Good morning!!!!

That's an awful lot to deal with, Jay, but I'm still very happy to hear from you, even though, aside from your wife's improved health, your news is not good. Sometimes being able to vent to people that care is helpful, if that works for you, I'm all ears.

Look on the bright side, though. At least you don't have a Vanagon project...

RNG- One of the things that I missed during my hiatus was reading about your and David's various projects. I learn a lot from what you two and others post about their projects and "stuff."

Rswyan- I have nothing to do with your "floater."

That cayenne pepper spray that I made is more potent than I planned. 3 hours after I made and applied it I and have since had numerous hand washings I still can not touch "sensitive areas" on my body without some burning. :(

Welcome back Jay. glad you and your wife are doing better. If you are in need I am only 25 or 30 miles away.

Anybody know what happened to our other missing member - the young fellow who was raising chickens - down in KY or TN I think ?

Phil- Thanks. Did you get nailed by the Tstorms the other day? With that system I saw very little Tstorm activity all the strong cells skirting my area. I have received 1.80" of rain with the past 3 weather events.

Randy- Thanks. It was one thing dealing with this stuff professionally; it was a lot more intense on a more personal level.

FWIW/PSA: If anyone here has a Mac computer (especially Catalina OS) do not buy Davis Weather Instrument products. Despite their marketing literature Davis weather logging/tracking products are incompatible with the newer Macs. I recently spent +$1K on this personal weather station and now (according to one of their own techs) have $420 worth of incompatible (worthless) logging and WIFI components. 30 years ago I swore never again to buy a Davis Weather product due to their elitist attitudes and poor customer support; I should have "listened" to myself. :( I did send a certified letter to their CEO about the internet misrepresentation of their products. I really do not expect a response from him nor Sales & Marketing personnel.

So glad to see you are back Jay. Sorry about all the trials and tribulations you and wife had to endure. Guess we can call off search and rescue. 🤙

Jay, I was never happy with the Davis / Non Mac crap. I ended up with the wifi data logger that attaches to console, not the computer and did a link to weather underground. Used to be able to go there and get all my historical data, not sure that is still possible. Really dislike the newer Davis software as well.

Still running Mojave on a 2016 MacBook Pro, Jay, with no problems at all with the Davis Pro2 being monitored by Weather Tracker. Using a serial to USB converter/dongle to hook up to the Davis A.T. adaptor from the Pro2 base station, which communicates wirelessly to the weather station components all the way on the other side of the house. Seeing as how it's a stucco house, I'm very surprised and pleased that the signal is that strong.

I have as of yet no need to switch over to Catalina, and from what I've seen on the 16" MPB, I'll put it off as long as possible. Just too many weird things (temporary cursor freezes, sound inputs switching by themselves) going on, especially considering how many revisions that version of the OS has.

PM me if you'd like additional details, OK?

David and RNG- Thanks. I/We have 4 Macs I may be able to work around this CatalinaOS challenge. The tech with whom I spoke really PO'd me from his tone of voice, attitude, and lack of help (just like 30 years ago. I probably talked to this same guy 30 years ago; or maybe his clone.).
