61 going to 86. Nice.

Mostly, hope your cramps are gone. I had some a couple of days ago.

BEF, smart move getting moved from that bad situation. Hope you son gets to Arkansas? okay...give him the car keys to your Pilot?? :)

Kyle, I had to turn the game off when it got to 14-1. Read that the Astros got 9 more. :( Not much hope today with Verlander, either.
He is taking the pilot, but too far for him to go alone.

Ive enjoyed watching little league regional games. Also my son set me up with MLB on my phone, been watching yankees.

This is an inpatient rehab facility, not hospital per se. To go private rooms would mean cutting capacity in half. The hospital had private rooms.

Nice quiet night in new room. New Roommate is PHD student, aerospace engineer. Old roomate either gang member or drug dealer, shot 5 times....... I can see my old room windows out my window. The lights in old room were still on at 3 am.

49 right now...high in the mid-70's today.
Mowed and dump run yesterday...I'll do the trimming today

Drinking first cup of coffee. 54° with mostly sunny skies this morning. Heading to 83° with partly cloudy skies. Got mulch spread yesterday. It was more than just the mulch needed to move some large rocks that sunk in gardens to the point of almost hidden. Used the tractor FEL lift and hook chain around rocks for move. No real plans today. Something will get done.
My wife got a card yesterday in the mail. The 3D way the card was made caught both of us enough to share.

Jay, we all need a break from social media at times.

Don, the windmill project looks good. Lots of work even with a tractor to help.

Buckeye, glad you got a better roommate. Prayers sent.

Drew, the flowers and vase should help Randy with recovery.

Randy, shure hope they get your condition under control soon. Prayers sent.

Thomas, my wife is a picture saver. I was looking for a parade picture that our son was in when he was 2. Found pictures of my 2 IH tractors. Got my scanner working yesterday. I need to scan those pictures. Soon.

Wngsprd, I started taking CQ10 a few month ago. Do not take statins. But do see less muscle pain.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

I can't understand why hospital's charge so much and double people up. At a time when conversations and care should have privacy.

And the same for nursing homes.

78 degrees going for 101 today. It hit 100 briefly yesterday. But I got the yard mowed, edged, trimmed, and watered.

Good Sunday Morning. It was 75° here and 87% humidity. Forecast says 101° this afternoon.

After church, I plan to check / clean air filters and radiators on two tractors and the ZT. As dusty as it is, I should check the cab air filters as well.

I mowed between front fence and our road yesterday and about 2 miles of main road ditches.

Board Meeting this afternoon.

BEF .... It's good you were able to resolve your room situation.

Drew .... I'm glad you were able to complete your "A" sale without Craig's List craziness.

Astros .... awesome 23-2 win .... at Camben Yard! Verlander pitching today. White Sox .... are next.

Ron ... that's an interesting card.

Jay ... good to hear from you. Understand about SM. We don't do FB or the tweeting thing.

Hope everyone has a pleasant Sunday.

Prayers to all.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 7:15AM. Sunny. High 91F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

So far this summer, I've had good luck warding off cramps with a half Claussan dill pickle at lunch. Tasty, too!:licking:

Motorcycle ride went OK; adjusted new digital speedo to match GPS, hesitation gradually improved but not all gone, got brake pads/shoes bedded in better, then noticed clutch slipping on hard acceleration. I swapped the oil soaked friction plate for a worn but serviceable one from another bike during the rebuild, and apparently the wear profile of that disc and the pressure plates in the bike are different enough there's not sufficient contact between the three. The local dealer has a new spring and friction plate waiting for pickup, and I'll probably put new pressure plates in as well, just to be sure the issue is resolved.

Got the CVs reassembled and installed on the Vanagon's front axles yesterday, and loaded 'em with grease. For once I got more in the bearings than I did on me. I'll have a shot at getting them installed, along with the front diff, this morning.

But first, I'll clean the flu for the woodstove before I put the 32' extension ladder away. Never like that job, but it's got to be done.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Good Morning Everyone!!

A really pleasant, clear, breezy 46ºF for today’s low temp; a clear and breezy 70ºF presently; probably close to today’s predicted high temp. I saw a really good looking 6 point buck while walking Brogen this morning; luckily for me Brogen did not, but he smelled it. I picked the bush beans and watered the herbs before the sun became too direct. It smells like the Tundra despite the +2 hours of cleaning yesterday will require the services of a “professional” detailer
:(:embarrassed: It was made very clear that tomorrow is the day for detailing. :(

Drew- congratulations on the sale of your tractor and for the price you wanted and thanks for sharing the flowers and Randy’s rehab.

Farmer- Nice looking pile

“… Ohio State U. study that finds a statistical link between statin use and Type 2 diabetes.”- Billy My previous PCP and I have been talking about statins for a couple of years. It could really mess with my well maintained blood sugars. Big 10 Football rocks.

“…. To go private rooms would mean cutting capacity in half. The hospital had private rooms.”- BEF I am happy that your self advocacy resulted in a new room and decent roommate. I hope that your progress continues and you return home soon. There is a lot of turnover of patients in rehab facilities. I believe the national average is length of stay is/was ~30 days. Length of stay seems to be a function of insurance coverage for the disabling challenge(s). Unfortunately there is almost as much turnover in the direct care staff. The only way to get a private room in an inpatient rehab facility is to beat up one’s roomie. The single room placement is usually short term; and one gets new meds, a “visit” from a guy like me, and usually a transfer for a 10 day stay in a less desirable facility for “stabilization.”

“…. I started taking CQ10 a few month ago. Do not take statins. But do see less muscle pain”- RonJH I am in no rush to get on statin medication, but I have been taking CoQ10 on the advice of my doctors to address my auto-immune challenges. Those 3D cards amaze me. Thanks for sharing

Rick- I have low tolerance for craziness. Recent and current events reflect craziness on a global scale. The media does not help. I/We have an unused FB account which was helpful in rescuing our St. B’s and nothing else.

RNG- Good luck with the ladder while chimney cleaning.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all especially those dealing with “not the usual” challenges of aging. :(

71°F and .09 inches rain.

Have to get a replacement utility sink for the cottage. Current one developed an unplumbed drain. Taking wife to brunch, something we haven’t done in a while. Will put rest of day into energy conservation mode after over eating.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

thanks for good thoughts. I take CQ10 also at the advice of a long time friend and retired doc.
Particularly since I take a low dose statin. An easy to swallow ovoid pill, versus some sharp edged mini bricks
you get with some of these pills that gets you on the way down.

BEF, glad you've got a nice roommate. Makes a double almost tolerable.
Soon, soon...

spent several hours very early this morning working and picking in the garden, got a nice assortment of peppers
and okra, then pulled all the sadly performing onions. Two pounds a piece my eye, most were like giant pearl onions, not one got full size and they were going
soft. I think they get cooked in the high heat and direct sun, so I threw a bunch out, give them a squeeze and if not rock hard,
recycle. Wound up with 2 1/2 pounds of small onions, and they do taste good. I need to put some on the grill and am also going to use
the air fryer on them along with peppers. They would also be wonderful in a stew.

Enjoy your day.
