. Should cut back field before I gets hot out. But I need some rest. So it will be a converse energy day.
I have about 12 different colored lilies, Waiting for black one to bloom. But looking at buds I do not see any this year. Still a couple that have not bloomed. This is main garden off parking area.

Kyle, hope you daughter get over her depression. My 15 year old GD has been having similar problems. Letting her come clean my house helped. Then her Grand Mother had her clean her house. Got her a bunch of other cleaning jobs. Brought her out of her depression. Got to have something to do away from home. Plus she likes having money in her bank account and spending it.

David, my Lacrosse weather station has tipping-bucket mechanism for rain fall. It failed early on. It got full of dust when it did not rain for awhile. Had to clean it out. Mine will be 3 years old in November with no other problems. Tipping-bucket collects rain water until bucket is full. Then tips over emptying water. Size of bucket empty is added to rain fall amount. Mine seems to be .01".

Just a tad warmer than Buppies this AM. 73 heading to 93. The humidity is a real deal these last few days. Yesterday and on the fourth I spent part of the days (daze) working on the front porch. I finally managed to open one side of the front to the outside. It's enclosed glass. Plan is to return to open old farm house look. That meant getting up the floor boards on that side and demo of part of the side wall, outside vinyl and all the insulation and original wall material. I ran across 4 4X4 posts in a 16 foot span on the original front wall. Man they really built houses back then. I just have one sheet of plywood to hang on that side before I get to demo the other. I started pricing out wood for the floor and OUCH. What happened to wood prices? In any case, I need to order up some wood. Once the front wall is sealed up, I can spend weeks working on scraping the ceiling which is all done now with original wood replacements. Just have some old glue running the length of the porch because they used sheet rock over the wood. That's going to be a lot of overhead work.

On the fourth we were treated to a nice air show over our humble home. DC had a celebration and the planes I think (the old ones) were all flying out of an airport up the road. The coolest thing I saw was 5 (five) P-51 Mustangs in formation under 6 (six) F-22 Raptors all heading south. Unfortunate my wife's zoom lens is in NY. The air force did a couple of fly overs with their B-52 and B-1's. I only saw the B-2 up high, just over the clouds. It was quite a treat for us and we did not even have to travel. Yesterday the drone of the radials kept me looking up as the old-birds I guess were returning to their homes.

This week is porch week, even with the humidity. I kidded my wife that yesterday was a three shirt day, I think I drank three bottles of gatorade and six bottles of water before I called it quits.

80 now, 92 later and very humid.

My old weather station used the tipping bucket and as far as I could tell it never failed to work. After I bought this unit and found out it had a flow meter I was a little concerned. But after 2.5 years it seems to be fine.

I got lucky when I hooked up the third function stuff for the grapple on the new tractor, Rick, and the "sense" of the switch came out correctly. The odd thing, though, is that the new switch is left and right, where the old one is up and down. So now, right is open and left is close, where on the old tractor up is open and down is close. Kubota used the same connectors on both wires that go to the switch, so had the sense been wrong, it would have been easier to just swap those two wires. Hope yours turn out as easy.

The CV19 crew took the long weekend off at the county, so we'll get three days of statistics today. There was a big jump up last week; hoping to see something of a decline, but don't think it'll happen.

Hope you can resurrect that Speedaire, Kyle. Be a shame to put a Chinese pump on it.

Good luck with the RV, Drew, but could you use it for temporary housing if your release date doesn't coincide with an opening at the next place?

Sure seems to be a lot of hype surrounding that new weather station, David. My "too good to be true" meter is pegged, especially considering the price. Not that I'm in love with the Davis that's out on the pole here, especially considering how expensive parts are. Hopefully won't have to cross that bridge anytime soon!

That was a good suggestion to write out the programming steps on a piece of paper, Ron. Only problem was I didn't get past step three, where the thing was supposed to beep after three pushes on the valet button. But hooking up both power wires works now that I disconnected the power leads to the GPS tracker. Unfortunately that's as far as I got yesterday. Turned the paper over with the programming steps and filled the back of it up with questions for tech support. Might take more than one phone call to cover 'em all. The new relays came yesterday, so I'll start there today, then get on the phone. I'm not running into problems with Chenglish, there's just a lot of information that's just plain missing. Like how do I return all the settings to the factory defaults? And what are the factory defaults, anyway? Or what happens if I don't want to use a feature; do I still need to hook up the related wires to get other things to work? I was able to get the alarm to go off, but now how do I clear the LCD display on the key fob remote to stop the flashing alert symbols? :confused2: I'm not the first person to have run into these problems, but I'm not finding the usual online forums and such. Almost like the maker doesn't want consumers doing the installs...

76 degrees going for 88 and 60% chance of rain this morning. And I had intended to mow today OR tomorrow, because the yard really needed mowing. So I got up about 3:45 a.m. this morning, had a cup of coffee, did my morning exercises, got some spare ribs going in the crockpot, put the garbage and recycling bin out front, checked the weather and radar and saw rain coming from the west. No moon showing, so it was really dark when I went out to mow. Had to use a flashlight to find the light switch on the EGO mower, but got its headlight going and got to mowing as fast as I could. I was ALMOST done mowing when it started sprinkling, so I didn't really get wet finishing. The string trimming and edging can wait for another day, but I was done mowing by 6:15 a.m. and put the mower away without cleaning it up.

Good morning! 78˚F heading to the high 90s.
My wife said she heard rain last night and the little bit of rain in the plastic rain gauge in the ground had 1/8" but that could have been from the sprinkler the day before.

Jay thanks for the warning on the Davis/Catalina compatibility issue.

David and Randy that weather station has a
Haptic rain sensor that measures rainfall by sensing raindrops striking the station's top. The tilting bucket one I had last time was a favorite place for spider webs.

I sent in my application for that weather station and hope to hear back from the CA this week. We can have them here but placement is critical so they need to know where you are going to put it. They give guidelines where to put it but since most people don't read the rules the weather station requires approval of an application that includes a pic of the station and a plat of the yard with the exact placement. The rule is simple 20' from back fence and at least 5' from side fence and no higher than 5' It looks like the stations are back ordered so it might be a few weeks before I can give a review.

The sheetrock repair is painted and ready to test for movement, all we need is some 20˚F weather.

Kyle I use this Mrs. Wages Salsa Tomato Mix, Medium, W536-J7425 at Tractor Supply Co.
to make my salsa. It is easy and very good and can be found at tractor supply or Walmart. I do not follow the first step of scalding and peeling the tomatoes, it is unnecessary. Just cut the tomatoes, ad the mix and vinegar and cook for 10 minutes. I picked another 6 pounds of tomatoes yesterday and am going to make another batch of salsa.

71°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 91° today.

Hot and humid Saturday found me inside most of the day, conserving energy. Decided to take an hour nap, and awoke three hours later. So much for that afternoon.

We had an early breakfast Sunday morning, then got out while the dew was still on the grass and started mowing. She was on the zeroturn mowing the fenced in back yard and everything in front of the house, and I was on the rider getting everything else behind the house and barn. We got done right around noon, and I started trimming some low-hanging tree branches. We stopped and ate lunch around noon. On our way back out to the barn, it started raining. There had been some small pop-up storms that stayed to the south of us most of the morning, but they finally found us. Oddly, moving east to west. She went back to the house, and I rode it out in the barn until it was done, then put away the freshly washed mowers. The sun came out after a few more pop-ups, and it got hot and humid again. Looks like more of the same for today. But, at least the grass is shorter now.

When .22 ammo got scarce a few years ago, Peter, we had good luck finding everything we wanted through the AmmoSeek website. Lots of sources there.

I suppose you can call it old fashioned, Kyle. I call it right thinking. I remember reading someone's advice many years ago that went something to the effect of "Never let your kids play a game named after a felony." I still think that's pretty good advice.
