Good evening all. 56F this morning clear, light wind. Wind stayed light, sky stayed clear, and high temp of 78F. Today was mostly putter day, cleaned up back porch, front porch and side sidewalk, opened up wife sink drain (had a lot of hair). Also worked on pushing out the route for tomorrows ride in Muenster. While napping wife got truck stuck trying to get another truck unstuck. Other truck owner called tow truck, had to remove front air dam to avoid damage, after dinner, unloaded tools and replaced air dam.
Happy birthday Ted and Thomas!!:drink:
Kyle hoping you are continuing to recover.
RNG get some sleep tonight!!
Drew sorry about your hot tub, that is a lot of water.

Good morning all. I won't be hanging around outside any more than I need to today, a storm is coming in from the Atlantic, bringing gale force winds and lots of rain. We need the rain and I suppose even high winds have their uses, pruning out weak branches that would otherwise later be coming down on our head at the slightest tremor from our footsteps.

Thanks for posting those planting pics Drew, I've not seen cigarette seedlings before. After reading a little on tobacco plants, I see there is the potential for using it as food with less nicotine than a tomato, though vested interests may be keeping it out of Don's plant based recipes. Food from Tobacco A Well Kept Secret | American Council on Science and Health

Good to hear you are steadily getting there Bups.

My wife's fracture has healed well, but she did it at the point where all the upper arm muscles are attached and they give her some grief after each therapy exercise. They are working though, I no longer prepare our meals - something we are both grateful for !

up early like Buppies, nice day ahead, low fifties going up to high seventies.
Helper coming all day, hope to get lots done.

Eric, that article is 27 years old, showed a lot of promise for alternative tobacco uses, I bet industry squelched it.
Article said cigarettes were, at that time, the most profitable commodity being sold, wonder if that still holds up.
The market expansion into India, SE Asia and China apparently is almost unlimited. Thanks for posting that link, I'm sending it to local
ag agent, since the test trial was done here in NC.

Ag agent said workers have to wear gloves, or you get sick from handling the tobacco plant, "green disease" or something, simple
nicotine poisoning. Farmer got sick from it, doc said if you smoked, touching the plant wouldn't bother you, but don't smoke...

Hope you all have a fun and safe weekend.

41 right now...high in the mid-40's and rain (as if we need more rain!)
I'll be going to a gun show in Rutland Vermont today. Not to look or buy, but to help out with the Gunowners of Vermont distributing brochures and whatever else is necessary. I haven't been to a gun show in years. Haven't found good deals in any of them in years...

28 °F and going to a high of 39. Wind NW 29 gusting to 42 mph. Snow ending around noon.
The snow and cooler temps will slow the melt down. This is a good thing.

I cleaned up my man cave yesterday and installed the new bed. Should've kept the old one. The first time I laid on it there was a big bang. Couldn't find the problem (didn't look too hard). Got up as usual for a p in the middle of the night and when I went back to bed there was another bang. I got up a few minutes ago and found the problem....Busted the bottom support that goes lengthwise on the outside and forms the bottom support for the drawers.
I WILL be claiming either a replacement part OR a replacement bed. But this time they can set it up.

A dump run is in the cards for today and bark at the manufacturer of this bed.

Happy weekend all, stay safe.

49 going to 70 and clear as a bell.

Yesterday morning's rain dried up quickly in the scattered sun and strong winds...so I got 3 hours of mowing done before the storm hit. For us it was mostly wind, some showers, but nearby it rained pretty hard. Eric, I have lots of those "wind pruned" branches to go clean up this morning.

Hope everyone feels better today!

57 degrees this morning, going for a high of 85 with a slight chance of showers today. I went to Walmart and Sam's Club to do the grocery shopping yesterday morning, then to Buc-ee's for gas and car wash. And yesterday afternoon, after the dew dried off of the grass, I mowed, edged, and trimmed the yard. I need to apply some fertilizer on the yard, and I need to apply some insecticide, but I have a small problem. There's a cottontail rabbit living under our patio and she recently had her second young ones. Now I know they are worthless, but I'd still hate to poison them.

Tomorrow will be our 54th wedding anniversary and I've been trying to decide where to take my wife to celebrate, but that got solved yesterday. Our grandson, and his wife to be, live way our west (Odessa) and are coming to our daughter's today for the weekend, and want us to go there tomorrow for lunch.
