Good morning!!!!

42°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 58° today.

The effects from the cold seem to be coming and going. Not too bad during the day, but still not getting much sleep at night from all the coughing. I ended up going downstairs and sleeping on the couch last night so I wouldn't keep The Wife up all night. I'll be glad when this runs its course.

Nice picture, Ron. Great colors you're getting there.

Good morning. It's 47° this morning. Winds out of the north at 20 mph, gusting to 30 mph. The high is only supposed to get to 60° this afternoon. We had rain off and on all night but, I've not checked rain gauges yet. What ever we got ... is welcome.

With the strong north winds ... this may be a "work in the shop day" with roll up doors closed.

Hope everyone has a great Friday.

Prayers to all.

Good morning! 61 going for 72 later. Clouds will come and go with rain moving in late tomorrow and all day Sunday again. At least it’s not cold.
Doctor put me on Keflex and bactrim prophylacticly to avoid cellulitis. I have a tiny scratch but that’s all it takes sometimes.
Lots going on in Ellen’s family to keep us busy. Her dad is recovering remarkably well for 83.
Gotta get started, good days and prayers for all.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

It was a 36ºF hazy red sky sunrise for today’s low temperature; increasing cloudiness and 47ºF presently; and I anticipate a rainy afternoon with high temperature in the high 50ºF’s. Brogen, AKA Droolius Barkus, got me moving earlier than normal due to some unknown animal activity outside. I had planned on doing some finishing rotary cutting with the NH, but it is still too wet and it looks like the rain expected here later today is moving in a little more quickly than I had anticipated. :(

“… Maybe my last Toyota servicing.”- David I am sorry to read about your generator challenges and your Tundra. Good luck. I/We have to arrange our own towing as well due to location and distance, and I will not give the closest tow service any of our business due to some BS they tried to pull on my Wife years ago. In addition, I will not set foot in any Toyota dealership nowadays due to their past unscrupulous business/“service” practices. I am “married” to a local independent Tundra owning mechanic. He and his Tundra owning mechanic Brother are honest, reliable, and much cheaper than the dealerships. They would rather repair a failing component than replace it.

Eric- If I do not balance our different heat sources sufficiently while running our wood stove it becomes a sauna here very quickly. I/We can not get USPS deliveries here at home, but I have given a couple of UPS, FEDEX, and DHL drivers some rather disturbing “visuals.”:embarrassed:

Rich- I am sorry to read about your company iPhone as well as your task focused leadership.

“…. I am not sure what I will get up to today.”- Bill The weather here is not cooperating today, but I do know that later Wifey and I need to go to the “Big City” for groceries and afterwards a really decent Italian restaurant for an early dinner. They make an awesome good eats seafood stew there.

Billy- I am happy to read that your round trip went w/o incident and you are home safe and sound, MIL’s house has been sold. I am originally from PA; the deer roadkill #’s have always been high. I still try to avoid driving during the times and weather that deer are active.

RonJH- Thanks for sharing your picture. It is high quality to me. You have a really nice property  I always follow the weather, but once I see one of those crazy 240 hour out models depicting snow I tend to step it up a notch. There was a delusional doozy about a week ago depicting a nor’easter around Halloween. There will probably be a rain event in that timeframe, but no snow. It has happened before.

BEF- I am sorry to read about your work dream. I still get some “what if” work dreams on rare occasions.:(

I hope that everyone dealing with aggravations today gets some + resolutions, those mending continue mending, and the rest of us avoid aggravations and remain healthy.

My + thoughts and prayers.

Good morning to all! Low went down to 21 last night, freezing the small patches of remaining snow. Heavy frost and patchy fog hanging around at daybreak. High is supposed to go up to 52 today, similar temps for tomorrow. Monday will welcome another cold front and possible snow showers. Where did Fall go?

David, sorry to read about the Toyota difficulties / problems. Sounds like there is ongoing problems with the service dept?

Drew, hope you have an uneventful 'parking experience'. Doesn't the RV have on of those "hands free parking" features? I just saw a commercial for Ford's "automatic trailer backing", not sure if I could trust it to back an expensive bout or RV trailer.

Everyone have a great day!.... ITS FRIDAY! Prayers sent.

68°F and no rain

Tow truck for tundra expected mid morning.

Transfer control box mounted after testing to verify proper functioning. Need to run the three 12vdc circuit wires and hook up and label. Actually only the line from inverter is powered. The other two are the on-off lines from relays to generators. Be glad to see it done, taken too long. I see grass getting taller calling me to get on the tractor.

Dinner invite at friends tonight. Looking forward to that.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Hey Drew, yes and no.
Grew up helping my Dad, an electrical contractor/master electrician, so got most of the household basics. Never had a generator until moving here, a learning experience. Took me over a year to get my 1st diesel generator to work via autostart. Took me that long to figure out that loss of main power triggered an AC relay and I’m fiddling with a 12vdc connection. Worked great once I figured out how to bypass the builtin. Dealer was less than helpful with offgrid, just that it should work.

Me too, Ron. I’ve mentally solved many a problem in the dark of the night. Usually awaken less than refreshed, but sometimes excited to try out the solution.

Really nice autumn pic.

Ted, perhaps not so much on going problems, just wanting to be informed.
A few years ago we were having lunch with the owner and my wife mentioned how she likes getting an early morning appointment as she prefers to wait (21miles each way) but frustrated that often the tech isn’t even scheduled to be in yet. David said he rarely gets customer feedback, especially the helpful type identifying a problem but appreciated being informed.

David, I'm just impressed by what you know. It sounds like you got your EE home schooled.

heading downtown early tomorrow to local Napa and see if they will make me a custom 30amp rv cable,
65 feet long, minimum 10 gauge, preferably 8 gauge.
They normally just do hydraulics but they have a do it all attitude so I'll give them a try.
