Good morning!!!!

70 going to 90, and humidity is supposed to drop a bit.

Don, sorry about your neighbor. You be careful!

Ron, great to see those hawk pix. Kyle, sorry they bother your chickens. They catch a lot of field mice/rats/voles around this area (and probably a chicken now and then).

Eric, touching story about yout friend and the tool. I use the tool just below it on my fences.

Did some grilling yesterday afternoon for a late lunch...we both decided we were still too full and skipped supper.

Trees are shaking too much, my anemometer for whether I can spray. Lots of mowing, trimming and lopping to do anyway.

Good morning, 60 now, 85 later and hopefully no rain. Rest of the week is supposed to be dry, somewhere between 85 and 90 for the high temperatures.

You didn稚 get that rain yesterday rswyan, we did. Rained hard 2X in the afternoon. We just finished mowing when the skies opened up the first time. After the rain Saturday and 2 heavy rains yesterday, had standing water in some low spots. Garden is WAY too wet to get in. It needs some attention.

Between holiday, furlough day, and a couple of vacation days, got all week off.....better get moving

Everyone stay safe out there

Snakes alive/dead! Killed one in the chicken coop Friday. Then yesterday I went to start my 4310 (which starts with a millisecond turn of the key), and heard commotion under the hood. I turned it off as fast as I could....Was worried the neighbor's cat got in there, but it's plenty warm here. Then I worried possibly a chicken? I raised the hood as it smelled to high heaven like buzzard puke. Saw white and yellow splattered about from the cooling fan. Finally saw a large chicken snake. I guess the yellow and white came from the fan belt squishing a half digested egg out of it. Did I say how bad it smelled? I had to take off the side covers and power wash everything. All this to turn over my compost pile.....I went ahead and decided to do some mowing with it while I had it out. I cut about 3 acres with it. Takes too long with only 25 pto hp available (johnson grass weeds were hood high in places). Put it away and got the big tractor and went to cutting. Cut another 10 acres or so. Need to cut another 10 acres. It was so relatively cool and breezy, good for shredding/slashing. There were thunderstorms to my east about 30 miles away. Some places Anyway, the chicken snake had fallen out (mangled) and dead.

We have a lot of floating duckweed in the pond this year....There is always a new "weed de l' année"...

Worship this morning, then picked up carry out from our usual Sunday Italian place.
Lady from church that is from the same county in Ohio that I’m from gave me some interesting history write ups of an old 1800s mill near her hometown. I got scanner out and made copies. Then since scanner was out, and too hot outside, I scanned more of mom and dads loose photos from 1950s- 70s. Then I stored the photos in envelopes by year. Fortunately most of these photos had year and month stamped on them. The ones I have from late 30s to early 50s don’t. And mom wrote on the back of a lot of these.
After I put scanner away, I discovered a few more pictures in bottom of the box.
I also did some organization of some of the digital photos I’ve already scanned from that era. And then did a backup of all my photos.

It is good that you are doing this. Seems a lot of my old pictures are these tiny 2x2 or so...which the details are not that great if sized up.

Drew, I had lots of crazy dreams last night. Good and weird.

Ron, love the pics. I'd have to be "en guard" at all times if those hawks were my neighbors. Beautiful birds, just need them to live another mile away. Glad the barn doors are good to go. That looks like a heavy duty structure. Glad I don't have to re-roof it. Steep and high.

Don, hope the neighbor gets better. Any idea how he got it?

Mostly, getting his miles in.

Rich, I was glad to read your young rider is doing so well. Flat track is coming back.

Welcome K5lwq. Bachelor hood has it's plusses and minuses. Hope you stay well.

We need more rain soon.

Prayers for all to have a good day.

75 outside this AM. Heading to lower 90's. Hot and humid today.

After the guests left this weekend, I managed to bushhog the back forty, and finally got it done, yesterday. Even a passing thundershower did not stop me. Love the windshield wiper.
Tractor actually had a regen happen, and it looks like it was at 33.4 hours. I was expecting at 20? But was told anywhere from 20 to 50 for the first one. If I was not constantly scanning the instrument panel, I would not have noticed. And, it looked like it took less than 15 minutes to complete. Since we are now approaching 50 hours, we are running it a little harder, hoping to "break it in" gently.

Hope all have a great day, a good work week. Be safe.

Good morning! Mid 70s too mid 90s today, cloudy now.
Kyle it may be a while before I can talk to my neighbor to see if he any of his associates have C19.

The sheet rock people will come out today to evaluate the cracks in the ceiling, A five month delay because of the covid, and now we have the most infected ever in the county. The warm weather has expanded the sheetrock and the cracks have virtually disappeared, sure would have been nice for them to come 5 months ago.

Eric, that is a nice tool, I sure could have used that when I was taking down my 3 mile fence, all I used was the other two tools in the photo.

RNG they now make the little run around vacuums with the ability to text you when they get stuck.

Good morning. It was 79° and way humid this morning. Our forecast says 90° this afternoon so .. with the humidity the "feels like will be well over 100°.

I drove into Katy, last evening, for our Grand Daughter's HS graduation. It was held at their new football stadium and the places to sit and keep appropriate distancing were well marked and every other row was left open. Never the less ..there were Bozos who walked in late and just plopped down in the open rows. Guess they've .. been living in a cave for the last 4 months.

After leaving the stadium, on the way back to the ranch at 9:30 p.m. .. I stopped for fuel at and got online with Domino's and ordered a Carryout Pizza from their store in Sealy. Timing was perfect .. as I pulled in I got a text that my order was ready. Took it home and that was dinner. First pizza I've had in 2-3 years.

Last week, as I was preparing to remove and replace the flat face QD's on the New Holland 3rd function, I determined that I needed a 1 7/16" wrench. I've got open end / box end wrenches all the way up to 1 3/4" .. including 1 3/8" and 1 1/2" .. but no 1 7/16". No problem .. checked Amazon and they had one with high ratings for a little over $17 so put it in my cart for delivery Monday (today). I also needed a little fluorescent starter for the light above the kitchen sink in the shop quarters but, couldn't remember which one I needed. Headed to the shop and found I already had a spare starter so .. I installed it and went on my merry way. I discovered yesterday .. I'd never actually hit the order button for the wrench, so now .. it gets here Wednesday.

The plan today .. is to finish mowing the 9 acres around the house then PW the last patio and the area around the fire pit.

Snakes in a tractor Kyle? Might make a good subject for a movie?

Hope everyone has a great start to your week.

Prayers to all.

Good morning to all! Low around 60, high for today should hit around 88. No chances of rain until the coming weekend.

Yesterday was a lot of carrying totes / boxes for me, lots of sorting for wifey. We got all of her hobby / sewing stuff into the new shack.
Today, I will start getting my stuff together and bring some over. I have an extensive collection of N-gauge trains that are currently all boxed / packaged nicely. They might be the first to come over into the containers. They will not be set up, so makes sense to just go storage to storage.
It is the r/c stuff that is going to take up the most room, so they will have to get strategic places. I am almost getting excited that I will again be able to use them!

I will have to cut in a runway out on the property for a couple of them (the gas / nitro ones), so that will give me an excuse for some tractor time.... then, of course, it will have to be maintained....:D

Ron, nice pics of the hawks, are they acting like mates or more like siblings?

Kyle, sorry to read about your snake adventures.... I bet that cleanup was not fun...

I hope Jay surfaces soon......

Everyone have a great day and start to the week!

Rick, NO PIZZA IN 2-3 years? ..... I have to get my pizza fix at least once a month!

Today is “ dog food day “, when we make the supply for the next month. Wifey will be tired of being in the kitchen, so guess what.... it is pizza night!
