Hawkeye- I am sorry ro read about your ongoing respiratory illness. I hope that it resolves soon. My Wife and I had "The Cough" for around 5 weeks before we started improving. I only recently stopped the pre-exertion inhaler and the OTC expectorant.

Wow, yeah, that's old. The old Busch Stadium (2), no dome stadium yet on the Cervantes Convention Center, Kiener Plaza just west of the Old Court House is still an empty lot, and all those boats still on the river front. The Admiral steam boat, just south of the Eads Bridge, was still in operation in 1987 when I turned 21, and my first Wife and I took a cruise on it for my birthday. That thing was huge. I believe it has since been dismantled. The Goldenrod Showboat, which I believe is second from the south leg of the Arch, had been docked elsewhere for years, with several groups trying to get it restored. It was destroyed a couple of years ago by a "mysterious" fire.
No Casino Queen on the East St. Louis side yet.

Downtown St. Louis has changed a lot since that photo.

ok, regarding job transition, met with a guy on my old team this afternoon...

I have a monthly meeting with a coworker (my old job) that we just discuss issues, etc. Catch up if you will.. I didn't mention anything about my upcoming job change, but waited to see if he would mention it (my manager was supposed to discuss with him and the rest of the team a week ago so they could figure out who was picking up my work). We talked for 2 hours, he did not mention it and apparently does not know that I am moving to a different team Dec 1. I found out a bunch of information that filled some of the background for things I had heard.. I am amazed that the team is not aware of my upcoming change, gonna be some upset folks is my guess. I'm not going to rock the boat by spilling the beans. Apparently, all but two of the team expressed concerns about a new manager that did not know the job at all (what her new team does), even HR cautioned the second level manager about promoting a new manager to take a senior (most have 35+ years at the company, at least 10 years in current role) team.

There were just too many options that I outgrew (too old) to enjoy on the new Jeep truck, like removal doors.
Is he planning on taking it off road, I read they are #1 in that category?

He痴 had several Wranglers that looked like cover vehicles for 4WD Magazine, he use to trail ride and rock crawl, but I suspect this one won稚 see anything worse than beach sand. At $62,000 sticker I wouldn稚. Good looking truck, but that痴 a lot of money.

It was totally destroyed, in September 2008, by Hurricane Ike.

I read about that some time back, like Ocean View, Coney Island, the Casino in Nags Head, they belong to history now.
