Does your RV fridge also run on 12V DC, Drew?
actually it does, maybe Ron can answer this but it should seek 12VDC first, then propane.

Not all RV’s have 3 way fridges. Many are 2 way. Gas and electric. These fridges need 12 dc to run regardless which operating source is selected. Many RV’s today have Residental fridges. Only work on 120 volt AC. Some are also run with a inverter.

The trailers we have looked at have all been propane/120v ac. But they have been in the 32-36 foot range.

Yep, we've owned one slide in pickup camper, 3 travel trailers, and 2 motorhomes and they all had the 2 way refrigerators, and while I certainly am not "recommending" it to anyone else, we always ran them on LPG on the road.

The Tundra is somewhat a mystery. Was having a good morning yesterday. Got my down and dirty dolly for backhoe and started on my generator reconfiguration when wife suggests we go to transfer station as she would like to also go to the give & take tent to look for books. Opportunity to go to PO and be rid of some trash, do good idea. Arrived, parked, got rid of trash. Decided to reposition truck while wife was in tent. She was done just minutes after shutting down truck. Went to restart and it sort of coughed and died. Check engine light, Trac light and blinking 4LO , crank but not fire. Not good cell at area either. Of course we had both pups with use. Luckily got hold of friend that lives quite near and she came, picked up Sophie and dogs to take home.
They also told Rich who was a mechanic before he was a pharmacist. He came but had no more idea than I. Called Toyota, they made appnt for today. Also arranged for tow, but that would be hour plus. Waited it out in Rich’s man cave until Sophie came back with Pilot and town company confirmed enroute.
As tow driver was getting positioned I turned key and it started. Made tow guy promise to stop if he saw me on side of road and I drove to dealership. Need regular servicing anyway so not a complete loss, but anxious to find out cause and cure of problem. Internet search wasn’t helpful.
I’m hopeful.

thanks guys, I turned off the tank now so I wouldn't forget it. I looked up the manual online, AC or propane only, not DC.
We got less rain here than I thought but the wind is starting to pick up.

David- I am happy that things turned out for you and everyone managed to have a relatively good time in the process.

That does not surprise me. My bud had one that had one of those Tundra out of control engine high RPM surge glitches in a school parking lot = He was lucky he only seriously damaged a heavy duty fence. His Tundra was in pretty decent shape for the mishap..... Once the cosmetics were fixed, it ran fine, and he traded it in immediately.

I was in the middle of nowhere in the Adirondacks and my Tundra would not start, but every idiot light was flashing. I saw icons that I never saw before. I remember that trac light and 4LO flashing I called a dealership 40 miles away and managed to get a really helpful service tech. There is a "secret button" hidden under the dash than can reset settings back to defaults. There was a secret sequence of starting and pressing and pressing-repressing that button and it cleared things up. There are 100's of pages dedicated to properly attaching infant/children car seats, and somewhere buried in the owner's manual a sentence or two about the "secret rest button." The button is well hidden; I'll never find that info again.

Likewise happy your misadventure was no worse than it was, David. Hopefully there's an error code stored somewhere in memory that will help your dealer figure out what's wrong. Sometimes if you google the symptoms with the make and model of the vehicle, you'll find thousand of people with the same problem, and a raft of possible solutions.

Most of the time, the engine management system can be reset by disconnecting the starter battery for five or so minutes. No secret button required.

I feel like I've been dragged kicking and screaming into the mysterious and perplexing world of computer controlled cars with the van build, as the ex-mechanic left quite a few dragon eggs in the wiring harness for me to straighten out. And the darn thing popped the P1500 code again last night just as I pulled into the cul-de-sac. It could be an over-voltage condition in the code spoofer, or the alternator/voltage regulator itself is over achieving. More homework...:confused2:
