Yesterday we went on an outing on a big party bus with the neighborhood to Fredericksburg TX about 1hour 45minutes away. We had lunch and saw the small town production of "The Sound of Music". Very pleasant and still got back before dark. .

Ive been there, drove thru Fredericksburg back in the 80s going to LBJs.

Good Morning!!!! 71F Sunny to partly cloudy. High 94F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

A Brit and an Aussie in our old Norton Motorcycle Club used to go at it on a regular basis, and Pom was one of the nicer things said. I suppose it's all part of Australia's past, being used as a destination for those convicted of one thing or another in England. You'd hope people would learn from the past and get on with making the best of the present, but as recent talks on making reparations for slavery in this country show, the feelings run deep.

I sure hope these new injections help, Ted. Good Luck!!!

Glad it was a quite weekend on the bear front!

Two years after I sold a Ford Falcon Ranchero, I got a letter from a fella asking me to sign off on a new title he'd obtained on the thing. No telling how many times it had been bought and sold since it left my garage, but my name was the last one on file with the state. The little Honda Trail 90 I picked up a few years ago still had the original owner's name on the title, a man long dead. It was difficult to get him to sign off on some paperwork our dear DMV wanted, and I ended up asking for a "lost" title replacement instead. Sure, we can do that...:confused2::laughing: Now I always fill out and mail the state form that lets the DMV know I've sold a vehicle, in hopes of not getting pulled into another shady transaction.

Got a phone call about dinner time last Friday from the adjuster that's handling my fire insurance claim. She'd replaced the person that had been dragging her feet for so long, and seemed anxious to settle. Once she reviewed her figured her figures I noticed there was no "Loss of Use" compensation, so she asked for my tally and off it went in an email. I hope her inertia remains high and a check shows up soon; it would be a big help in the new tractor department.

The motorcycle ride up the Feather River Canyon to Quincy is always a treat, and even with sun in my eyes much of the way, Saturday's didn't disappoint. Cool and refreshing at 7AM, after a delicious breakfast I added another layer to offset for the elevation I'd gain as I passed through Truckee and arrived at the King's Beach home of my friend hosting his annual Airhead's Tech Day. Pretty good attendance this year, with a couple dozen showing up with one thing or another to work on, or to just wolf down a burger or hot dog. I partnered up with a young fella that had just purchased his R100GS, similar to the one I rode there, walking him through an oil and filter change, and making some measurements to ensure he was using the correct number of shims to keep the filter working. Another guy was bringing back his bike from a long slumber by rebuilding the carbs, but had the devil's own time getting it to run well. After one test ride the problems significantly increased, and further changes to the carbs weren't helping. I'd suggested that perhaps the problem was with the points, having come on so suddenly as they had. So the next morning our host helped him pull the timing cover off the engine and sure enough, the gap had closed due to lack of lubrication on the points cam. A dab of grease and a little fiddling with a feeler gauge soon set things right and the smile on the owner's face was priceless. The bike was running better than ever when he left for a test ride, but after a lengthy absence he arrived back at the top of our hill pushing it. He'd run it out of gas! I took a different route home yesterday, north to Sierraville then the Golden Chain Highway 49 over the pass into the North Fork of the Yuba River canyon to Downieville and on to the old Marysville Road back to 70 south of Oroville via some lightly traveled back roads. The weekend had worn me out, and a nap felt almost as good as the shower that preceded it.

I think it'll be back to digging up sprinkler pipes this morning.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start.

Hawkeye, I hope your daughter improves, are the doctors overlooking retinal detachment with all the other trauma suffered?

Prayers for all, positive thoughts for fast healing.

Have a great day all. Be safe.

Just checked with her, the doctor looked at her retina.. He described how the Topamax causes the eye muscles to pull the lenses out of shape and mess with things.. She has a followup with him on Wednesday where he will be recording some scanning he will be doing in the eye.

That's good to know they are checking that. And pressure too.

I hope her condition keeps improving and her attitude remains positive!

I suspect most, if not all, states have a law similar to ours in Texas that makes it "advisable" but not mandatory for the seller to notify the state when you sell or trade a vehicle.
FAQ - Registration Renewal/Cancellation

thanks, no choice, when I deleted car from insurance policy, State pursued me, financial responsibility proof, and I had to show them I sold the vehicle.
I even mailed the plate back to them.

My letters to both the impound lot and the police gave them the name and phone number of the auto dealership I sold it to.
Just hope he dotted all his I's on this one.

heading out to mow some lawn, 86 creeping up to 90.
