21 right now...high in the mid-40's today. The drive and walks are completely clear after yesterday's warmth...roads should be OK too...
Governor of Vermont just put out the "Stay at Home" order starting 1700 this afternoon. We'll see how that goes...

31 here going to 40 with a cloudy day. I'm working from home and we just found out my wife is put on furlough with no pay till further notice.
Last round of snow was another heavy wet mess. The B2650 handled it great. Thomas, you and your wife will love how much it can do more and more.
Jay-glad you got the bed figured out. We are going on 20 years with our sleep number with only a bad remote.
Waiting to hear if my next round of test is canceled or not. Still doing ok but the last couple of days have not been good.
Hope everyone stays healthy!

45 and raining, going to 48.

Hawkeye, sounds like a fairly normal transition to retirement.

Thomas, glad the tractor performed well on the snow and that you got some seat time. Anytime you need some more seat time, how about I call your wife, tell her I'm from her workplace and that she is urgently needed? :)

David, tell Sophie how nice her pix were to see since we have been cloudy last couple of days.

RNG, anytime you come east, let's go up to Tim's distillery, about 50 miles away.

Took Coco for a hike to the river yesterday, while waiting for the fields to dry. Only a couple of groups with kids and dogs...everyone enjoying some fresh air. Was surprised to see the redbuds and wild crabapples blooming, and the mandrakes up. The river water is very clear, so could see a beaver stirring up some sediment on the bottom.

Finished my bush hogging, took over 3 more hours...the red tailed hawk kept me company. I ran one fat vole out of the grass, and the hawk dove off the sycamore, and without seeming to slow down, grabbed it and circled back toward its nest.

Good morning, the only white stuff around here is blossom. Waterproofs can stay on the coathoak for yet another day too -

Sun at last.png

Thanks for the snow pic JB and all those talking about rain, makes me appreciate this all the more.

Flies seem to be particularly ravenous to say it is only spring, I need to splash on some "jungle formula" today after my blood fed far to many yesterday.

Nice sun rise and set David. Do you still have guests to share it with, or is this virus starting to keep them away ?

LS, you have a good son, you do realise what he sacrificed to let you get some more tractor time digging that trench ? Secretly he had planned a dramatic video, toiling for days with pick and shovel, the final shot in the video zooming in to show his hands covered in blisters. Instead, bless him, he let you have all the fun while he could only watch paint dry

Wnd, does Coco hunt voles ? On warm days Max can happily spend all afternoon listening for them moving in long grass before pouncing. If this food shortage continues, we may have to encourage him to catch a few more for the barbecue :licking:

Good morning, temp now is 25°F and it is going up to 48. Wind SSE 6 mph. Mainly cloudy.

The D-I-L gets her colonoscopy thingy done today as well as an endoscopy. Depending on what they find lurking in there will depend on when she can come home. She is saying that if she has cancer that she WILL be going home to discuss it with us. She would rather die at home with her husband and fur-babies.

I gotta go to the hardware store today and get some metric nuts. Two separate jobs, put the backho on the tractor and change the exhaust on it. I have all the parts except the nuts and bolts. I am taking the 1.75" grass burner exhaust off and putting a 2.5" stack on. Pictures to follow. The Kioti mechanic I was talking to told me that because there was zero emission crap on it that everything would be okay. He did suggest that instead of 2 90° L-bows that I use 2 or 3 45° L-bows instead, less restrictions. I need some hi-temperature black paint, too.

That is my game-plan for today. Tomorrow will be clearing the piled up snow from in front of the house. The guy that built this place put the front and back doors on the slope sides of the house, instead of on the gable ends. When the built up snow slides off the steel roof, it all lands on the deck and right in front of the windows. Last spring the snow was so high that we could only see out from half-way up the front room window.

That is my day in a nutshell.

Have a safe day all
