It may be dull outside but at least it is dry, thanks to the high pressure weather system sitting over us. The air pressure peaked at 1050 milli bars, the highest for 25 years. No wonder it was hard to get out of bed this morning, with so much air pressing

Good Morning. It was 37° here this morning. Clear skies, light winds and expect to see 62° this afternoon.

I spent the day yesterday cleaning and starting some reorganization in the shop yesterday so I never got around to lighting off one of our four new burn piles. We're 90% likely to get rain tomorrow so ... I'll probably wait until the end of the week.

Don ... 98% approval of anything is phenomenal.

Drew ... sound like slow but, steady improvement.

Ted ... this ... is your brain. This is your brain on gravel.

RNG ... Planes, flying over central Texas, still calibrate their compass' by Don's "Compass Rose".

29 degree low, going for a 52 degree high and mostly cloudy today. But supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow.

Friday, I got the first recall notice for my 2017 Ford Escape. The recall notice says the possible effects are "Coolant intrusion into the cylinder bores can lead to coolant loss, excessive tailpipe smoke, or illuminated malfunction indicator lights (MIL) due to engine misfire and could potentially lead to engine damage."

The solution . . . Powertrain control module reprogramming. It probably took my dealer 15 or 20 minutes this morning.

RNG use the sun to find true South. There are two ways to do it. One is an exact time (usually so many minutes before or after noon) in you area, date specific, a shadow of a stick will point North. You just have to find the chart for your area for the exact time on a specific date. Or this way. 4 Ways to Find True North Without a Compass - wikiHow. I did the chart in the area at an exact minute shadow to confirm the accuracy of the compass rose.

Good morning to all! Low was only at 33, going up just a little to 38. I guess that means rain this morning, not snow :thumbsup:

Sitting here waiting for the gravel.... for some reason, I am rocking back and forth in my chair, looking around desperately.....:shocked:

The local radar does not look promising for me to go get ‘ stoned ‘ on the tractor.... I will try once the gravel gets here. Even just a little bit spread will make it better.

Ron, tell your son... AWESOME! Now he has to schedule some time at a track to see what it will really do!

Talking about the OTC meds, the store brands contain the same identical ingredients as brand names, usually made in the same plant, just labels/ packaging are different. These were the meds that no longer have patents, and were no longer super profitable to the big pharm. If you read the active ingredients, they are the same. Acetaminophen is Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen is Ibuprofen, Aspirin is Aspirin. As long as the dosage is the same, they are the same.

20°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 34° today. Looks like some manner of wintry stuff coming at us Thursday and Friday ... different depending on who you listen to. iThingie just shows snow, but guy on the radio who studies meteors says it will probably be a mixed bag again.

Spent some time last night in the studio reprogramming the electronic drums to trigger the computer drum program. Everything is working great except the hi-hats, which won't let me change the note values for some reason. Slow, but getting there. Getting a bit of latency, which I likely attributed to the interface. Going direct with the new USB cable should fix that. Put on the headphones and played for awhile. Quite awhile. When I finally shut everything down and went upstairs, Wifey was already in bed. Gonna be a long day today.

I am both a Merthiolate and Mercurochrome survivor. Did a lot of stupid stuff as a kid. It's amazing there's still any skin at all on my knees. :laughing:

RNG, I truly had an addiction for accessories for my Goldwing when I had it.... I could not let a piece of chrome trim get by me on EBay. Half of the stuff I turned around and resold. It was a relief in more ways than one when I sold the bike.

Yes, and the "sky is falling" folks are saying that it'll flip polarity soon, and for a period of time there will be no magnetic field at all.

I went with magnetic North because that was the default on the iPhone. It was not to maximize solar rays but to be accurate to whoever checked it on their Smartphone.

A nice brisk 1F this morning at the house when i got up,
left the house at 7 a mile down the road down to -3,
about 14 miles on -12F ( lower elevation and next to the river).
Now back home and finishing breakfast and it's up to 16F.
