Price of meat at Sams Club has roughly doubled.

Family pack of hamburger chuck 80/20 is up to $6.38/lb Pork chops about $4.30/lb OUCH!

Bet Don is laughing right now.

The young crane is about 1 month old. Takes about 3 months to get feathers so they can fly. That is first baby one I have seen in my yard. They must have a nest across street from my place. That's where they came from and returned later in the day. Looks I have 3 or 4 different groups of Cranes visiting my place daily.

That's really cool Ron. The clarity on both your crane pics was outstanding.

We have a chicken/hen that is getting "broody" on our front porch. She laid an egg there (unusual) first time yesterday. Crazy chicken.

Was 63 now rising to 77 as rain has moved out - even see a nickel sized patch of blue...but t-storms maybe later, when I have to take Coco to vet...they are still doing curbside service.

Got an email from derm doc this morning...they are opening up, but with your vehicle as the waiting room...curbside temp check and travel history, then face mask in the office until doc says remove.

Ron, my favorite pic so far...little crane and adult...excellent sharpness. Our chipmunks are occasionally eating the meat out of the maple helicopters...Thomas, cool you have some young ones. A pair of bobwhites have taken up residence in our yard now...recently getting a stray black cat repeatedly on the bear cam at night, and saw it yesterday during the day, so I am worried and on patrol.

Rain played me like a fool again yesterday...each time I waited for the grass to dry, and when I headed out to mow, the drizzle returned...until finally I got the mower a couple hundred yards out from shelter and the harder rain hit...none of it ever showing on radar.

Jay, sounds like it was quite the fishing experience...but don't give up...you've got some great trout streams.

60F and overcast @ 11:15, enjoying first cup of coffee.

Just got done pouring down rain ... :(

Hourly forecast says decreasing likelihood of precipitation as the day wears on with an actual chance of seeing the sun some time later today ... perhaps around 16:00 ?

Noticed yesterday that the front end of the left curl cylinder has been banging into the loader frame. Not sure why that is ... will need to look into that further.

Appears that McMaster has a nice adjustable pin spanner wrench that would work on the curl (and lift) cylinders for not outrageous money:

McMaster-Carr

Thinking that the one with the 2" to 4 3/4" range would probably be the one to get for my (likely) needs, assuming the pin diameter is correct for my cylinders. Might be the next smaller one though.

They claim to have them "in stock" ... but I don't know which warehouse their website is looking at for that divination. (They have both in stock locally ...)

Need to locate a crescent wrench to undo the hydraulic hoses (Have tools scattered in multiple locations with various ongoing projects ...) so I can swing by NAPA and get 2 new hoses made up while I'm out.

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable, productive, safe and DRY day ... (except for those who could use some rain ... :D)

RS, one of my visits to Txdon had seals go bad on his tractor FEL. Took it to his local dealer. They repaired it while we waited. Don and I did a complete tour of all the tractors and attachments around the place. Somehow we managed to not buy anything other than the repair. :confused3::D

That sounds ... extremely dangerous ... :D

RS both the FEL tilt cylinders started leaking after 10 years (1000 hours) within 6 months of each other.

Well, I guess I can't complain then ... I've apparently gotten my money's worth (2200 hours and 15 or so years)

Both times Kubota fix them while I waited (about 30-60 minutes).

I may take the cylinders in and see if they can get to them to pop the gland nuts loose if nothing else ... assuming they are not backed up.

Almost hate to show up on a Friday afternoon with a "Can you drop everything and do this right away ?" ... mebbe no biggie though ... we'll see ...

Have some research to do as far as replacing the seals without pooching them goes ...

One thing I am a little curious about is the loader control valve ... how much leak down/bleed by does it have at this point ?

RNG, my tractor is not always inside, sometimes parked just under the carport type roof I built last year. That means stuff still gets rain if any wind. I’m thinking something like a rain cap to put on monitor and cameras.

I am trying to get motivated this morning to go shovel the gravel off the trailer. I tried tilting / lifting the trailer yesterday to slide the stone at least to the end.... nope... stayed in a pile, just now on a steep angle. I even had the wheels off the ground. I will try it again today.

You're just not trying hard enough, Ted. ;) The RedNeck in me wants to suggest tying the trailer tongue to your FEL with the safety chains and lifting it clean off the ground. That way you can make it act like a dump bed and spread it out at the same time.:laughing::laughing::laughing:
