Cut lawn today. Then a trip to Grand Rapids to pickup a puppy. Like our current dog doesn't keep me busy enough. Maybe a sleepless night tonight.
New puppy...post some pics when you can. :)

Lost another good friend to Cancer yesterday.
Sorry for loss of your friend Ron...special thoughts and prayers.

In the park where lake picture was taken. We have an albino deer that has had a fawn. Same photographer.
Indeed your lucky to have another of mother natures wonder  I'll trade 12 turkeys,1 fat raccoon,as many gray squirrels you want. ;)

Bill- I think I ate bear meat once at a restaurant's exotic game dinner. If I did it was good eats. I'll eat almost anything considered edible; sometimes I do not ask what it is or might be. Some foods are better enjoyed if ignorant of the ingredients.;)

Isn't bear meat sweet; depending on the bear's diet? There will probably be a bumper crop of wild berries this year;)

Thomas- Congratulations on the new addition to your pack:cool: I am sorry to read about your friend. RIP

Since the very few shades/blinds that we do have are rarely drawn my nighttime activities are highly visible to all the local wildlife. There are no humanoid neighbors for me to amuse.

That bear will be back. It's only a matter of how soon.

Wifey planted some radish and bush bean seeds in the garden this PM. I replanted our rosemary "shrub" outside.

Almost time for "Happy Hour"

Jay, Brogen looks as big as that bear. I agree, a daytime raid on the porch is not a good start to being a good neighbor. I'm getting bear pics about once per week along our creek, but that is over 100 yards down the hill. Haven't seen any evidence that they've come up to the house.

I think I ate bear meat once at a restaurant's exotic game dinner.

Many years ago, my younger brother who lived in Anchorage, AK, for about 25 years shot a black bear that was a record big one, so I'd assume it was an old one. But on one of his trips down to Texas to visit, he brought us a rolled roast that I cooked on the rotisserie, steaks, and ground meat from that bear. It all tasted good, although the steaks and roast were just a little tough. But I'll never forget the Saturday afternoon that I was mowing the yard when my wife came out and told me that one of us needed to go to grocery store. I asked what was needed and she told me, including ground beef. Well, I stayed busy and forgot all about going to the store. That night she made spaghetti and meat sauce for supper, and quite awhile after supper I asked her if she ever went to the store and she said, "No." I said "I thought you said you were out of ground beef." She said, "We are." And I asked, "Well what was that in the spaghetti?" She said, "Half moose and half black bear." In that spaghetti sauce I never thought about it tasting any different than beef.

Bird- Those "freezer moments" with Wifey can happen with + outcomes sometimes. Your meat mix read like awesome good eats:cool: I am happy to surmise all went well. Unmet Wifey expectations can turn out to be "challenging." Sooner or later I expect to see (more) rabbit, bear, yak, moose, emu, etc. as standards in the frozen food sections in the local supermarkets.

Billy- I've never heard/read about "black" coyotes before. Thanks for sharing.
