Interesting day and still early afternoon.

Yesterday I was able to get new transfer switch control wired up. When it didn’t test out with a 9v battery, I just called it a day, figuring it was my poor memory that I used a 9v last iteration. So this AM, neatened up the wires while waiting for run to PO and configured test using 12v from my diesel pump battery. Not good. Smoked a black wire. Figured probably me with a bit of slop. Make new wire, tried again and fried red wire. Figured a good time to make PO run.

Got dogs loaded into truck. Dash lit up with assorted error lights, same as before with some additional. Truck started but with some very minor engine surging. Shut it down, restarted. Figured I go to PO and just leave running in case. Barely got truck out of garage when it died ☹️. Would have to guess earlier problem not solved. Several calls into dealership. Waiting for them to arrange the tow.

So back to transfer switch project. Checked and rechecked everything and appeared relay was operating NC instead of NO. Doubled checked that the colored leads for relay block were same order as my working relay. No joy - took a break. Turns out the new relay has same color wires but arranged differently. Once I got it sorted out by the terminal #s appears to be working. Taking another break while epoxy sets on my terminal blocks and I await the tow call.

Just another day coming up a bit short. Ahhhhhh retirement

Send the snow to Texas. LS are you sure you don't just live close to a cotton gin that kind of looks like my wife's grandparents house during the late summer that was next door to the cotton gin.

Ron I like the size of the iPhone 8 but the battery and camera of the 8plus. I think I'll go with the 8 because I just like sticking it in my pocket and get my wife the 8plus. I'll be keeping an eye open for the best Black Friday sales. The 8 will also charge on the Stinger charging pad, the pad the corvette will get NEXT year.

RNG I was just going to start replacing parts in the refrigerator when I got the November Sales add from Costco. This counter depth refrigerator will be $1000 off.

My sons 2017 Tacoma has the charging pad also. They are handy for sure.

You win for the worst day. Relays are labeled denergized state, I thought that might have been it until I read to the end.

Good evening all. 64F this morning, and that was the high for the day. Overcast and light wind as well. Rain started about 10:30 with on/off ;ight drizzle and intensified after about an hour. Checked a bucket for water and had about 2 inches in it. Low is going to be 49F, not forecast to go colder today, and rain on tap tomorrow. Did get out and work on wood pile before the heavier rain. Started to work on screen door project but door does not fit the frame :( Likely out of square issue, but wife wants to take it back, who am I to argue? No nap today. Wife made a chuck roast for dinner with mashed taters and gravy.
Eric, must keep the boss happy.
Thomas I hope Mr wind helps more with your leaves than he helps me on the bike!
BEF hope the pains starts subsiding soon.
Ted, thanks for the snow pics.
RNG sounds like good progress, have fun on weekend ride.
Drew steaks and peppers almost as good as my wife's roast.
Don, such a timely sale!!
David sorry about the set backs, just like I thought I could keep wife happy with an hour or so of work :confused2:
prayers for all.

Day didn’t get better.
After waiting over an hour for the tow call, service rep called to say the service manager decided due to our location we would be responsible for our own towing but to help out wouldn’t be charging the diagnostic fee. REALLY??? But I’ll bite my tongue until I see final bill. What the manager doesn’t know is the owner has told us explicitly to inform him directly of service issues. I understood completely when told last week I was responsible, but considering I only drove home from repair to have it be not repaired is different. Maybe my last Toyota servicing.
Did make arrangements, tomorrow mid morning.

Good morning, I have gone into "winter mode" too, by feeding our wood burning range cooker with big pieces of elm that were reluctant to split. It has been putting out heat all night and now it's a little too warm in this kitchen. Have to keep clothes on though as wouldn't want to scare away the postman

David, very frustrating, hope you have a better day today.

Wng, I have been doing my best to keep up the price of your 3M shares by buying a pair of their Peltor Sportac ear defenders for shooting. Cost a little more than the ones I had before, but first impressions are that it will be worth it for the very comfortable fit and sound quality which is excellent - at least it is now I put the batteries the right way round :ashamed: :)

good morning all. A very nice day today, 55 out now going up to high 70's, back on with the t'shirt!
Hope to get lots done outside today, including fitting the rv under the shed. Not doing that before neighbor comes over for second set of eyes.
Scraping off roof a/c unit would be almost as bad as David's relay day...and his truck too!
David/Sodamo, do you have an electrical background that teaches you this?

I emailed my sister to see if she was out of power, not yet, smoke there yet? not yet...
Told her to demand her vacillating husband buy a Honda inverter gen until they get a whole house one put in, if ever.
They seem to be the quietest units out there, though at least twice as expensive as most others.
My sister and husband are academics/artists and are challenged to use an adjustable wrench correctly so they sure need an idiot proof unit.

Hope you all have a great day. Slow but sure Roy, then you'll be home.
